For a channel with 9 mil in the title, this is one of my go-to channels for 10mm reviews. Nice to see the caliber getting some love from both manufacturers and guntubers alike.

Maybe I should call my channel 9Mil/10Mil Ridge. 😅🤣 But thank you, I do love and use 10mm quite regularly in my neck of the woods. Glad you enjoy the channel.

Very glad to see more folks shooting the 10mm. Maybe the price will get better one day👍

It's definitely not a fad, it's becoming more and more popular every year. And for good reason, it's a great woods round for self defense.

How does the recoil compare from the sig to the Springfield? Did the comp make a difference

Can you give us a review between this Sig xten comp 10mm and the S&W 10mm performance center

Was hoping to see you shoot BB or Underwood through it. The original XTEN had issues with the very hot loads from them. I'm debating on this vs the FN 510 MRD and the FN seems to run everything fine but the comp of the sig appeals to me.

I haven't been able to find any unfortunately. Hopefully next video on the Comp. I personally never had any issues using Underwood or Buffalo Bore in my original XTEN. The FN 510 is an absolute beast and eats everything you can throw at it.

My XTEN with nearly 5k rds down the pipe without issue includes Underwood 165 & 180 gr Gold Dots and 200 gr HC. Norma spec ammunition was designed specifically to stop violent human threats, and the bullet weight capped at 200 grains (if I recall correctly). A byproduct is the hunting and “woods defense” aspect. IMHO, the 200 is all that’s needed and has taken large African game (with BB 200 gr HC) at 100 yds from a 5-in 1911. The FN 510 is a good gun as well, but exhibits more recoil than the XTEN. The XTEN Comp is the “softest” shooting 10mm I experienced, and I shoot Norma spec exclusively. XTEN Comp, XTEN, S&W M&P 2.0 Comp, Glock 20/FN 510 (about neck and neck) and lastly, the nicest to carry, the M&P 2.0 Compact (mine is a jammomatic).

@@9MilRidgeThe FN510 is an outstanding pistol, and I have the MRD/non-tactical version. While it’s a beast of a gun and I love the factory 22-rd magazines, I don’t interface with the firearm very well. I just don’t like the backstrap, and the overall grip (with the large backstrap) and trigger size reminds me of the Glock 20/21, but IMHO, just slightly better than the Glock. With the small backstrap, I can’t stand how the backstrap feels. It’s like the grip is nearly perfect, then boom, the backstrap turns a 90 degrees and there’s nothing there. I can “make” it work, but whatever an individual finds comfortable and can shoot well, go with it. The ergos of the XTEN is nearly perfect. The trigger could be pushed forward a hair, but leave it alone, lol. SIG really needs to introduce an extended magazine(s) for the XTEN line. I’m sure they will now that the Endure and Comp are here. I bet a Legion model is in the works…maybe a PCC 10mm…

The Sig will out run the FN on the FN's best day. I have both X TENS and had the FN...well I had the FN for about 8 minutes....JUNK.

@@user-ey4bo5kw7mbuddy of mine has one and I really want to compare his 510 to the X10 comp we just bought. Its was either the fn or the X10 comp. I decided on the sig. Honestly glad I did.

Underwood also has a10mm 100gr defender round thats supposed to be going over 1800fps. Do you think there will be noticible flash from the comp with this round?
@9MilRidge
@9MilRidge 6 месяцев назад
Probably not too much because it only has a single port. But would still need to test it.

Have you ran it with full magazines with heavier loads? Have you ran into rounds and or the follower sticking when unloading the mags by hand?
@9MilRidge
@9MilRidge 2 месяца назад
Yes, I've run it several times with heavy loads fully loaded. And no I haven't had any sticking issues while hand unloading.
@2WheelShenanigans
@2WheelShenanigans 17 дней назад
Sig said this will not cause a malfunction but I can say the issue resolved itself in time, with the magazines just being fully loaded after about a month. The mag springs loosened up. I have about 3500 rounds through mine 0 issues.
@dtidal2
@dtidal2 9 дней назад
I'm having this problem also. I sent all three of my mags back to sig, to my knowledge they didn't test them or admit to any issues, they're just sending 3 new mags. I'll probably still have the same issue.

So, the obvious question: This or the FN 510 Tactical? If you could only have one. I ask because I am considering both. Thank you.
@9MilRidge
@9MilRidge 6 месяцев назад
Well I'll put it this way, I know that the FN510 is 100% reliable. I will have more testing videos on the Comp coming out as soon as I'm able to get a hold of some Underwood and Buffalo Bore ammo. But with almost 400 rounds through the Comp using a variety of grains and manufacturers, I've had zero problems or malfunctions so far.

You can't add a threaded barrel to the sig since it has a comp but it is modular if you want to change the grip

Just bought one produced in February of 24. 500 rounds in with not a single mag issue including the two additional ones purchased from Sig. We picked this up last week and had it at the range twice now. Shot Federal 180 grain fmj, S and B 180 fmj, magtech 180 JHP, blazer aluminum case 200 grain fmj and hurters 180 grain FMJ. No regrets on this purchase. My only complaint is I wish the slide said X10.....oh well shoots very nice.
