Why the fk are you gonna get a comp and ported gun instead of just getting a threaded barrel?!?! Then you can put whatever you want to on it! Suppressor, any kind of comp, etc.!
It is four inches in length but if you're not counting the 1/2 inch at the end, which isn't rifled, and a pain in the ass to clean, then it's 3.5. Hold on your counting the barrel length from the breach face and chamber, which isn't rifled either, so maybe it's 2 inch. There's no rifling there either. I own one and it's an excellent pistol. 4 inches or 3.5 it shoots awesome. What a great gun! Way to go Smith & Wesson.
The shield plus carry comp feels very snappy for a gun that size. It feels like shooting my .40 s&w Glock 27. In fact I shot them side by side and the Glock felt even less snappy in .40 s&w than the shield carry comp did. Very disappointed as I was expecting a softer shooting experience with the comp and all.
I carry a p365 and I love it, but I want something lighter for summer carry. This is perfect, cheaper than a 380 p365,lighter and has a 12 round magazine. Going to get one very soon. I will carry my 365 in the winter and the Smith in the summer.
Not being counter productive, because I enjoy the channel a lot. I'm just not a fan of the Shield ( I have one) and I'd never even consider a Hellcat. I live in Illinois and SA did us wrong as did Rock River Arms. I'll never spend a penny on either one of their products.
As an owner of the Shield Plus PC with ported barrel, I was able to shoot 10 rounds each from 5, 7, and 10 yds with all 30 shots landing on bullseye or the 9 ring. For me the Carry Comp, is working so far (I just bought it) because 1.) The grip is the same as my 3.1 Shield Plus and feels good in my hands, so I don't need to get used to another grip. 2.) The mags work for both. 3.) I now have the nice tritium front sight on the Carry Comp, 4.) The option for an optical sight is there if I choose to go that route, and 5) A couple of my holsters for the 3.1" Shield Plus works with the Carry Comp (yes the 1" of barrel sticks out), so I don't have to necessarily purchase a whole new set of holsters.
If only they’d release a third model with the longer barrel and a comp. I’m guessing the 5” with a similar style comp would bring it down to about 4.5-4.7”?
@@9MilRidge Thank you, I am having some light primer strikes with Minuteman Arms ammo 124 grain (cheap ammo). Haven’t had any issues with Federal 115. So far I have 380 rounds through.
I own the Taurus G3 & it quickly became my fav 9m tuarus makes damn good firearms now. With that said I was in the market for a 22 and against my better judgment, I went with the Sig because it was on sale. The fire arm itself is amazing the mags are garbage shouldn't have to replace spring or sand inside of mag to feed properly.. why isnt there metal / aluminum mags for this thing 2 years later? Anyway Tuarus is king of pistols right now wont find anything more reliable and fsir priced.
Had a Hellcat Pro and it was way too snappy for my taste. My Shield Plus (3.1) and my Kimber R7 both shoot better and they're smaller. The Pro Comp is tempting but I feel like if I'm gonna go that route, the Shield Carry Comp will be better, just like the regular Shield Plus is better than the regular Hellcat Pro.
I like the shield because of the slim size,shoot ability, trigger, and different magazine size options. Carry the 10 and larger ones available if needed. Th hardest part to conceal is the grip. I’m in the camp if I’m carrying a full size grip I’d rather add some thickness to add shoot ability. I do wish the shield added the rail on this one.
It didn’t look like the 365 had less snap than the GX4 Carry had. Several other reviewers comparing the two side by side felt and demonstrated less flip on the GX4 though the 365 had a compensated barrel. I guess the difference could be in different holds on the grip. I do like your reviews.
I haven't shot a Hellcat Pro but, have held one and it feels great. Maybe someone could comment on the Hellcat Pro non comp vs. Shield Plus standard non comp.? Throw the Glock 48 in the mix. I know the S&W Plus is the shorter barrel vs. the other two.
