I love the video I bought my wife a sigsauer 226 about 10 years ago 9Mil Excellent handgun. I am always truly impressed with your information about air guns keep up the good work.
Great review, you just convinced me to buy one. I love that these are actually made by Sig, that just made it a no brainer. Excellent build quality and good value for money.
11:25 "Yes, this does have a very special place in my heart." That's how I feel about the Beretta 92, the 9mm version of which I sadly no longer have ☹️, but I can kind of relive those days, thanks to my M92A1 CO2 pistol.
Hi, I'm new to your channel, which I found while looking for some bona-fide reviews. I just bought me this gun today, and I have to say it's an absolute beauty. Your video was really informative and comprehensive. Now I'm positive my money has been well spent. Keep up the good work!
0:00 if someone answered a door like that i would run. i have watched most of your videos by a great majority. this is by far the weirdest intro you have and i love it. dont change a thing.
After dozens of reviews I finally pulled the trigger on the said pistol 🔫 and no regrets plus the price was right since I live in Canada 🇨🇦 everything is expensive than in USA 🇺🇸. I am familiar with the rotary clip(Gamo P430 and many others) and was surprised to see it was made in Japan 🇯🇵.Didn’t get a lemon 🍋 it shoots good and accurately with nice kick,no jams. Now no more guns,it’s addictive…Enjoy.
I was one of the more unlucky ones. My P226 ASP had a loose outer barrel right from the start - as many other owners of this particular replica has had also. My P226 shot approx 7 inch sized random "groups" on paper from approx 18ft. But I fixed mine and nowadays shoots spot on. The power output was quite inconsistent on mine also as new - but it somehow sorted itself out by just shooting it in over time. The pellet bores in the mag seemed to vary a bit I guess - but Crosman pellets seem to sit a bit tighter and they do not tend to fall out from the mag (as some of my RWSs did). I do like my P226 nowadays. Probably the only a bit ittitating with this Sig for me must be the clanky sound of the slide. The slide probably is a bit on the heavier side - but imo the slide's spring was not stiff enough (or at least on mine). I personally do like these 8+8 shot stickmags very much. Never had a pellet jam or feeding issue myself with pistols that uses these kind of magazines. The best thing with this one must be the hefty feel of it. And a working decocker is just sweet!😊👍
@@shaunsunderland7223 That is a tough one. I am a big fan of both Sig Sauer and HK. My P226 has held up well. Had just the loose barrel and low power valve issues to fix first. I love the VP9. Good ergonomics. The issue that may occur on an UX VP9 is that the lock open lever may wear against the slide and it may not always lock open to 100% at last shot (low gas as a reason excluded here, of course). But the overall performance of the VP9 is awesome imo - even rhough the trigger reset is long due to the firing mechanisms.
Thank you for watching...One of my favorites, I would like to see it designed with the opening in the slide for the ejection port. It would make it that much better of a replica. Thanks for watching!
very informative , I collect a lot of sig pellet guns and appreciate you testing them. also thanks for your service brother. keep it going and tag me plz thanks
I'm trying to replicate the Sig Sauer P220 from left 4 dead 2 and I'm pretty sure this is the closest I'm gonna find, what kind of flash lights can be hooked onto it?
Great review. Thank you. Just bought mine here in Australia. I was hoping you could provide details of the underframe sight mount that you were using. This sort of stuff is very difficult to find here.
Thanks for your time and detailed review on the SS P226 AP. Because of your vid, looking at pulling the trigger (no pun intended) and ordering today! With that, do I have to purchase a 'silencer adapter' in order to add suppressor/silencer onto the SS P226 air pistol? is there a suppressor available that is 'direct fit'? Appreciate the response.
Great video & gun only wish sig made a metal mag instead of plastic work well but are of poor quality also it would be nice to have a working ejection port that's just me nit picking. Sig you need to up your game, but overall it's awesome
@@knicks252525 between 7m and 10 ohh yes really. important thing the blowback does his job to reload. My favorite airgun for the moment, next umarex glock is coming...
@@delpilio6961 i can't make a choice between this and the X-five ASP. I like the trigger on this and the sights on the X-five. How is your p226 with those fixed sights? Any problems with jamming?
14:36 Unfortunately there is NO pellet pistol in existence that locks back after last round fired because hollow pellets can not be stacked vertically like BBs and bullets, which allows the mechanical follower to engage the slide lock when the magazine is empty. All pellet pistols rely on a rotary mechanism, like a revolver, which cannot be used to engage the slide lock.
Just so ppl know.., you can buy an adaptor to fit a “Working” silencer and trust me it does take the edge off the bark. I have a BSA VC mod attached to my P226.., does make it a touch front heavy and block the sights so a laser is a must unless you fit a slimmer mod.
Hey great video!i just bought one Is it normal that the slide has a little bit of play? Towards the muzzle the slide seems a tiny bit shaky. Is it normal or not at all? Thank you !!
@@AirgunDetectives oh and what I really love abt this p226 amd tou didnt cover is that you can decock it either with the safety or by pulling the hammer with your hand and squezing the trigger or do it with the slide. Pretty amazing! Just like a 9para p226 But it retails more like around 220$ where i live ( ironocally its sig's home country. Whis I could ve gotten it for US price... wich is said to retail under 100usd in the US... I think its pretty powerful too domt you think. Im no expert bit it seems prertt powerful for an airgun
Not a fan of these mags but the pistol is a nice blowback with high velocity. Sig should have done this in a purple like the sadly discontinued single stack 239.
Recently ordered the Sig P226 and should be coming in soon. Also in route is a 1/2 UNF Silencer adapter for the Sig. Q - you know how I can get my hands on a Weihrauch 1/2 UNF Airgun Silencer? Or something comparable here in the states? I here the Weihrauch are second to none, but they are international and can't /haven't located an outlet stateside to purchase. I'm open to suggestions and much appreciated!
Great video. I bought this P 226 about 6 months ago and since then I have used 14 CO2 cylinders. When I put in the 15 th cylinder I heard the cylinder leaking and hissing out CO 2. I bought and new box of CO 2 cylinders but the leaks continues. I live in Canada and bought the Sig here at Cabelas. They could not help me , just to phone Sig USA. I did but they referred me to MD Charlton here in Canada. I have not heard anything from anyone so far about anything to help me out. Cabelas does not help, Sig does not help, MD Charlton does not reply, apparently they do not stand behind their product and I am very disappointed that this nice gun only lasted 14 CO 2 cartridges. Does anyone have the same problem or what can I do? Neither SIG or Cabelas cares about me.
@@joseglenn20 Hi Jose. I used some of the tape you mentioned before but it really leaked bad even then. I contacted Sig Sauer Canada after that and finally got to talk to the warranty department. He said that this happens once in a while but if you send your P226 to him, he would send me a brand new one. I got a brand new P226 and I have to retract my negativity and praise Sig Sauer's warranty program. I am a very happy customer. They really stand behind their products.
It's simply the O ring that seals the co2. You should buy some O rings and silicon. Replace the 0 ring and add silicon and it should be okay for another load of co2. It happens because the co2 freezes the rubber seals and cracks them
I like the German made Colt 1911 put out by Umarex. I also have the Beretta 92 and the Walther CP88. All "Non-Blowback" but shoot 400 plus fps with lead pellets and are accurate. Oh, and not to mention the S&W 586 and 686 that are produced by the same German factory. 👍😉
I watched your video on the X-five ASP, this seems to shoot a little bit hotter but yes the temps were cooler when you made that video. The X-five gets an adjustable rear sight while this has a little more power. Do you think this one would be better than the X-five if we talk about the pellet loading mech? Since I've heard the chain mag on the x five suffers from jams. What's your take on this sir?
@@AirgunDetectives I highly prefer those adjustable sights as well. All the reports of jams had me double guessing the X-five. Thanks a lot for the confirmation, i really appreciate you taking the time out to answer my queries.
I just bought the P226. In south Africa i can't find a red dot sight. What make of red dot sight should i look for ? I'm thinking if i know a make or brand of of red dot sight to fit the P226, i may find it. Thanking you. Greg
i wished i would have seen this video before i purchased something to replace the pt-85 i got rid of, the way all the other videos talked about shot count of the Sig's they made it sound like each 8 shot rotary end was a separate mag and you only four mags or 32 shots out of a single CO2 cartridge, i wanted above 400 fps and 60+ shots so i sacrificed the blowback and went with something that has the FPS and shot count but is other wise really boring, had they been more clear like you were about the total shot count i would have bought a Sig, i'm going to really miss not having blowback ......
Never mind, I see you had a ftf on your last target in the plinking portion. I can get up to 40% of my shots doing this. Bbs or pellets. The only pellet that was fairly reliable were the 10.64 gr copper plated Sig Wraith pellets. I wanted to shoot steel bb's or lead free pellets to keep from littering my background with lead.
I like this gun, but, I do have problems with pellets getting stuck and I have to push a rod down into the barrel to unstuck it , I do like that it is easy to reload the CO2
ya i was gonna mod it with a dremmel cutting blade to make the cut out and just leave that part alone. measurement wise would u say theyre very close in size and screw position? thx again!
Have you shot pointed pellets in it and would you recommend this for dealing with aggressive birds dive bombing dogs just trying to do their business outside?
Actually the pellets do not make much of a difference in the lower velocity airgun as far as impact. What you want is the more accurate. If your objective is to scare the birds that may be successful. If your goal is pest control I would recommend something with higher FPS. Thank you for watching 👍
Think I've seen this i seen the version that has like a chain fed m17 style i think its p320 cause m17 is p320 but nearly same gun m17 mag idk id it will fit tho
excellent review! i have the Sig Sauer P250 ASP, which was released alongside the P226 that is reviewed in this video. i kept the packaging because the original muzzle velocity claims for these two air pistols were printed on the packaging, and in the manual. the P250 ASP was rated up to 500 fps, and the P226 ASP was rated up to 510 fps. These greatly inflated power claims had kept these first "Sig Air" pellet pistols from being imported into Canada, which is where I am located. i got lucky and found a seller from Louisiana on Amazon who sold me the ODG two tone P250 ASP and shipped it to me. I expect that eventually the P250 ASP will become the most collectable of all the "Sig Air" Action Sport Pellet Co2 replica pistols, especially if the packaging with those inflated muzzle velocity claims was kept with the co2 pistol. the P250 ASP was discontinued and replaced by the P320 ASP. Thanks for making so many great airgun review videos!
Thanks for the terrific feedback! I have all those models and I will eventually review them. I couldn't find my original packaging on my 226, probably because it was a clamshell and I discarded it. But it was one of the first released models and I think I remember the original 500 FPS claim. Again thanks for watching 👍
Thank you for the review. There is a flat dark earth version that looks great. As I have said before I appreciate your real world experience that you bring to your reviews. This gun is on my wish list
Was your duty weapon on saftey when u got into self defence situsaion? Would u prefer a glock today? I have the new 43 cal glock gen 5 paintball marker and pretty cool because it doesnt have a saftey exexpt the hard trigger. My local pawn has the coyote tan sig and after watching this I want it more. I saw it new for 130 at adademy and what brought me here. I wanted to see why he wants so much now I see y He joking said I would get into trouble with this one and wouldnt go down on price I bet its the weight and power y he said that we do live in the city and all karan neighbors.
How does the trigger compare to the real P226, after that really long reset? I love my P226RX Legion and this looks like fun, if the trigger is OK. And, it is too bad that they did not mill the slide for the Sig air gun red-dot, like the P320 version Cheers, Tony
Good trigger! Keep in mind there is only so much they will do to them and keep them affordable. I also wish they had a cut-out in the slide to give it a more realistic look. Happy Shooting 👍
You've mentioned in a few of your videos that you get some of the guns on sale. May I enquire as to where? I'm interested in getting sig Xfive. Any ideas?
Carlos..here is a link. When it takes you to the page click on the "New (15) from" and you'll find it for $102.95 and free shipping amzn.to/2WTyUiF Enjoy!!
Recording this at 1080p @60 fps (instead of the 25 FPS used in this video) would allow a better view of the blowback action of the gun. Some of the movements of the slide are lost to in-between video frames.
