I gotta say, I really like this review. Not very many reviews out there that are good. People usually just record a handgun on a table for 5 mins and talk on and on.. this guy actually picks up the weapon and shows some stuff. Nice job.
When I had my p229 I've carried concealed and I didn't have any issues ad I was pretty comfortable but everyone has their own opinion on what they feel comfortable with...
No problem, you are correct, the only pistol i keep loaded is the one i carry, I also check every pistol, I removed that portion to save time, great point though, I will ensure I leave safety checks in the video for viewers.
The p229 has been the sidearm of the Secret Service. It still may be I don't know, but I thought you might want to know that it is a weapon of the Secret Service. That's a pretty good standard.
the SIg is a different beauty, I like it for the Decocker and recoil handing, along with the look. A glock will always be in my collection, can't go wrong with a G23
Thanks for explaining the trigger safety and the hammer blocked mechanism with the trigger not pulled. I didn't know that and I've had my P229 357 for many years. Cheers, friend!
Yea man I agree with you! Sig's are great fire arms, I have a P226 in .40 S&W and love it. I'm thinking of getting the SRT for my Sig too so keep us updated!
I just picked up a non rail version a couple day's ago have yet to shoot it. This is by far the most detailed 229 vid I have seen yet, awesome job. I'm with you on the grip's they seem way cheap but I have a fairly new HKp30 now that's a damn grip holyshit. Anyway great vid gonna check out some more now
Love Sig. Great review. I just got a Sig Sauer MK25 P226 Navy. 300 rounds thru it and love it. I'm a 1911 guy and I love it. I don't play with my Glock much now.
When you were talking about trigger and you mentioned that was "creep", actually, that was the take-up. Anyways, I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for posting. Btw, you should check out a Sig 19 elampin.
Just bought my First handgun, a P226. going to buy a P229 in a few months when i get my CCW, hopefully Sig will get their act together and get the P224 launched as well =] good video
Thanks, I will do so. I actually already placed the SRT kit in, was not that difficult, cough cough, the video ended up to be around 30 minutes so I am trying to edit it down without losing to much info.
Thanks Chuck, gotta jump on the wagon my friend. Its a strong round and you know you are shooting when firing a .40. Excited to try the .357 sig round.
They do cost more I have three now and want more.. The Glocks have their place. The SIGS have both beauty and function, and cost more, and they are more complex, and the finish is not that tough, and they are heavy, and there is the Double/single 10 lb first shot, and you can't just drop in a connector and springs like the Glock...the Pull on my 220 is so smooth I could do DA on every shot. I still love my sigs and will buy many more.. I have two Glocks... that is all I need.
Unbelievable pistol! Just purchaed this after shooting my friends Sig P229R. Ive been Glock fanboy for years- Sold my G19 and now have a new P229R for winter carry and my little P238 for summer/shorts carry. Its funny how you cant believe how much Sigs cost till you really get to shoot one at that point you cant settle for less. I still cannot believe I carried a shitty horrible grip angled squishy trigged G19 all those years! Sig P229R just melts in your hand-just go try one out!
MrDelmonte67 : I would have kept the Glock as well. I have a Glock 19 Gen 4 (MOS) and a Sig Sauer P229 SCT. It's like they're best friends. Lol. Can't have one without the other.
I love the Sig P229 I had one and I traded it and now I regret it but hopefully I will get it back very soon, and I will get the new design that shown in this video cuz I like that design better...in my opinion Sig Sauer, Glock and Springfield XD are the best guns to own...I have all but the sig sauer but hopefully soon I will get a sig sauer p229 again
very manageable, the sigs really know how to absorb the energy, that it why I love them. If you get the 226 in 9mm its like shooting 380, hours at the range. for the 40 I am not to sure, My 229 eats it.up
Living in an oppressive state years ago, I purchased a 9 mm Barsto barrel for my Sig 226 e2 40sw. I just had it fit. Oh my God, shooting 9mmm is amazing. I’ve always wanted a 229 and I think this is the reason to get one, in 40. What to do with my 2022 in 40?
@jordub for me not the best for ccw, it is a bulky pistol, waiting on a new holster and see how that feels. With the winter coming I may be able to, but in the summer it is just not working for me.
How is the the recoil on your P229? I am thinking about buying the P226 Mark 25 Navy. I own a nice Kimber CDP 11 45 ACP. I realize the cost of shooting it is expensive.
Does the M11-A1 P228 have the option of purchasing one with a picatinny rail for tactical use since its being advertised for civilian and paramilitary (Law Enforcement) use?
A, If he didn't safety check and shot himself then I doubt he will upload it. B, If you're stupid enough not to safety check your gun before breaking it down then you shouldn't own a gun. C, If you want to know how to eject the magazine and rack the slide to eject the round in the chamber then go look at how to break down a semi-auto pistol.
Off the top of my head I believe the grip on the Sig is bigger, also depends what grips you have on the Sig, if you have the ergo grips much smaller then the plastic or wood grips.
This has got to be the worst, most dangerous, dim-witted., irresponsible design of a handgun in history. De-cocker: now that is appropriate for a children's toy rather than a weapon of deadly force. The opportunity for failure of either the weapon system or the operator causing DEATH is huge. It seems like they went out of the way to throw in entirely new mechanisms to cause a gun to fail to put a bullet into the face of the enemy, and thus be killed in the counter fire in ways that were otherwise impossible with real guns. This is nothing like the XD please do not make that comparison. The De-Cocker is the stuff of nightmares.
Real guns? This has to be the worst criticism I have ever read, assuming you're serious. For one, SIGs have a notoriously high bore axis so your hand shouldn't be that high up to begin with. Second, a decocker on a SIG only puts it into double action, so unless you have crippling arthritis or are just hilariously incompetent you should be able to pull the trigger. Finally, stuff of nightmares? Are you kidding me? Nobody but you has problems with SIGs. Therefore it isn't a bad design.
