Yup. As much as I love my P320’s, and especially the X-Carry and X-Compact, they are all too chunky for lil’ ol’ me to carry IWB. Just got my XL and all I have is a Sticky Holster right now but I can tell it’s going to be a match made in heaven. Helps that my PPS M2 was a good fit and they are similar in dimension (with the near-perfect XL grip giving it a wide lead).
DisneyFireheart Yes, I have but just for a short time as I was trying to beat the oncoming rain. It really is a terrific shooter! Both Sig 124gr hollow points and my handloaded practice ammo with Missouri Bullet truncated cone coated bullets were fine. And it will become my only “3 season” carry piece after more testing and I get something other than my Sticky Holster. I traded off a wonderful Walther PPS M2 to get the XL and they are almost the same size so no issue there. I much prefer the full grip of the XL and I guess it also makes my beloved Kahr CW9 obsolete, too. Still have my Kahr CW380 for summer pocket carry.
Ken Tewell Just reaches out and grabs you, doesn’t it? Picked up a P365, “meh”. Picked up a P365SAS, interesting but “meh”. Picked up the XL and “That’s the one!”
@@CaveWyatt yah. I have both and if I want a more "deep conceal" I will switch to the 365 esp if u go with the 10 rnd flush fit. Nice to have options but when I grabbed the XL I knew immediately I was replacing my shield with it...lol
I snagged the first one to hit the shelf in my lgs. The first round down range I was in love. I offered to let everyone at the range put a mag through it. 10/10 would recommend.
Excellent review; honest, forthright and with plenty of practical shooting. I have both the P365 and the P365 XL and echo all of your comments! Well done.
I think the P365XL is an amazing gun. I also love my P320 X compact. It just reminds me of a little bit bigger version of the 365 XL. If you have not tested that one you really will like it a lot. I don’t think I know anybody who is shot the XL that has not liked it.
Warms my heart to see you 💓 a Sig pistol lol. I know you pit the p226 in your top 5 reliable if im not mistaken but usually you are supper critical on most Sig pistols. Signed a converted Sig Fan Boy.
LOVE when Mrs. Outlaw is on the range and you’re filming. And yeah: that particular piece caught my eye the other day at my local store and I MAY need to pick it up.
This is the first pistol I purchased back in 2020 for my wife at her request. She loves it as do I but I have others now including the P365 SAS … she let’s me carry hers sometimes 😊
Love your reviews. They are clear, on point, and reliable. Your wife has a wicked fun sense of humor and also shoots like a pro. Keep up the good work!!
@honestoutlaw great first impressions/shooting, looking forward to your full review I bought this gun after shooting it at the range currently my carry pistol
I have the p10s with RMR. Love the gun but find it heavy to carry compared to my Glock 46x. Keep going back to try to carry it can't get away from benefit of single stack
I’ll stick to my P365! Perfect size for a edc....my winter carry is my X-Compact..what an amazing compact 9mm..Sig is killing the market with these innovative guns
I bought the p365 SAS fully knowing that if it didn’t work out I could grab a slide with X-ray sights. The SAS sights are Cqc only. Pistol runs flawlessly though. So then ordered the new slide with X-ray sights and its way better than expected!! So I just grabbed the XL and I absolutely love it!! Both guns run great I’ll be carrying one or the other in my rotation. And now my g19 w/ light/ laser is my house gun! Well done Sig!!
You are slaying it with that pistol! I just bought an XL with the Romeo zero red dot and love it. Luckily I got to try it at the shop, before I bought it. Fell in love with it right away. It shoots way better than I thought it would. I've been researching the crap out of these 365's over the last 3 years and finally decided on this one set up with a red dot from the factory. Love it too. Glad I finally got one. Thanks for your video!
The Sig P365 XL measures within the limits of a S&W M&P Shield line and the M&P 9c. (about the same) and 12+1 is standard, in the box, from the factory. Additionally, the size of the grip makes the XL easier for a lot of shooters that have smaller hands or prefer a purchase that gives the shooter a feel to the grip.
Wow. You've made my decision abit harder now. I went to go check out the XL but I haven't shot it yet. I'm leaning to the glock 43x or the G45 but this p365 XL is badass. Thank you for all the amazing videos. Ricky from South Africa
@Sigkim I test shot one and couldn't get over the grip so I didn't buy it. It felt noise heavy and wanted top roll forward in my hand. I ordered a grip cover and went back to the shop and retested it. Then I bought it :)
Thanks for this review Sir. Like you, I believe that the XL is much better than the P365. Have been carrying one for a year now - an unusually good combination of compactness and accurate firepower.
The Yankee Marshall did an excellent video review on primer drag issues. In short, if you have a sub-compact gun, you can expect to see some level of primer drag. In regards to a feature rich pistol this seems like a good choice. I would love to see how it stacks up against the P10S optic version.
I have owned both the 365 and xl for a while now. Since buying the xl I have not carried the 365 since. There's hardly any differences appendix carrying the xl vs 365. I have have around 500 rds through my xl with zero problems.
They come new with two flush 12rd mags. The 15 is the extra mag. Just FYI for people wanting to buy one. I've got 500rds through mine in the past month. No issues
Ive got large hands and never in my life thought I would like a thinner grip on a pistol until my friend let me shoot his glock 48....... and I was surprised how well I could hold it and personally I get a better grip on them then with a larger sized pistol ...... I own the 365 tac pac the XL and the glock 43x...... and they are my favorite ones to shoot....... great carry guns and always a pleasure to shoot them......
I think I'm going to throw that sig flat trigger into my standard 365. Cool review! I've lost my shooting buddy(my wife) for a bit as she's 19 weeks pregnant with our second child and worried about the noise levels as the babies hearing is more developed. Anyways, I always enjoy you and your wife's interaction in videos, a lot of Chanel's keep their family completely out which I understand as well, but it's cool seeing you two enjoy it.
Nice video. I put the upper XL on the standard old frame. Shoots OK , yet I do not notice difference in recoil vs the original 365. The only pro for me is: no primer drag and maybe one day put a red dot. Ohh, when you manually rack the slide with the trigger pressed , the slide will NOT go back--BUT it works OK firing....
I had to chuckle at your beginning comment about your big hands may be having a problem shooting the gun. That's one of the main reasons I bought that gun because I have big hands and it is so manageable for a small firearm.
This is super weird perhaps, but I would love Sig to make a DA/SA hammer version of this frame. I love my P365, but everybody knows hammer guns shoot better out of the gate with better triggers. Striker fired guns are a utility thing not a want thing. I would buy it immediately and throw the Romeo 0 on that bad boy. Keep in mind that I am coming from the 1911 and CZ side of things. I do really like Sig, the P938 is awesome as well.
It is an excellent gun. I have it with 2 12 round mags and 2 15 round mags. I'm very accurate with it. I also have a P365 with 3 mags, 2 10 round and 1 12 round.
Spot on shooting Mr HO. And descriptive, precise description with flat out honesty. Good job too Hocus Pocus. PS: I'm up for some more of your thoughts on real life defense direction with weapons, knife and or firearms for those who are set with their firearms and not looking for the latest greatest flavor of the month. I know a lot of people want to see these new firearm videos, but everyone reaches a point when they need to get beyond that, shooting what they have, and advancing their tactical education. I learned so much from your "7 CC Tips that could save you life" video. Guess that's what I'm looking for more of, if it suits you. I like that there was no mention of brand or caliber of firearm.. just to train with what you have. Be well, safe and support the liberties of our Republic
Great video, gun and shooting, my goodness!! My wife is currently deciding between the 365 XL and the P10S. Can't wait for the 1000 round review, might help with her decision. R u planning on getting the P10s?Keep it up man. Thanks
The difference between him holding the gun and his wife holding the gun is funny, he looked like he had a pocket gun & she looked like she had a hand cannon!
I own and love this gun; it is just so easy to carry. The only problem that I have had is that when it gets dirty, the slide doesn't lock back on the last round. Further, as you said in your vid, I want a gun that comes with everything. I am tired of playing the Glock upgrade game. Damn tired. I have a couple thousand rounds through mine, and I haven't had any problems. I run the gun pretty dirty, as well. I think it is a solid purchase if you want a great carry gun that can hold a full-sized gun's worth of rounds. I don't even notice it. Way better than the XDS, as well. The XDS trigger is like 8 lbs. It sucks.
damn you Honest Outlaw, I've been watching people reviewing 365xl so much and none of them made me want to buy this gun until I watched yours. Now I'm gonna have to jump back to the market and looking for another LE to sell theirs with the triple price in CA.
365xl or cz p10c? Interested in your thoughts. According to the machanics gloves size chart. My finger length is medium, but my palm width is XL. We can't all be piano players. Would like to know what you think.
