As a hardcore Glock and CZ fan, I just bought an XL last weekend because I was so impressed with it. Sig absolutely killed it with this one. It checks every box with zero sacrifices imo, which is hard to find in a ccw, even harder with large hands. Highly recommend this to anyone. 👍👍

M It depends on how important width (or lack of) is to you. they both shoot very well, I find the P10s to be easier to shoot well, but it is significantly thicker, which makes a big difference if your a skinny guy and dont want any printing. Cant go wrong with either, if you REALLY dont wanna print at all, go with the Sig.

I've got the p365 and the 365xl. 2500k through the p365 and about 1500k through the 365xl with no issues. The p365xl has changed my mind about carrying a glock 19, and being honest I have not carried a glock since I started shooting the p365. I've got the p320 xcompact too. I like the sigs better than glocks period. I've been a glock owner since 1988.
Glock has to innovate if they want to stay competitive. Most people who carry them at this point for CCW only do so because of the Glock name and track record. Worth something, but they’re definitely falling behind.
I am a hardcore 1911 guy …. Been carrying them since I joined the Army in 1985. I just bought my first polymer frame, striker fired pistol and it is a SIg P365XL … in no small part due to this review. I’m going to the range tomorrow for the first time with it. I will be shooting a Kimber Custom LW 9mm and the Sig P365XL … clearly two very different pistols. And I have about 1500 rounds through the Kimber, which is my current daily home defense. But I am very excited to see what the P365XL does and how it shoots. Thanks for the great review!!!
Just bought mine today. I fell in love with it when I held it in my hand and bought it on the spot. The amount of upgrades available for it is awesome as well.
@@RayDoyouagree Threaded barrel, 21+1 mag upgrade, TLR7-Sub, Holosun 507k, and if you'd prefer a heftier grip then also a grip module to your specific taste. I snagged the X Macro grip mod and built the TacOps uncomped version.
The P365 is actually a little smaller than the Glock 43. I've owned both, and kept the Sig. My Daughter now carries the Glock. Both are good, but I just like the 365 a little more.
I just bought this side-arm without even considering reviews because when I was firing at the range I just fell in love with it. Originally I wanted a Legion, but the ergos, the width, length and the Romeo RD sight it came with; I couldn't say no.
I am 5' 6" and fit, so I don't have a lot of real estate on me to hide a gun. I carry appendix and was carrying a Remington RM380. Such a small gun disappears on me easily. Carrying the P365XL is not really a big jump. The overall size difference is very small between the two guns. With a form fitting tank top I can still carry the P365XL in front, and with a claw on the holster it still does not print. Having a total of 25 rounds of a larger caliber on me with a back-up mag gives a lot of comfort, compared to a total of 13 rounds when carrying the .380. I love this gun. Fits my hands perfectly, and easy to control.
I bought the p365 expecting to hate it. I had a G43. I loved the p365. It’s just right for me. It’s cool that they made the XL because it’ll probably be better for people with wider hands.

Bought the standard first and fell in love with it, now I own an XL with manual safety as well. I carry both with no problem but the standard with the 10 round is my go to summer clothing type carry where the XL is my winter clothing type carry. Both will get the job done and really the XL could be carried all year around with its slender form factor and it’s the flatter shooter as well. Sig just knocked it out of the park with these guns! Just added the Wilson combat grip module to my XL with the tungsten weight kit and the changes were terrific! I’d like to see you review the XL with the W/C grip module and tungsten weight kit Don, I think you’ll love it!
Ma'am you made a wise choice. I'm not the biggest 9mm fan around, and prefer the .40. But how can you beat the P365? To have such a concealable little gun is amazing. That's all I carry now. Good luck.
Don, thanks for another excellent review. The original P365 (with the 12 round mag) is a perfect CC option, especially in warm/hot weather. The 15 round mags in a back up capacity complete the package.
That's what I'm carrying. P365 with a 12rd mag in the gun and a 15rd mag as a spare. Next month taking a class with our local Sheriff's department using this pistol.
SIG better be looking over their shoulder. The new Hellcat is aiming directly for their market niche, and it looks really good. It has a non-proprietary rail, and is available cut for optics right out of the gate. Springfield watched and waited to see what people wanted, and then struck. What's the purpose of the XL? to lure sales away from the Glock 48?
@@virion8954 you may be right, not sure which generations I've held, but I've tried to like them, they look very sleek imo, but have always felt cheap and blocky compared to other polymer guns. The sig and glock polymer guns seem to be a bit thicker and of better quality.
One day I brought some co workers to the range. I have a CZ 75b and in my 5 and a half year quest to make my gun malfunction, I brought some crappy Winchester USA Forge ammo. My CZ and my coworkers CZ P09 worked flawlessly, his first time firing it by the way, while my coworker's Sig 365 and my other co workers Kimber Micro pistols had failures to feed.
Agree, my CZ sp01 and p10 c have yet to malfunction. First day out P365 xl wouldn't return to battery MANY times. Took weapon home cleaned it and failed again. I cannot trust this Sig for anything more than a range queen.
I was finally able to find one a couple of weeks ago. I bought it and now I'm carrying it instead of my G26. Sig finally got it right with the XL. What a really nice gun!!
I agree ! I got one a couple weeks ago and it’s the best choice I could have made. The only problem I had , was choosing to buy it with the Romeo zero, or the normal sights that come on it! Only $100 more for the Romeo version, but I went for the one without . Never really been a red dot guy anyways lol.
The biggest advantage, I see, is that the XL fits the hand without having to add pinkie rests to the base plate and the flat wire recoil spring. The XL is about a half inch shorter than the M&P shield EZ (which I carry in my jeans pocket sometimes) The Sig XL fits even better and has 12 + 1 rounds rather than 8 + 1 My wife can rack the XL but not a Bodyguard.
The thing I love most about newer Sigs (like the X-Compact, etc) is how FEATURE LOADED they are for us that want to buy a pistol and a holster and be set; not have to go to third parties for better sights, etc...But that questionable reliability is going to be in the back of a lot for our minds for a while. I'm rooting for it but remaining realistic and nothing's going in my EDC until it is beyond reasonable scrutiny. Thanks for all the great work.
I love your review on the Sig P365 XL. I have tried them in my gun shop and am going to buy one soon. I handled the Sig P365 about a year ago before the P365 XL came out and the grip was to small for my hands and not comfortable. The P365 XL rectified that problem and feels great in my hands!!! Keep the GREAT review videos and GOOD SHOOTING.
I am a huge CZ fan and carried a P10S for over a year. Decided to buy a 365X and carry appendix. Still love my CZ’s but the 365X is lighter and it shoots AWESOME

Yes man I can’t decide between these 2 guns, I hope the you tubers start dropping side by side comparisons. But truly I’d like to run a couple boxes through each and see which I prefer, I suspect it’ll be a wash.
I was deciding between the two as well, and ended up going for the 365xl for two reasons. Just like the p365 I wouldn’t be surprised if this first gen of the hellcat has some issues. I’m going to wait for any flaws to be addressed before I get one. My other reason is because I like the feel of the 365xl better. I have big hands so the grip made a big difference.

if your used to carrying a G19 or G26 then go with the XL , if your used to carrying the G43 then go with the standard P365, Ive carried both, or carry the standard in summer and the XL in the winter if you live in a state that has a winter. Great review!
Thanks Sootch. I love your videos. I purchased the 365 XL about a month ago to replace my G2C. I've only got about 200 rounds through it, but so far, it's flawless. I did have one failure to fully eject one case, but I'm pretty sure I had my thumb on the slide. I think it slowed it down just enough to cause the malfunction. I now keep my support hand thumb in the rail notch to keep it out of the way and haven't had a problem since. Keep up the good work man.
I work at a gun shop so I dry fire several variants. Sigs triggers are not always the same. We keep atleast 5 of each 365 variant in stock and some 365's have much better triggers than others including xl's so cherry pick the one you buy.
9mm Weiner I'll only speak on glock and sig because that's what I handle most, but sig seems to be less consistent. I handle a lot of Glocks though too and find similar results. I always try to cherry pick every polymer pistol I buy due to this.
Nice hat hair!!!! Lol. Love the reviews keep them coming. I love how you are not biased one way or the other. I own a P365 NRA edition and have put over 2,000 rounds through it with no malfunctions.
Great review. I have the standard and the XL both and really like the way they shoot although I have slightly smaller groups with the XL. I carry the standard daily with the flush mag. and it is very comfortable to wear.
So first they made it small, then they enlarged it. I would definitely want the XL myself, 2 more rounds, more grip purchase, Romeo plate already there, flat trigger, beefy recoil spring, and under rail. Lots of great features and options in there. The XL look like it hits the "sweet spot" as Sootch says.
You could just use the 12rd mag on your 365 during the winter months and they are basically identical when it comes to concealed carry. Just trying to save you some cash.

I love my P365. It has been my go to for over a year now. I have 1500 rounds and going strong. It benched my trusty G26. The package of three P365 puts my Glocks to shame. I love my Glocks but let's face the facts $499 for a gun with 10 rounds, night sights, and forward serations. Just a clean little gun.

I really wanted to like the Sig Sauer weapons and purchased an AR-15 after a Marine recommended one. The Rifle was not accurate at All. So, then I tried a couple of their pistols. They were very accurate pistol but just didn't fit my hands or shooting style as nicely as any of my Glocks or Smith & Wesson M&P pistols. So, I'll probably never own an other Sig Sauer weapon
Shot the p365 it was nice, but with 12 round mag was basically same size mag length as xl. Might as well have xl extra barrel length accuracy, recoil, sight distance. It shot like it was choosing me. Bought it on the spot. Xl was amazing.
Great video as usual, Sootch. However . . . on facebook live I asked you specifically to compare it to the CZ P-10S (which you said you were going to do - insttead, you opted for the G26) for a few reasons. 1 - both pistols are 12+1 capacity right out of the box. 2 - They both have a great sight picture and are optics ready right out of the box. 3 - These are the two top contenders for when I buy a new belt pistol for when I do get my conceal carry permit. Now perhaps you can do a 1 on 1 comparison of the 365XL and the P-10S before you have to send the Sig back. Thanks again for all you do. Long live the Republic!!!!!
To be fair...if it's a game changer because of pistol size and capacity...then technically KelTec did it 24 years ago with a gun of the same size and weight, and a flush mag holding 12. The P11.
@@shanescott3168 I mentioned nothing about quality...simply stating that this was not the first of its kind, not even second considering the engineer from Keltec went on to start SCCY and the CPX 1/2 are also the same capacity. Sig got it right with the looks, trigger and sights. But they didn't invent fire.
@@scotteger6271No issue with you, but I don't understand why every time there is a video or forum post about a P365 someone has to remind us about KelTec originating the compact magazine design. That's good for KelTec but they didn't do much with it. Sig used a similar magazine design and produced a far superior pistol in every way. Sig and KelTec are not in the same league. If the KelTec design was so great, no one would care about the P365 and we would all own KelTecs. BTW, I'm not a Sig fan and probably won't ever own a P365 or variant.
Awesome video. I'm really glad you mentioned the Shield Arms 15rd flush fit mag for the G43X and G48. With that I'd take the Glock reliability over the Sigs. Love your videos brother. 👍
Cow bizzle yep. That will change the game if proven reliable. The 365 with their 15 round will be longer in the grip than the 43X with shield arms mags
This is the first sig pistol that actually intrigued me👌🏻. The problem this one, I won’t trust it for appendix carry and would have to opt for off the body carry (no manual safety, no trigger safety).
Just got the XL and I love it. New to shooting I am concerned about concealed carry. Appears to me that any defensive shooting will land one in court. I welcome discussion here as I desire to carry daily. Love your videos.

I love you videos Sir. Your down to Earth approach and hands on demonstrations are helpful to see lots of details about the firearms you review. I must say that the bad technical terminology and occasional inaccurate statements are bothersome but not enough so that your reviews aren't still worthwhile.
Just got my p365 xl 3 days ago and it fails to go into battery every few rounds....tried a few hundred rounds to break it in, even tried sig brand ammo... and I'm returning this pos
End - I seen a few others remark on that issue and with them it had to do with magazine break in. After reloading the mags several times the problem went away.
Picked one up (XL) for $599 bought the $15 rd sig mag for $50! 15 in this size EDC was a game changer from the gate! Bye bye FN 509C, Glock 19! This is a true EDC 365/24/7 with extra punch for the bad guys
And you don’t have to change anything. p365 has great sights and good trigger. Great right out of the box. Only complaint I have is how expensive Sigs magazines are. Like to have at least 6 mags for each pistol and Sig’s magazines don’t seem better made then others but cost so much more.
GunmagWarehouse has all versions, $40 12/15 rounders and $32 for the 10 rounders. Honestly not great but no terrible when compared to most other handguns. I mean personally I think all hand gun mags are just way over priced with the exception of Glock mags in the last two years.
Wow that is a real contender vs. the Glocks, even a 19. My conceal carry handguns are very different from my primary to go handguns, but the P365 XL might must bridge that gap, and serve both roles well. Certainly a pistol to consider for me at least (never say never, right, I thought I was "done" with the Glock 19x). My only wish, as Sootch brought up, is that the rail would accept all the stuff I already have.
I have a 365 with the XL grip module, and just got a 365 XL that I haven’t gotten to the range yet (Hogue Handall grips sleeves on all). My 365 was a Tac Pac, so I already had the 12 round mags, and I have one mag with the magguts innards, but I haven’t shot that one yet. I also have a Glock 43X with lots of upgrades and Shield 15 round mags (the 43X has kept my G19 on the shelf). I’m looking forward to some range time with the XL vs the others. But thus far, I absolutely love them all!
