I payed around 575 if I remember correctly for mine in 2018. Love the gun, it feels good, accurate, not the easiest to conceal IWB, but lighter than a few of my 9mms. I like it! I’m in Cali so mines are 10rd 40 S&W
I bought my SP2022 40 S&W about 4 years ago. The worst thing about it was the trigger reset and over travel. It was also pretty snappy from the 40 cal. and lighter weight frame. Other then that it is a Sig quality excellent shooter. A few upgrades later and it’s an awesome shooter. I upgraded to a Galloway Precision full length SS captured spring (20lb) guide rod. Tames the recoil and tightens groups. I installed the Galloway Precision Hannibal fully adjustable trigger. Huge difference that trigger makes especially for the price. I then saw that Armory Craft makes a flat face fully adjustable trigger now for the SP2022. This trigger costs twice as much as the Hannibal and honestly, I kinda like that Hannibal better. Might put that one back in. All in all I feel the SP2022 is a badass pistol and definitely underrated. Also, it has an accessory 1913 rail and removable grip panels for different size hands. CDNN had some great prices on Mags.
I've had my SP2022 since 2012 with Sliglite sights. It's been shot and shot in classes as well as range practice and it chugs and chugs along. Never had a problem with any type of target rounds or SD rounds. I agree, it's a great gun!
In 1998 I bought the original SP2340 in 357sig and fell in love with the pistol. Over the years I have been buying all variations of this pistol. I have a total of 6 in all calibers and colors. I own from the SP2340, SP2009 to the SP2022. In 9mm, 40s&w and 357sig. In all black, two tones, fde and ghost grey. I have them all and love them all.
Bought mine used for $250 & it's best 250 I've spent on guns. I agree 2022 is built good & smooth as butter. This gun is a hidden gem for sure & I really enjoy shooting the SP2022 9mm . Thanks for review.
Great video. Subscribed! I was looking for reviews on these as I ran into one at my LGS recently. Your copy is very cool. I love the color and caliber!
Wow! I purchased mine, chambered in 9mm, brand new almost 4 years ago for $399.99. It's the two tone chrome slide on black frame model that has Sig night sights and came with a paddle holster. I love it!
I used to have several of these, including an FDE one like this. I have one SP2009 (the older version) left, only sold the others because I was in DIRE financial straits and had to make ends meet. These are great guns, I've noticed they are more expensive than they were 5 or 6 years ago, but when SIG P229s and P226s are mostly over $1000 new, the $500 or so these go for is still reasonable. Also for anyone who is interested, for the factory .40/.357 SIG 12-round magazines, you can get the MEC-GAR +2 extensions that are made for the 9mm 15-round magazines, and you can get 14 rounds in .40/.357 SIG mags. Take care.
Thanks Country Boy for another fine review! I just saw your review on the CZ 75 PCR yesterday, which I have recently purchased. And now your review on the Sig SP2022 today. I have already reserved and paid for one of these gems, but because I live in california, must wait for over a month to receive it because of the 30-day rule. I hope that all the pending lawsuits here will strike down the legislation here which violates the 2nd amendment. This review has made me even more excited about picking up my SP 2022 next month! Thanks again for putting out these informative and relevant reviews. I indeed smashed your subscribe button this evening!
I also don't understand why everybody is all of a sudden hating on 40 cal. Yes it has slightly less capacity but it also hits harder and does the job slightly better upon contact. It's a great round for people who can handle it but it may not be a good round for those with weaker hands or smaller stature.
I've had ny Sig 2022 40cal/10mm for years and it doesn't matter how long I let it in the locker, and then clean the dust off of it, and shoot out back it just pulls me back. I will say at first it feels heavy, it always, always never fails. A very under rated hand gun for sure. Main purpose for the carry is during hunting season here in South Central MO, is for addition support while in the field, becuase of other hunters (4 legged type) that come noising around!
The sig 2022 will definitely get you a lot of value for price.....plus, I have one in 9mm. Still need the 40cal and 357. Maybe a 10mm in the package would be awesome
A bare stainless slide 9mm version is a permanent part of my vehicle's GHB. Mine has SigLites, came with case, spare mag, and OEM holster. I added a SMALL grip module and Short Reach Trigger. I paid $425 OTD.
Great handgun, bought one used $380.00 came with o.g. box, 2 mags, holster and laser. Accurate and thin, definitely hit the target at the range on the 1st visit. Exiting
My former duty weapon was a 229 which I had to turn in sadly. I shot at SP 2022 and honestly thought the trigger was better than the standard 229. A buddy of mine that went to the Sig armorer'rs course told me that within the Sig company it's considered more reliable than it's more expensive siblings, 226/229.
Yeah that’s a load of crap. I love the sp2022 but the p226/p229 have nearly unmatched proven reliability. I don’t see any Navy seals running around with a sp2022. It hasn’t even remotely had similar amounts of verified testing and real world experience. Therefor there’s simply just no way to know how it’s reliability stacks up against them. But it’s only fair to assume it’s at BEST the exact same. Because you can’t really get any better than a p226. But If you’re thinking logically I think itd be even more fair to assume it probably isn’t quite as reliable or durable. Ask 15 people who know what they’re talking about which gun they think is more reliable and I guarantee you without a shadow of a doubt all 15 would agree the winners would be the p226 and p229.
@@AJ-gk7bn thanks for that info. I would have gone for the 229 legion, but im not so flush with cash. PS I was merely reporting what was told to me by whom I consider a smart and honest person. Maybe he was full of bs. There should be some data on reliability given it was used by French national police.
@@BradfordHills I saw another youtube video about an SP2009 in 9mm with a black frame, and chrome slide marked "US Secret Service" on the right side. For what that is worth, ;maybe' the Secret Service had some of these guns too.
watch this little blaster jump up in price because of this review. I remember P365's and other similar variants were like high 300's and mid 4's now going for close to a grand. I got 2 of these for 550 each and these were mid 300's guns and I paid 200 ontop. I looked at the prices for this has risen to 6 and up. Its going up in value. And now you cant find any for sale new. Its contract for the French legion is also going to expire so manufacture of this firearm will slow. Mine came from newington, NH. older ones came from Exeter.
P365 for a $1000? I see them all over for $525 - 575 & even the P365X with optic included is $860 granted they sell rather fast but last few months always in stock.
@@douglasphillips24 the xl ones go for a thousand, lmao. Not the regular p365. Anything that has sig or h&k or walther name slapped on it is worth like a grand or half a grand. They had a walther q4 sf and it was selling for 1350 at this pawnshop lmao. They aint kidding around with the prices.
My first Sig, paid $250 for it a few years ago and recently saw one in a pawn shop without night sights for $600. The price is going up on these, maybe because more people are discovering and loving them?
i have a 365 xl, 320 m17 -x compact the 2022 will be next best all around hand guns for money in my opinion something for everyone an more acc, than you can imagine, you can make it yours
Has anyone here put an optic on their sp2022? I am looking into adding one but having a hard time deciding which one? Definitely want to keep it on the “budget friendly” side. Thanks!
