I went with the 3.6 M&P. I have small hands and this has been the best fitting double stack that I’ve tried and I love the aggressive grip. The S&W came in nearly $200 dollars cheaper after my initial browsing and the mags are certainly cheaper too.

The modularity of the sig is for me the game changer! P320 can convert to: P320 X5, Full Size, XCarry, Compact or XCompact as well as the following calibers: 9mm | 38 | 40 S&W | 45 ACP All via x-change kits You can even change the grip sizes to better fit your hand size. It’s the AR-15 of hand guns...

Well, we do know that the M&P 2.0 Compact came right out of the production gate with ZERO issues. The thing has been superbly accurate, impeccably reliable, impressively ergonomic, exquisitely affordable, uniquely American and astoundingly durable. Though I don’t own the Sig, the grip frame felt like it was made of a cheesy grade of plastic. Note I said that it “felt “ that way to me. I have no clue how durable the plastic really is. The M&P appears to have more attention to detail to me. The chassis design really isn’t a selling point for me though I could see how some would like it. I also have to be honest and say that the rollout of the 320 was a disaster and it’s takes a long time to overcome a bad new product problem even after it’s been corrected. Obviously, they are both good guns but I just feel more confident with the 2.0 .

I’m fortunate to have both and like them equally. Both have different qualities I enjoy. The shield 3.1 performance model is great concealed carry option. While the sig sauer p320 Xcompact is also a great carry option. Shoot ability goes to the p320. While the shield just feels great all the way around. Very hard choice. Great review!

I don't like the hinged trigger either which is why I put an Apex trigger on my S&W M&P 2.0 sub compact, along with Truglo TFX Pro day / night sights. For me this is the perfect combination for my EDC carry. Love Sigs too though, I have a couple of Sig pistols as well.

I recently bought the Sig P320XC and I love it, the trigger pull is excellent for a polymer gun. The X-Ray night sights are well illuminated at night and the grip stippling could be a little more aggressive but none the less still a very well performing firearm.

My first time at the range with my new P-320 Compact .45 ACP today. I put 400 rounds of various ammunition weights and types downrange with zero malfunctions. The bore axis doesn't seem to be a huge issue. Maybe a little more flip. It shoots right to point of aim... my wife was just stacking holes with it... and she can rack the slide on it too. The grip could use a little more texture up high, but the shape is nice, I can get a pretty solid purchase on it, and it won't eat me up rubbing against my belly. I'm ordering a couple of holsters for it now because I will definitely carry this. I asked the ol' lady on the way home which pistol (besides hers) is her favorite to shoot and she said it's a tie between my CZ 97B and my CZ P-01... and I can't argue with that!... but it seems the Sig didn't take the top spot.

First there's the price difference but the plus for the Sig for me is were the trigger breaks unlike most striker fired guns that break all the way to the back of the trigger guard the Sig trigger breaks before all the way back to the trigger guard leaving a gap to the back of the trigger guard this is Sigs best feature in my opinion

I cannot get used to how high the full and compact SIG handguns sit.The 365 is perfect sub-compact, but anything bigger just feels like a handgun from 100 years ago. That said, I can understand why the military felt that was not an issue coming from the M9. But to any civilian who has significant time on a "wonder nine" it is a bad adjustment.

Well, I don’t have these but I do have the X-Carry and the 2.0 9C 4” and, while I like both these guns a lot, I don’t think that anyone who owns an “X” in any size is surprised by your conclusion. To me, the X grip feels a bit better all around. Then there’s the trigger. It’s like Glock reviewers used to say, “All you have to do is throw in the (pick a custom trigger) and the (pick an improved sight) and the Glock is the better gun.” As if the extra $250 was baked into price and not an issue. Except then it is in no way a direct comparison. And spending $175 for the Apex trigger system is the only way to make this a toe-to-toe faceoff. You are pretty much buying a custom trigger in the X (no, not the snapping icicle but maybe the snapping carrot, as Bill Geissele would say). You’re also getting built in night sights. I’m not a fan of these but the Sig X-ray system has won me over. Very, very nice. So, we’re talking about a pretty big price difference here, stock, but I really think you are getting every penny’s worth for the X. And, remember, I really do like my 2.0 Compact. It’s a beauty. So maybe you can’t really lose either way.

The Sig's longer barrel should help with velocities, maybe another 50fps. Depends on the powder of course. I have the P320 regular compact and am considering Sig's flat trigger as an upgrade. For me, accuracy improved when I bought (and used) the small grip module. As for carrying it, it's brick like to me but I never carried before. Most anything smaller is two-finger grip territory, and in an emergency I just don't feel confident in the accuracy with such a grip. Hurting a friendly would probably ruin my life.

I just am not a big fan of the IDEA of the 3.6” m&p for myself personally. The 4” conceals fine in the appendix position once you figure out wtf you’re doing, and you get the functionality of being able to use pretty much any common weapon light.

I own 3 M&P 2.0s, M&P 9mm EZ, a 4.25 inch with Wilson Battlesight and fiber optic front, and a 4" Compact with a Holoson 507c-X2. The full size and the compact now have Apex triggers. I love the guns with Apex triggers but if I had to keep the standard pivoted, two piece trigger, I would not own one. The EZ has a decent trigger and is easy to conceal. Great to have so many choices today. My most accurate gun with the softest recoil is the Landon Tactical Beretta LTT Elite with the Holoson 507c-X2. It is a tack driver. The Wilson WCP320 is on my list to look at. Really like your reviews.

I've been looking at these two guns but in full size for awhile now. This will be my first pistol ever owning. I shot them both including the gen5 glock 17 at the range and the Sig failed to eject the casing twice which concerned me a little. All three are awesome guns i wish i could buy them all.Thinking about which one to buy started to make my head spin since i really did int know what gun wanted. so i believe i will pick the M&P 2.0 because #1 american as fuck and #2 you cant go wrong with that grip.

KSGunguy… Thank you for another great non biased review of two great firearms. . I have the M&P 40 M2.0 and love it. I need to get more behind the trigger time before deciding to replace it with an Apex trigger. I also fell off the wagon and purchased the P320 X full-size with the Sig Romeo red dot included. The modularity along with the grip feel and that flat trigger just pushed me off that wagon. I am glad I did, as now I can maximize on the modularity and have my needs met without buying new firearms. If you have not done a video on the M&P 40 M2.0 5” with ported barbell and slide, you should try it.

I find myself in the opposite side of the fence on this one. I'm not a fanboy of S&W but in this comparison I would take the M&P 3.6. The 'bells & whistles' on the Sig are mostly cosmetic and not really worth the substantial price premium. I appreciate that you get the Sig awesome sights and a flat trigger shoe, but is that worth the extra $$$? I guess that's a personal decision. The Sig is retailing locally for almost $780 and for me, it feels cheap. In my hand it feels like a $400 for almost $800. The M&P feels like a $400 gun. As always, thanks for an awesome comparison. I always look forward to these!
@KSGunGuy01
@KSGunGuy01 5 лет назад
$780 is definitely too high for the Sig MD! I do agree that if you aren’t looking for the dot cutout and X Ray sights, the Sig’s value drops quite a bit. The M&P is an exceptional value out of the bot, though I always want to change the sights and trigger which adds to the bottom line. Thankfully, you can choose the sights which gives it an advantage. Thank you and cheers brother!

I bought a sig p320 x compact. I sold my smith and wesson 2.0 compact, and I no longer own a glock 19. The sig shoots better for me, and I've even accepted the sig romeo optics as great options for rmr type optics. I've had a p365 for 8 month and now have a p365xl. I've got 1k rounds through the p320x compact and I love it. Sigs doing some great things in my opinion. Ive never been a sig fan and now I've got 3.

Thing that kills it for me on the Signs is the high bore axis. You can see in the video that it has it's way with you a little more. The concept of a 15 round magazine with a 3.6" barrel is awesome though. Also being on a larger frame than the smaller pistols like the P365 and Shield size, they are way more manageable to shoot. Both are great choices. I still feel Sig could have made a lower bore axis and they just kept the P250 DAK geometry. If you're going to shoot a striker fired pistol, take advantage of being able to have a lower bore axis.

The most ergonomic pistol I own is also the cheapest: the Ruger Security 9. I also own the M&P 2.0 4" and run the smallest grip to mimic that. I have Large-XL hands but I find the smallest grip most comfortable. Most people do if they just get over the size issue. 99% of gun channels feel the need to overcompensate.
@KSGunGuy01
@KSGunGuy01 5 лет назад
What are most channels overcompensating for? Grip size? Lol. Because other people like different ergonomics and grip size, they are overcompensating? That's the equivalent of saying "you can't have an opinion, only I can and it's always right".

I don't know if the author is still watching the comments on this, but it' now a few years later. Smith has since come out with a version of the gun in this video with a new flat trigger, and a factory optics cut. I don't know if he had a chance to handle / shoot one of these. But I'd be interested to see how he thought that compared to the SIG.

The 2.0 texture should be the standard for all pistols.. I keep waiting for the day we figure out what smith designed that uses these same mags wo the spacers.. they had a great chance with the shield xl to make the grip just a bit longer to use the 8rnd mags wo spacer.. no one buys extra 7rounders lol.. The more I shoot the M&P pistols the more I’m a fan of the ergos as they simply seem to have really nailed a better grip shape design with the slightly narrower but deeper grips. They carry better and fit my had way way better then any other pistol out there.. Why did sig run the texture all the way up the sides. But soo short on the back strap? The backstrap is arguably where you need texture more then anywhere else in the grip frame.. if I were to design a pistol I’d even try running it under the beaver tail tbh.. it might run you raw but I’d def try it pre production.. no one has ever complained that backstrap texturing was too high but many have too short.. Smith really seems to understand this.. they clearly make pistols that real shooters test not pistols that are tested by non shooters. Odd thing.. till I bought my second M&P pistol I really wasn’t a big fan. Those rifles are second to none for durability, accuracy and price.. the sports out shoot most $1500 guns lol.. but the pistols have always been a different story for me.. I’ve been a p226/m92 fan forever when it comes to pistols.. bought many glocks for carry guns cause well.. they were glocks.. I see a lot of M&P pistol purchases in the near future.. wife wants to replace her 938 with the 380ez, the shield 2.0 has already replaced my g19 as my edc standard. I used to carry it only for comfort in certain wardrobe choices or extended days of carrying, but it’s now the standard for me. I’ve played around with a lot of modern sigs and the triggers for me are just complete garbage.. they feel like a toy gun trigger with sooo much unneeded feedback before they walk. Feels like every part in the trigger group didn’t get finished and needs not polishing but grinding to smooth out. I like zero feedback triggers.. I want air. Wall. Break. The M&P have a bit of cheap.. but a $10 saftey plunger removes that. I’ve never had an issue with the weird hinged trigger design like many though and honestly can’t tell it apart from a glock shoe or any other really.

I love your "only one" series (in fact I've waited 400 years for it). Original and compelling. I go with the Sig p320 - with one you can have all (with the removable fire control group). I also would prefer an RMR, but they can push the Sig optic because it has a cowitness rear sight notch ON the back of the Sig red dot body. That's likely why the rear sight is attached to the optics plate.

Update: After 2k rounds through my sig p320x compact; I can honestly say I do not regret parting company with smith and Wesson m&p and glock 19s. The triggers down to 4lbs and this gun shoots fast for me. Sig hit a home run outta the box with the p320 x compact. I have a p365 and p365xl and I can say I'm a sig fan. The closest thing to a sig I have ever owned before these three guns is a Colt/Sauer rifle in 3006. That's a fine shooting rifle too.

I've been watching some of your vids (you have many of the guns I do), I want to say that I appreciate that your reviews seem very honest. Many of the other channels seems more like glorified commercials or glocksuckers, but you seem to give your honest feedback. The thing I noticed most, and appreciated, is that you seem to do your reviews on stock guns. I noticed that you even mentioned and sorta redid this when it was brought up in your comments that you were testing an upgraded, though I guess technically still stock/factory/whatever version of the glock. I can not stand reviews where someone is comparing their favorite with upgraded trigger, grip, sights to a stock gun and just kinda mention that in passing. EDIT: Oh and I subbed.
