Two little snippets from a fun day sight fishing for big browns in New Zealand with my mate Noah. These fish are very inactive during the day as they run up from the lake and require persistence with natural nymphs, or something big that could trigger a reaction. Nice fish. Good to see even the master gets the same treatment from these browns. My last one ate a jig streamer after....a lot of changes.

Yeah they can be a total pain! They just sit there and drive you crazy sometimes. Great when they finally eat though. I guess this one took like 40 casts

What exactly is a level euro nymphing leader, please. Is it just a length of mono? Great fishing

I put a small mop on and then it ate the caddis on the dropper 😅

@@olliebassettflyfishing never caught a fish on a mop. But then again not a confidence fly for me. Usually cycle through from more natural to attractor patterns. Mop as a last resort. Squirmy in dirty water is a 1st choice though! Might reverse my logic one day. Cheers Ollie, enjoying your vids.
