Good vid - thx for the reminder. When qualifying with the M-16 for the USAF you couldn't see much detail of the target so we were taught to do exactly what you said: Focus on the front site and center it to the target. Everything was blurry (esp the target!) except that front sight. Worked real well but I'd forgotten that tip (I've slept a few times in the past 35 years!).
Don’t look at the front dot when your intention is to make a very precise shot. Instead look at the very top edge of the front sight and line up that black steel edge with your ear sight. For faster shooting at close range it’s ok to use the front white dot as your aiming reference. But for precision, focus intently on the top edge of the front sight.
What I do is instead of using your sights to aim use the firing hammer as the sight basically aim the hammer at center mass and when u do that u should have a good headshot placement with no time taken up because u use the lower part of your gun at certain range u determine if u use the hammer the bottom or whatever but as long as if u aim the hammer at center mass at a certain range ur sights should be aligned to the head for a easy and no time taking headshot usually only use at 20 yards or lower usually 15 if your a newbie But with a ar I get a plate like a little toothpick angle my gun so the tip of my toothpick is where the bullet should go get a marker and aligned the toothpick tip at headshot and mark where center mass is with the marker and boom when each time u aim center mass u have a perfect headshot placement it was a trick I used in fbi because can't always kill with a body shot because it's just to risky if there where amour it's probably the best thing to do if there whereing a helmet always aim for the neck
This video needs to be longer to talk about keeping both eyes open and aligning the sights with your dominant eye. Could have spent another 30 seconds on that. Why are these videos so short? They leave out important info for new shooters.
