You can also go inside and to the top of the Lighthouse on Saturdays from 9 to 10am. Only costs a few dollars per person. Also, this fall or early spring, there will be a small unique roller coaster along side the ferris wheel. Big Play has all sorts of activities for kids to adults. From arcade games, go-karts to a brand new roller coaster.
Thank you for this video. I spent three years stationed at Keesler back in the 1980s, and Biloxi was home to me. In April I will be returning for a visit for the first time since then. A lot has changed in the meantime, such as the casinos coming in, restaurants and nightclubs disappearing and new ones popping up. Your video gave me a glimpse of what to expect. I will also be visiting my old base. A lot has changed there as well.
This is my hometown..Great video! I’d just like to add that I hope you were able to visit “The Tatonut Shop” It’s a donut shop in Downtown Ocean springs it’s one of our most prized possessions!..so so so Good!I will literally drive back home 8hours for these donuts!
Great video! I'm from Jackson, but I now live in Illinois. I've taken my wife to Gulfport a few times and we are considering retiring in Ocean Springs. This was actually my first glimpse of Ocean Springs! We'll be there in July and can't wait to explore Gulfport, Biloxi, and Ocean Springs!
Hi David!! Thank you! I was super surprised with Ocean Springs, this is just a little part there is so much charm in the older section off the beaten path by the main road. So cute! Congrats on your upcoming move/retirement! I appreciate your comment have a great day!
Absolutely!! I was pleasantly surprised by Ocean Springs we usually just pass by to go to Biloxi! Super cute 😍. Also Gulfport is great they have a fun downtown scene it's not huge but some nice things too I didn't have time to video over there this day but I want go back and check it out 😀
Biloxi also has a new attraction. The original one is in Jackson Mississippi. But Morgan Freeman and some other partners manage to talk investors into bringing Ground Zero to Biloxi. It is one of the newer places, blues and brews and food and jazz and that kind of stuff at this place. It is right behind the hospital on Howard Avenue right next-door to the ax throwing place. y’all come down and try it out. I do rideshare, and I have people always ask me what is there to do. And I just say if you can’t find anything to do down here. You must be really bored. There are so many things that you can do down here. Yeah I’ll come back and I’ll come down. Y’all have fun. See you soon.
Nice video and good job. But one sightseeing you overlooked was further west, beyond Keesler AFB sign, and to the right... "Beauvoir", Jefferson Davis's last home. Open for sightseeing. Also a drive through old town historic Biloxi. I can be found at the Va Cemetery in Biloxi in about 10 yrs or so, maybe more maybe less, if you wanna drop by and say hello. I was a paperboy in Biloxi. Delivered the local newspaper on both sides of the RR track way back in 1960 or so. Our rental house is still standing. Step father was Keesler AF.
Thanks for the comment, I love your knowledge on this area! I will certainly check this out. There is so much to explore. What a blessing that you have been able to live here, such a lovely place! 😍 I appreciate you!
Biloxi beach is less crowded than other beach destinations and have the beach more to yourself. The water may not be beautiful like Florida but it’s just water but offers white beaches. And it’s more affordable to stay there
Hi! I’m coming down to spend three nights, two short days in Biloxi from Minnesota. Flying into Gulfport. What are two things that I can’t miss? I am a cruiser too. Booked on my 41st cruise in February on the refurbished carnival pride, and will be celebrating my 25th milestone cruise with Carnival!
Hey have a fun trip!! I would say pier park looks fun and Margaritaville arcade is so huge!!! I never go without a drive down beach blvd along the coast. Also the Pride is so amazing! Happy 25th cruise!!!
I’m banned from virtually most places in this town. I was homeless there from 5/9/2022-7/2/2022. (It’s a long story, but in short, got stranded there, when I had gone down for a job that apparently fell thru, with no access to my money and no cell phone, which had broke shortly after getting there. Furthermore, there are no Bank of America lobbies in Mississippi! Brutal!) lol.
Without them there would be nothing. The gulf is very shallow and not anything like the Emerald Coast between P-Cola Beach to Panama City Beach, water color or sand color. But still, full of palm trees and still a nice enough beach plus the scenic coastal drive. We live in Walton County FL near the coast and with few exceptions, like the super cold a few days ago, it's as advertised. Beware of lots of traffic though on 6-lane US-98 a.k.a. I-98, plus v. busy 30a. We enjoy getting away from this here so-called "paradise" every few weeks. Headed for Half Moon Cay in Feb out of Jax FL on a cruise. Nothing there except the beautiful beach. Trip #10 so far. Been to Vegas several times. Bottom line, we enjoy coastal MS.
With lots of panhandle drugs people who will rod you for drugs don't waste your money time I lived here for years and got sick of the way of life and got the HELL OUT
