Why did I want to say peek a boo when you ducked down and popped back up? LOL Thank you for reviewing different brands of lenses. Great for a person on a limited budget such as myself. I have a 50mm and now need a fast wide angle. Will check these out.

You missed a trick on the Viltrox - Aperture control. There is a Dual Mode aperture ring which can be set to Auto to be controlled via the camera, or the full f16 - f1.4 can be selected on the lens. This ring is also 'de-clicked' for smooth, quiet manual operation during video shooting.

Thanks so much for the review. These both look great, but I'm quite surprised at how much I liked the viltrox's image quality. Your face stood out to me, it looked better with the viltrox. I'm guessing it's that barrel distortion, even if slight, on the sigma. Now it's got me wondering if the viltrox is the better option for filming/shooting people? Great video.

As next lens I would still go for the sony sel35f18, oss is for me more important than f1.4 and the difference to f1.8 is ok for my usecases.

Viltrox 23mm f1.4 is nice - same vignette at f1.4 as the 33mm. I have not tried the Sony Zeis 24mm f1.8.

I own the sigma 30mm and I FREAKING love it. It's perfect for beginers and still good for more advanced. If you can combined it with a great all-around zoom lens (i personnaly have the Sony 18-105mm f/4) it's the perfect combo, because you can shoot almost everything with the zoom and can have a Sharp prime lens with the sigma 30 for portrait, for exemple. Ps : im sure the viltrox is pretty good too. Nice review, super informational!! Great job👍🏼

@@kyletaggart I was looking at these when looking for a 50mm. (Went with a Sony one) They do have auto focus and also have a usb port for lens updates though unsure what you would update on a lens. Be cool to see a review on one of these. Then you could explain what you would update on it.

You don't need an adapter when using any e mount lens with a Sony a6000.

I think it comes down to price. If you have the budget, the Sony is my favorite at the 30mmish focal length.

The sigma seems to rack focus a bit faster, but the Viltrox is smooth. Viltrox looks like someone is pulling focus manually 😀👍 Great review Bro.

For far away? Sony 70-350 G lens. Or a full frame lens. Or, short range zoom Sony 16-55 f2.8 G lens. Budget - Sony 55-210

I just had the Sigma 30mm and it was sharp, yes. This was the reason I chose it over the Viltrox. But the chromatic abberation was so strong and distracting, I sent it back. I love my Viltrox 56mm and just ordered the Viltrox 33mm - let's see if it is as good as the 56mm! I am talking about the EF-M versions of the lenses, but I have no reason to believe that this makes a difference.

Both are great honestly. I think the Viltrox 33mm is very underrated. I’d say if one is cheaper just get the cheaper one and save a couple bucks. The one thing in the Viltrox is the aperture ring. If you’re worried you may hit that and change the setting, then maybe to sigma.
