Sigma ART 24/70 f:2.8 L Mount Autofocus en continu en video avec les Lumix S, est-ce que c'est bon ?

Le 24/70mm f:2.8 SIGMA ART est une belle alternative au 24/105 f:4 de chez Lumix, il est quasiment au même prix. Est-ce que sont autofocus en video est meilleur que celui du pana ? Est-ce que l'ouverture f:2.8 est un vrai argument face au f:4 du Lumix ? 24/105 ou 24/70 ?

Je filme beaucoup d'événementiel avec le Lumix S1 et avec l'objectif de base 24-105mm. Après quelques mois j'ai acheté le 24-70 de Sigma (parce que 2500€ le Lumix, c'est beaucoup) et surprise ! Incroyable ! le test des deux montre que les couleurs sont très similaires, le piqué est juste fou, l'autofocus je ne l'ai pas trop utilisé mais le focus manuel est 100x plus agréable et facile que le Lumix. j'ai abandonné le 24-105 au fond de mon placard

J’ai une question: est ce que cet objectif a des défauts optiques comme de la distortion? Parce que c’est un problème qui est très marqué pour l’optique 24-70 f/2.8 sigma art pour sony, et je me demandais si on avait le même problème avec l’optique 24-70 f/2.8 sigma art pour la ligne S panasonic …

Super comparatif, est ce qu'un des deux objo est stabilisé par hasard ? Je vais peut être lacher mon gh5 pour le s5 et je me tate sur le zoom polyvalent à prendre sachant que je fais surtout du doc en vidéo avec 99% des plans faits à main levée

I’m a French-American. I speak fluent French but I cannot spell it very well. So I’ll write my comment in English! Anyhow, great video my friend. Nice review. I’m currently trying to decide whether to buy the LUMIX s5 with the 20-60 kit lens, or with the 24-70 Sigma. Do you have any opinion?

je comprends pas ce choix de comparaison plutôt que son équivalent en 2.8, le 24-105 et bon polyvalent piqué mais reste moins lumineux qu'un 2.8, je vais prendre un S1 a côté parce que j'aime ce boitier est s'arrangerais bien de le comparé a son concurrent directe sa pourrait me faire une économie entre les sigma et le S pro 2.8. j'aurais aimer voir si y'a une grosse différence en af entre les sigma ou le le S pro si la différence vaut la peine ou pas. j'ai le sigma chez sony et il était moins cher plus pique bord a bord que le GM MK1 mon choix a été rapide . la on sait pas, je vais commencé par le kit S1 24-105 avec d focal fixe 1.8

*Avec le recul lié à plus de 40ans de pratique (j'ai commencé à 14ans et j'ai eu mon premier réflex à 18) ! les optiques hyper lumineuses j'en suis revenu ! Elles sont très chères (elles coûtent un bras et une jambe en tous cas pour mon 200mm F2,0) pas forcément meilleures que les F4 constant, de plus on n'utilise que rarement la pleine ouverture ! Actuellement je m'aperçois que je suis plus souvent à F8,0 que F2,0 ! N'est-ce que personnel ?*

Merci 😊👍🏼 Perso, je trouve les objectifs de la marque « Sigma » ultra quali ! 🤗🤗 Ps : Petite question: le coté marketing et calendrier fait que le nouveau ASIII de chez Sony se retrouve en VS contre le R5 de chez Canon dans bcp de vidéos test ou review ces derniers jours, mais je me demandai que vaut le S1H de Lumix Panasonic face au ASIII ?? Et d’un point photo et Vidéo ? Voilà 🤗😉

Je pourrais me contenter de te répondre oui, mais ca ne serait pas juste, en intérieur comme en extérieur, cela dépend de la quantité de lumière présente, de la sensibilité et du boitier que tu utilises ... j'aimerai pouvoir mieux t'aider@@laurentwolsdorfer6909 mais c'est difficile de te répondre, car ta question manque de précision. Sigma c'est très bien et 24/70mm f:2,8 c'est parfait en vidéo au format APS ou super 35mm. Mais le problème de ce modèle, c'est la longueur de l'objectif qui change en fonction de la focale utilisée (zoom à pompe comme on disait autrefois). Cela interdit l'utilisation d'une matte box classique sur rail. C'est la raison pour laquelle j'ai opté pour le 18-35mm, plus lumineux et moins cher, malgré son amplitude focale plus limitée. Pour ce qui est de l'autofocus, SIGMA n'a jamais été un foudre de guerre, d'ailleurs j'utilise mon SIGMA uniquement en manuel et en vidéo. J'ai tenté de l'utiliser en photo en autofocus sur un reflexe Canon, mais j'ai vite arrêté quand j'ai vu le nombre de photos floues qu'il produisait. Les SIGMA ART sont très piqués et le bokeh est beau, mais il faut oublier l'autofocus.

"... Les SIGMA ART ... mais il faut oublier l'autofocus. " C'est étrange. J'ai remplacé mon Canon EF 20-105 f/4 par Sigma 24-105 f/4 ART quand j'ai acheté le Canon 5dsr. Le 24/105 de Canon n'est pas du tout piqué sur ce boîtier. J'ai jamais eu de problèmes avec le AF sur le Sigma 24-105 f/4 ART et pourtant je l'ai utilisé avec d'autres boîtiers de Canon de la série 1 et 5. Il est aussi rapide (en photo) que le Canon. Même avec S1 c'est correcte.

Bonjour Emmanuel, avec ce test tu fais la démonstration que ton Lumix à un autofocus assez poussif. Et je ne sais pas pour Panasonic mais en Sony utiliser un objectif non stabilisé en vidéo c'est bof alors que la combinaison des deux est juste géniale avec en plus un autofocus performant et fiable c'est quand même plus confortable que de se demander si finalement on est net ou pas .Bref en vidéo je ne m'aventurerais pas à acheter une optique non stabilisée...

Great demo - hard to come by. Also nice to dust off French since school 20y ago. ;) Lumix got hunting and background pulsing unter control. But it seems too slow for tracking action... G9 with 10-25 is faster for that... FF competitors too - but no IBIS/XLR convenience. Thanks for the info - cheers from Austria

@@AIP404 The thing is: Pana AF is a complicated topic. I see it as rear engine in a Porsche 911. Most people would say: "Are you insane? The 911 concept is a classic." Yet the positioning of weight is clearly inferior and everybody else does it different. Porsche still finds ways to make it appealing and turn the negatives in positives. With the Lumix AF it is similar. It nets a big advantage with rolling shutter. Comparing the S1 to its competitors is comical. Lumix is on to something great soon. You can see this already with newer bodies: The object awareness is new and extremly useful. I got some shots of animals that just pop up in the woods and are gone in an instant - because the camera "sees it" as an animal. The way Lumix cameras see the world and are able to interpret it is unique... and imo the closest to AI and "the future". (Scary future... ;) Unfortunately the tracking is definitely behind - it has to be, technically. It can only be on point if the camera realizes where the subject is headed - predicting the motion based on samples. The weak link in the chain here is the processing power of the camera. It's the reason why the S1 is slower in all that than the G9. Processing 4 times the sensor takes its toll. Even the older GH5 beats the S1 in AF follow speed, but it doesn't see objects and people as such. It just looks for a circle - the face - with two dots - the eyes - like every other AF-sys of at least a decade. --- Sigma lenses are designed for the AF-tech of "everybody else". The 24-70 is a new design and should be an exception. Every other Sigma lens is pretty much underwhelming in AF-performance. Also try AFF, not AF-C. AF-C is for rapid action only. AFF does the same, but with a lot less hunting. Cheers

@@AIP404 AFF should be a mode when the AF-switch is on AFS. Don't have S here to confirm, hopefully next week H will arrive. It doesn't work in video, but is better suited for unpredictable movement of subject. In AFC its more algorithm. I always keep it on joystick up - set to AFS/AFF in photo. Mic level in video. Joystick press to get the normal select box. You got a good point with the rolling shutter. Olympus uses phase too and performs as good as Lumix MFT bodies. I still think they are up to something with the AF... but it should happen rather sooner than later. ;) Those Sigma lenses are made new for mirrorless, yes - but that is more Sony and Sigmas own cam line. They can't say otherwise, it's an alliance... In those new lenses the AF-motors behave better than the older DSLR-designs, but it is not designed to work with contrast detect AF of S or Leica cams. It is just working faster, more silent and better... because its a new lens design. This is opinion of course - you can check with the 35 1.2 . The 1.4 versions are inconvenient to use on the S bodies. The 1.2 is... "not perfect", but ok. I personally decided to skip Sigma lenses because of that - the 24-70 would have been the exception and it seems indeed workable here. On the other hand - I thought the same of the 10-25 on the GH5... Worked flawless for hours and it betrayed my trust just a couple of days ago when I needed it the most. Just went off to the background for solid 3 minutes.. 45 probably the biggest letdown. I had high hopes and loved the design/weight. 1424 - no clue - could it be as workable as the 2470?

@@AIP404 Ok ok ... I believe you. ;) So much for educated guessing - damn you Panasonic. On the other hand: Not many people understood the AFF to begin with... It's just the other two as a market standard by now. Sorry for insisting. The lagging is a problem and won't get a remedy anytime soon. I can see the issue... Tried the EOS R just to get reference (and you know - avoid assumptions) and it is magical in comparison with AFC and tracking. It feels digital though... the whole thing. In the end the S feels more like a camera - which is somehow important to me when taking photos. Thanks for the info So you love wideangle That explains the need for FF. The Sigma 24-70 Native L Mount lens has one severe design flaw. It does NOT have a smooth ramping aperture. When shooting video, it will stair step as it opens and closes. It will land on every 1/3 stop as it moves. This creates a strong and harsh exposure "jolt" problem. You can't have the aperture do smooth aperture pulls. This is on the S1 and S1H. However, L Mount Lumix lenses do not have this problem. Their aperture's are perfectly smooth as they open and close much like a true camcorder video camera would do. For Sigma, this is a shame. No modern native mount lens should ever have this problem in video in 2020.

@@sigmafrance - Sigma has no firmware updates for the L Mount 24-70 at the moment. My S1 and S1H are both on the latest firmware. I spoke to Sigma and this admitted that this stepping aperture issue is a real thing and it's part of the design of the lens. Two different Sigma support techs told me that they are not sure it can be fixed with a camera or lens firmware release. (although they did not rule out that a software fix "might" be possible) It's too late for me, I already returned mine. I was forced to buy the very expensive Lumix 24-70 instead. At least Panasonic made their lens with a buttery smooth ramping camcorder-style aperture. (at least somebody was thinking about that)

ce sigma a l'air meilleur que les autres....moi j'ai acheté le sigma 35mm 1.4 en monture L et je l'ai renvoyé a Sigma. L'autofocus était une catastrophe en video.😒😒😒
