For the gangs in the favela, and most people below the middle upper class, national pride is literally all they have, they don't have money, and they live in areas of extreme poverty. Plenty of Malandro's would be down to get Chael, and some have enough resources to do this without even really sweating. An organization like Comando Vermelho could easily carry out a hit one someone like Chael, even through his security. Vitor Belfort was already famous and wealthy when they kidnapped and most likely killed his sister. Money doesn't mean much in Brazil unless you are the top 0.1%, if you catch someone's eye your best bet is honestly to leave the country. I work for FOX and back when we had the UFC I would run into the fighters all the time. Off the mic the and no camera, the coolest guys were Rashad Evans, Chael, Michael Bisping and Kenny Florian. Chael is this way for show but he’s actually very nice in person.
One of the best showman in the past century. Even once you realized he was putting on a character after seeing him a few times, it was still equally entertaining, and hilarious.
