For decorations go to Tonalá. You can use the subway to go there. On a different topic, I saw your Chapalita video where you mention Texan BBQ. I have been exploring the BBQ scene here in GDL, and this weekend I bought some brisket and ribbs at Brisket House. I strongly recommend it.

Just go to Tonala to buy your decorations. You'll find everything you need and more. You'll spend hours walking and will want to buy everything you see. One day there might not be enough though, because there is so much to see. Crafts, arts, food, etc. You will not regret it, I promise. Go, see, take pictures (ask first), go home and decide what you need and then return and buy what you really need.
@@jackieturner4629 Tonala is like a huge swap meet and it's very unique. It has hundreds of colorful arts, crafts, furniture, food, drinks, etc. It's a very unique place to visit. The stores in the area display their merchandise outdoors every Thursday and Sunday.
@@TheYarbros Don't forget "El Ballet Foklorico de La Universidad de Guadalajara" in the Teatro Degollado in Downtown Guadalajara on Sundays a.m. They might not be performing at this time because of the pandemic, but if you have a chance, go see it, it's amazing. Tonala's best days to visit is Thursday and Sunday. Enjoy

Also, from your video it seems that you live near Parque Metropolitano. Also it seems that your apartment is not that far away from Chapalita. They just recently finished building a bike lane on Av. Guadalupe which you might be able to use if you want to get to Chapalita.

15,000 pesos--just googled. That's 717 USD. I feel that is a great price to feel inspired. I spent a minute in Guadalajara in 2008. Found it to be a great place. It looks, though, like it's gotten a lot of new development!

Tonalá and Tlaquepaque are a must to visit and you can find beautiful home decorations. I am happy for both of you for getting the apartment you wanted.
Welcome to GDL, we need more people like you living here, I am glad you found a good deal, for wifi, I highly recommend you Axtel instead of Telmex as the connectivity is overall better, land line is not really used anymore so buy a cellphone plan in Mexico and you are covered.
Hi guys!! So happy for you! For home decor you can try Home Store (there are a few around the city), Liverpool or even Beth Bath & Beyond in Plaza Patria. If your style is more mexican handcrafted accessories then yes, Tlaquepaque or Tonalá might work for you. You can also go to Landmark, there are many stores for decor and design but a little bit more up scale. Up to you guys. Big hug!

Yes, Tonalá is the cheapest place to buy Mexican decorations, go to the ‘Tianguis’ day which I believe is on Sundays and Thursday..I will recommend to go the earliest possible and wear comfortable shoes. Looking forward to you videos

We heard horror stories about the traffic here but it is just city traffic bad during rush-hours but nothing too serious throughout the day and we LOVE the weather here so far. Thanks for the support. I hope we can be a resource for your move.
It is great you are enjoying our city. The apartment is very nice :) Just as other mentioned, Tonala is your place to go for affordable decor, although also a couple of plants (if you are into it) could be nice. I just bought 3 small cacti at a "vivero" (plant 'shop') for 66 pesos.

You should go to the antiques market Trocadero (open every Sunday). I'd be glad to show you around the market and bazars in the area if you like. My house is decorated with 90% furniture and stuff from there. You can get good deals and unique pieces . Congrats for the apartment!
In Tonalá you can find good paintings, and traditional to elegant furnitures, as well as in Tlaquepaque for traditional furniture and artwork. For modern , more into US tastes in furniture at logical/high prices , the most common is Muebles Plascencia of course there are more elegant and expensive options around the city. But wait there’s a weekend with kinda Black Friday (named EL BUEN FIN ) offers coming in November , you can get discounts and you can pay in 12-18 and even 24 months without interest which is very common here. Even on Amazon Mexico if you buy 2500 pesos or more you get up to 12 months without interest ( MSI ). Of course there are painting galleries but also at Glorieta Chapalita , that you mentioned, some incipient painters sell their artwork. Liverpool Andares which is I think the zone you are living in, has the biggest options in furniture from all Liverpool, it’s kinda expensive but on Xmas or El Buen Fin you get offers, even at Costco , should you need any recommendation regarding Jalisco please feel free to ask me .
