Thank You. This is a great how to video. Like how you went step by step and explained everything and made it easy to understand. I'm going to buy a unlocked android phone and switch to Simple Mobile. Just need to make sure it has all the right bands. And I aiso sub your channel.
I used to be a MintSIM customer, and subsequently a Republic Wireless GSM customer. Both of those MVNOs also use T-Mobile; however, the phone on MintSIM never did work away from WiFi, while the phone on Republic Wireless worked just fine whether it had access to WiFi or not. Assuming that the discrepancy above was a MintSIM issue, not a T-Mobile issue, the $25 plan ($20/month with auto top-up) would be quite adequate for me -- esp. with the current promo where the 1GB data is increased to 3GB. (I wonder if that reverts back to 1GB data/month at the end of the promo period, or if one keeps the 3GB afterwards, as long as one signs up for that plan during the promo period?) I do like Best Buy's $50 off on unlocked phones if one buys a Simple Mobile SIM and top-up card, too.
I have not tried Mint SIM yet. As far as I now, Republic uses their own technology to choose between the WiFi and cellular networks. According to Simple Mobile customer service, you keep the 3GB of data as long as your account is active and you don't change your phone number. I discuss this is my later video on Simple
@@salvadorreveles You always want to check the provider's or MVNO's coverage map before switching (by specifying the addresses you will most likely be using your cell phone at, usually your home and work/school addresses). If you will be bringing an existing phone to the new service provider, you will also need to confirm that the existing phone will work on the service provider's network.
@@SmartphonemattersI have an iPhone 6s on simple mobile that uses the t-mobile network which I haven’t set up yet until I go on vacation in December because I’m going to Jamaica this year and I still have my iPhone 13 that’s currently using t-mobile network so this time: I’ll be using my personal phone (my iPhone 13) and my work phone to be (iPhone 6s) and my dad has two phones (his iPhone 13 personally and his iPhone 10 for work) and I’m currently working on using my iPhone 6s for work at the waterpark soon and I’m hopefully that this will work..
They still have that awesome cheap plan , and after 3 months at $20 it is only $23. 3GB nobody compares for that price. And they have very liberal roaming policy.
I think so but I haven't tried to set it up yet. When I put the SIM in the iPhone I received some text messages from Simple Mobile. One was about E911 with WiFi Calling so I am hopeful. I spent so much time messing with the Verizon Galaxy S7 and Simple Mobile so I just wanted to get something published. I'll have a part 2 (hopefully much shorter) coming soon.
smartphonematters that would be great to know. Thanks!! Did I tell you I signed up for a company named BetterSim who uses the T-Mobile network? You get unlimited talk, text, and data for $39 a month. Here is the link and you'll save $5 for the first month, bettersimco.refr.cc/josesantana
In the past the included a card in the box with you plan service pin. They may know automatically add it to the phone when you activate it. Best contact their customer support by online chat
that is a good price but people should also realize the data. does not roll over from month to month. It will expire at the end of the monthly cycle. I'd avoid the $10 or $20 data add unless you know you'll use all the data before your plan renews.
The deals I talked about here and in other videos are for phone and plan bundle deals. for the latest deals see smartphonematters.com/simplemobile-latest-deals
They sent me a verizon compatible sim card even though I'm a t-mobile customer (metropcs), I've been trying to activate it for an hour now and it's still not working. I'm assuming the sim card is the problem, correct?
I know this video was uploaded along time ago i had simple mobile for a long long time & never had an issue i only switched to tmobile cause it works up in canada when i used to travel there but simple mobile was amazing. i don't know if u know or not? but i haven't had it activate for a very long time.. do u know if i can still reactivate it? only asking or wondering cause my ps4 account that i had is set up in 2 step verification & i wanna try to reactivate it but i am not sure if i am able too.. it's been a long time since i used it..
I assume you are trying to get your old phone number back? You can reactivate your old account on Simple mobile and if your phone number has not been reassigned you should get it back. They don't guarantee that beyond 30 day i think so it is a gamble.
Í got that same sim kit.got it it for my lg k31 rebel.wich is on simple mobile.it says compatible with t-mobile right on it.i had to get it to reactivate it.to replace a 6s+.my sister gave me.after she got a 11 for her bday.from her husband.i deactivated the 6s.coz i didnt have the lightning usb.it wasnt charging.idk she had one.didnt tell me.till after i deactivated it.no money for mins to reactivate it.was so upset.i told her when she gave it to me.no charger.was using apple usb that barely worked.on a lg wall plug.simple mobile wanted me to get a sim from them.for my lg.i kept trying to tell them.no debit or credit card.they wouldnt listen.i went to my local family dollar.got it there.brought it home.activated the lg.after much arguing with those idiots.i hate simple mobile
About to post a video I just made...warning customers about how they rip people off, real-time, falsely adjusting the orders! Furthermore, "Jullio" informed me, AGAIN, that after discovering this a week into my service turning to shit, I am being held responsible!? Well...the video paints a completely different picture. Screw this. Switch from any Simple Mobile carrier, unless you're a masochist. I was even lied to, "We checked the whole records..." To paraphrase. When I corrected him by stating that he'd in fact only checked 2 out of 10 months, he agreed and made a liar out of him and his company. I thanked him, and instead of allowing me to pay the sum of a few dollars, this dummy said that I was welcome. Done! I will be reposting with my video link.
I am new to Simple Mobile my question is can I take the SIM card out of one phone and put it into another and will it work or do I need to call in like with Metro PCS the switch Sim between phones.
@@Smartphonematters . Well my experience with MetroPCS I have two phones if I take SIM card out of samsung galaxy s6 active and put it in lg x charge I have to call metro pcs or it will not work. I hate that with a passion I don't care if I own 10 phones I should be able to swap the SIM card between all the phones.
I agree it is a strange practice for a GSM / LTE practice. Annoying. Even with the CDMA / LTE carriers you can move the SIM even though you should have the MEID registered. Which Metro plan do you use?
@@Smartphonematters . I had both $60 and $50 plans. Yes I think it's very annoying and frustrating that you have to call Metro to switch SIM between phones. But I heard about simple mobile being cheaper for the same thing that's when I switched over to come over. Same service for $45.00 so why not save $5.00. Both phones are unlocked.
You have to have a working account before you can get the $20/3 months discount , so 1st month would be @ $25 with a card from store. You paid $27.44 !!!
The company charged my bank account extra and I did not authorize it. Their phones are locked, too. It looks a lot like I was just buying a cell phone with a separate card to add minutes and data abilities. They said there are rules in their terms. I bought it at a retail store. Fraud
All their phones are locked. Some are heavily discounted. Buyers need to decide if the discount is worth buying a locked phone and worth committing to simple mobile for 12 months in order to unlock it. If you bought the phone in a retail store I don't understand how SM would have access to your bank account.. simple mobile offers 30 day service plans and either fixed or unlimited monthly data. I am not aware of any reason you couldn't simply buy this monthly refills in a store.
I'm so dumb I only bought the sim card and I thought I just had to activate it and I'm done but it didn't work so I called Simple Mobile 3 times and then watched this...
In the video I used a service plan card. You can buy a sim and pay for a plan online with your credit card too. If you buy a phone from simple you should also bundle a plan with it to make advantage of their money savings promo codes.
I'm use the $40 dollar plan for unlimited talk text and data I get 15 gigs then 2g that good for me usly I'm on WiFi at work and home only use my data wen I'm out in about time to time usley from work to home I'm on my data
But if I do I usly just wait till my bill over to refresh the plan or usly just buy $5 just to get throw the month if needed but I use a little data for emails and I sind a lot and vary little music and web
I want to know if I can add more pay as you go like I've got the $25 n I want add 2 cards so that I hv time on my phone for 2 months cuz I've got the $ to do that at this point
I’m so frustrated, I bought the sim kit at the store but bought the plan and activated online. PLEASE HELP ME FIND MY SERVICE PLAN PIN??? I don’t see it anywhere!!!!
I’ve been charged out of my account and I setup auto re up I just don’t understand where the service plan pin is because I bought online and already activated my sim!
The sim kit from the store is one dollar. It does not include a service pin. When you activate online they apply your service credit directly your account and do not send you a pin.
The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 was CDMA, so that might have had something to do with why it was at best only partially functional on a GSM carrier such as Simple Mobile.
Yes. Simple mobile uses the T-Mobile network and any t-mobile phone will work. If you meet the terms and conditions required, T-mobile will unlock your phone for free see smartphonematters.com/unlocking-your-att-t-mobile-verizon-or-sprint-iphone-android-or-windows-phone/
The phone on the table is an iPhone X. For my review I used my iPhone 6s, iPhone SE and Google Nexus 5X. I wanted to use my Samsung Galaxy S7 but the phone wasn't compatible with the tmobile network as it was a Verizon model.
@@danielgartin6993 My S7 is unlocked. As it is from Verizon, the phone wasn't compatible with the T-Mobile network. That is a limitation of the phone. And there is no "law" saying Verizon phones need be unlocked, they are supposed to unlock with them to comply with the FCC requirements to license the 700Mhz C Block.
question I have is I got the oneplus 7 Pro for tmobile and Im thinking about switching but if I wanted the truly unlimited plan for $50, am I gunna get my plan to 50 or would it be more.
I' It's currently $45 on auto re-up. You'll ay state sales tax plus a couple bucks in Federal fees. Depending where you live slightly over of under $50. You won't get the $5 re up discount the first month.
Did I leave that out of the video? Simple mobile CS told me you keep it as long as you keep the number active.... I had a screenshot of that to add to the video maybe I forgot it...
12:53 where did you get that sim key from, did it come with the simple mobile packet? I got my teen a tcl lx simple mobile phone for Xmas, and the signal is way better than my AT&T I’ve had since 2009. I’m looking to switch my iPhone from AT&T and add my teens line to my simple mobile plan, I’ll set up, before the 25th. Any tips?
It's a SIM tool from an older Samsung Galaxy phone I had. You can buy a similar tool on eBay or Amazon. A bent paper clip does the job. Simple Mobile is good, check out my videos on Mint too. I use it. You might like it.
@@Smartphonematters thanks. I’m looking into mint mobile but every time I put in my zip code (Boston) I keep getting the message : “Please enter valid values for the highlighted zip codes”
You may find it works with the ATT towers on a tracfone owned service like Net10 or straight talk. But it isn’t going to work with ATT. If you meet the eligibility requirements simple mobile will unlock the phone for free.see www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/ You should be able to tell if a sim will work by putting it in the phone even if the sim isn’t active.
If you phone is unlocked, it should work. Borrow an AT&T or T-Mobile SIM from a friend and try it in the phone. If it works the phone is unlocked. If the phone is locked, check the details on Boost's website to dee if it qualifies for unlocking.
I'm not sure I understand. If you are looking to add a $5, $10, or $20 data add on to your phone plan you buy it from your online account at simplemobile.com or use their app on your phone. Id that what you are asking
Can you unlock an AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and use it with Simple Mobile?because my grandma needs a new service provider because her new smartphone won’t work with her current provider
To use an AT&T Notes 3 with Simple Mobile the phone needs to be unlocked and compatible with the t-mobile network. You can use frequencycheck.com to see how compatible the phone is. If your ATT phone is locked, ATT will unlock it for free once you have met the terms and conditions of their unlocking policy.
smartphonematters actually it’s a previously owned phone that wasn’t reported lost or stolen and the contract was completed and all payments were made on time I read the unlock policy on the website
smartphonematters it’s compatible I used the website you told me about, now all I need to do is have my sister test her SIM card in that phone and if it’s recognized and connects to the T-Mobile network then it’s unlocked already if not then contact AT&T for the unlocking code it should prompt for the unlocking code if the phone is still locked to AT&T
according to this page, the phone should work with T-Mobile. Assuming its the right phone. www.frequencycheck.com/carrier-compatibility/7RD0cB/lg-sp200-tribute-dynasty-td-lte/t-mobile-united-states You would also need to make sure boost unlocks the phone for you. See their policy here www5.boostmobile.com/#!/about/legal/ctia-regulatory/
Thinking about making the switch...currently with metro pcs...seem similar but simple includes 10 gigs of hotspot and international calling/roaming with their $60 plan...metro does not...each is sold separate at $ 10 each on metro...
it would work with a locked T-Mobile phone but I don't know about a metro phone. You might try buying a $1 Simple mobile SIM kit and pop an inactive SIM in the phone. You may be able to tell if phone is locked. Metro should lock the phone for free if you meet their conditions.
Im curious to try them out. I want to leave sprint and not happy with the service. How is the service with simple mobile. I know tmobile works pretty welll in my area?
be sure to watch my other videos. I thought the service was pretty good. I normally use the att network, the tmobile network is pretty good in my area now compared to the past. I have recently been trying sprint and the coverage isn't as good. Which plan are you interested in?
smartphonematters thanks for the info im interested in the unlimited plans. I talked to a rep today and they said if i port over 2 lines for the 60 dollar plan it would only be 85 dollars a month. Is this true?
$85 for two unlimited lines with the 10GB of Hotspot. $75 if you don't need hotspot. You'll pay taxes and fees. Sales and telecommunication taxes depend on your state and local rates. The government fees for 911 and universal service will be a couple bucks too.
i know this is old & u probably already know but you cannot use it in canada i went there & it dosen't work only way it works if u have an iphone & family or friends have iphone & u can use facetime calls or video or immesage thru wifi right now i have t mobile cause it works in canada/mexico unlimited calls and text
There are no Simple Mobile stores, at least that I am aware of. Some major retailers carry Simple Mobile phones. As to whether or not a Walmart or BestBuy will stock those phones I do not know. At some point, I assume Simple Mobile will carry the latest iPhones on simplemobile.com as they sold the iPhone X last year. I expect we will see the Xs and Xr on simplemobile.com at some point soon. If you are interested in an older model iPhone you can save 40% up to $100 see smartphonematters.com/simplemobile-latest-deals
