My Toyota Camry got jumped a few days ago and it drove for a little bit but then the engine failed and the whole car stopped working. I think my alternator might be the problem.
i replaced a new battery that was not even 6 months old i drove not even 5 miles and parked for a couple days i went to start and had nothing someone checked the alternator and battery with a amp tester on the battery it was keeping amps so i replaced the battery again i parked it for about 8 hours went to start it and had nothing so not understanding if both are good why the battery keeps no charge if any of this makes sence to you. thanks for any kind of help. its a 2010 ford fusion
Sounds like a parasitic draw. Easy to check. Get a Multimeter from anywhere (Harbor Freight sells them for under $10) and watch a couple of YT videos on how to do the test. I just recently did this on an old van by pulling fuses and reading for changes in draw (the culprit: cigarette lighter and analog dash clock.) Maybe a light or the alarm has a bare-wire ground somewhere?
