This is such important information! I can't thank you enough for all that you do. Because of you and your NOCD recommendation, our children are thriving! My daughter was diagnosed with OCD a couple of years ago, and when our son started showing signs of OCD, his themes were completely different than hers. Our awesome NOCD therapist suggested getting our son evaluated after I casually mentioned his eating/food anxieties that he had developed. Apparently he was dealing with OCD related ARFID. I would have never connected it to OCD, and I'm so thankful that we were able to get him therapy. The work you do is so important and so appreciated! Thank you!❤

This sounds so much like me I need constant reassurance my food doesn’t contain certain things and I on,y eat a few foods because of that all of theese symptoms align with what I’ve been experiencing my whole life

Very informative.❤ If you could add some pictures or animations illustrating the topic, it would grab people's attention even more

It might be prudent to add the possibility of PANS/PANDAS and investigate that as a possible cause. OCD and restrictive eating are major symptoms.

I'm 21,I'd rather starve for days than eat foods I don't like My family sometimes cook those foods intentionally to see if I'll give up and eat it but i don't And it grows, i was eating pasta three months ago and now it irritates me because i think it'll turn into worms inside of me I always motivate myself to eat even the ones i like and drinking water with every spoon

Could you possibly speak more on adults diagnosed later in life with OCD? My partner never had support systems for her OCD and I'm trying to learn more about how to help and understand her symptoms

My mom chose instead of working with me on my food restrictions or getting me proper help to merely stop making me lucnhes in grade 3 cause i was “too picky”, and so from grade 3 to end of highschool i didnt bring lunch to school. I also get extremely nauseous in the morning so i also rarely ate breakfast.Throughout school my food schedule was 3pm snack 6pm whatever dinner my mom made if i could stomach it (if not i just didn’t eat or had another snack cause shes not the type to make a separate meal for a single person unless its her husband) Now as an adult I’m still dealing with the consequences of my old eating schedule habit, which could have been curbed better if she had helped in the slightest

When you say get help where do you start? We have talked to our family doctor and met with a speech pathologist who works with kids who struggle to eat. She is suggesting an ENT. We wonder if we need a psychologist. We just don’t know who to talk to and feel so lost.
