I just want to say that this video has helped save me. I have eczema and rosacea and I was always scared to put to much on but now that I have learned this I have applied slowly increasing and found that if I apply 5 layers at bed time about 2 mins waiting in between each layer and then placing Vaseline on and it is the only thing that has helped reduce my eczema ever in my life.
girl you are easily the best skincare youtuber. i have always battled with skin issues and your product recommendations never fail to blow me away. love ur stuff❤️
Yes! I just started using this 2 months ago for my whole family instead of the adult version and I enjoy it more as well. I wonder why? Aren't the ingredients the same?
all i know is that since i've been using sunscreen and moisturizing according to Dr Dray's advice my face just feels better. i'd rather over than under moisturize.
When you moisturise throughout the day, do you just apply cream without washing your face or do you wash it first? (I mean after your am routine and before your pm routine)
I have learned so much watching these videos. I'm 78 and had cataract surgery a yr ago, enabling me to see better how horrible my skin looked. I'm doing everything recommended, and I've had Morpheus8 for puffiness and darkness under eyes. I realize I need at least 3 Morpheus8 treatments spaced about 8 weeks apart. I asked the plastic surgeon if there were something faster so I can see results before I'm dead. I'm ashamed to say that in the past I actually sometimes went 2 days without washing my face. What an embarrassing confession. And I didn't use sunscreen except for going to the beach. I think I stopped doing stuff to look good after my husband died about 20 yrs ago.
As someone who has been depressed, let me tell you I've gone days without washing my face and even showering. It's not embarrassing at all. We've all had different circumstances ❤️
I love this video and it really helped me stop worrying. Related, sort of, I would love a video with advice on dealing with long term side effects of taking Isotretinoin. I took it for about a year a few years ago and I still struggle with dry eye, dry mouth, and more delicate skin and I'm just out of my 20s!
I am so sorry to hear that .Having dry eyes issues myself but it comes and goes for me ( i manage it internally using some ayurvedic herbs that balance the five elements specifically air element but mine is nothing related and is just to entire body being dry due to vata dosha) I can so understand the pain of dry eyes . I hope you find a solution and the dry eyes issue gets resolved . IT seems there are dry eye doctors who specialise in this and uses various method to help in such condiitons some of which a warm compresses etc . Please do let us know how things turn out for you .Accutance seems to mess up the gut health and taking probiotics helps .Please consult a doctor and get all the help you need
I really, like the lipikar lotion. I even use it on my face. And I'm actually one of these people who overdid it. I did this skin flooding trend out of curiosity and it totally gave my hyperhydration issues. Discontinued the habit and within one week my skin was fine. Very interesting experiment though. I'm just glad I didn't have some photo appointment 🙈🤣
Is it true that Iscotrizinol lasts for 25 hrs? Then is there no need to reapply? It’s the spf filter in the new Beauty of Joseon probiotics spf. Have a great Friday! ☺️
Regardless of the durability of certain sunscreen filters, you still need to reapply. Natural oils from your skin, sweating, inadvertently touching the face, friction or rubbing, etc. can all disrupt the current sunscreen film giving you protection. It's advised to always reapply, no matter what claims are made.
Ok so I have very dry skin. I'm 29 and wanted to start getting into using retinol. For whatever reason that la roche posey lotion stuff is literally the ONLY stuff I've found that doesn't burn after applying retinol. If anything it helps soothe and help redness. I have no idea what's in it but It's a froggin God send.
I've watched so many of these..hours and hours and love and appreciate them all. However, I am completely overwhelmed. I have some products, need others, dont know what exactly I need, when to apply and what order. I'm 57, oily skin, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation.
@Dr Dray. I really need to know the order of things to put on my face. I have Hyluronic Acid, retinol, vitamin C serum, squalene, msm liquid. Plus moisturizer and sunblock. I get confused about Hyluronic Acid. Does Collagen work on your face? I have pretty good sensitive skin. Few broken capillaries on cheeks.
My 2 sons never had diaper rash. I changed the diapers frequently, and I didn't use wipes. I always rinsed their butts under running water and soap for poop then applied A & D ointment. I also use it along with aloe cream on my butt if it gets sore.
I've been using A and D ointment on my lips and it works better for me than Vaseline or anything else. Is it OK to use it as an occlusive on the rest of my face?
Happy friday Dr. Dray, thankyou for your wonderful videos. I would really like to know if the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Cream would still be effective over the Hydroboost Gel Cream (for extra dry skin)? Thankyou.
I’m curious what you would say that for me during the summer months , going to the pool and being exposed to chlorine actually makes my acne dry out and clear up! Chlorine for me and the pool act opposite and make my skin better. But then again I’m not in the pool non stop. I do get out and dry in the sun and then get back in the pool again
Happy Friday Dr Dray! Thanks for all that you do ❤️ could you review the peach slices snail rescue line please?! Like the blemish busting toner, the wash off mask and the oil free moisturizer? Hope you have a good weekend ❤️
how do you moisturize when you have sebderm, we are meant to use shampoos for the face but that could be drying. i never see anyone talking about the full routine of having sebderm in the face
I wash my face and once it's dry it's very dry I can feel the dry patches on my skin, should I try to remove this dry dead skin before using a moisturizer?
I really like her but unfortunately this video didn't help me or teach me because i have oily acne and whatever i do i always get acne there.. And i've tried everything. I even got rid of any product that has irritants such as fragrance and installed good ingredients such as niacinamide and ceramides but nothing.
@@mar__k what's your eating habits like? Are you drinking plenty of water/ sleeping well? Some of these things contribute to your skin's health aside from hormones. Also maybe a gentle face cleanser. What type of acne skincare products have you used? My acne as a teen was bad, not the worst, but it was because i used to pick at my skin. I also wasn't using the right cleansers/ moisturizer as I wasn't that informed. Now I just have dark spots and a minor breakout here and there
@@mar__k try 3 step moisture by olena, it' basically, 1. water (clean, use water that u can drink) 2. humectant (hydrating toner/serum, hyaluronic acid, glycerin) 3. abit moisturizer (pea size amount). You have to do the next step immediately after the the previous. When the moisturizer set, it will have skin like finish, it's not like you have a film on your skin. You can watch the explanation on her youtube channel, "olena beley" When i try this step my thick moisturizer doesn't clog my pores, because i basically apply the moisturizer on wet skin and my acne start to heal
@@mar__k hey, do not just use niacinamide and ceramides to treat your acne. There are many actives that are meant to treat acne. They are retinoids, salicylic acid, AHA, Sulfur, Benzoyl peroxide, and azelaic acid. Niacinamide is just a garnish of your treatments. It can not be solely employed to treat acne. It is not anti bacterial, exfoliant, or increasing skin cell turnover.
@@NicePerson58 I've started bha and adapalene 2 months ago and the acne is controllable now i'm almost back to where i started. The thing is that i can't find a decent sunscreen in my country as all of them have fragrance even the ones that don't have in other countries.
I study soil mechanics and there's also a "water content" for all types of soils (sand, clay, etc.). When soils have too much water, they behave similar to liquids, which is dangerous because they can collapse in an instant. When soils are dry, they appear crumbled and there is weak bond between particles. Similarly, there's no definite answer as to "how much water is needed" but we have what we call the "optimum moisture content". At this optimum value of water content, the soil has increased strength and does not compress easily, and water cant escape quickly from the soil. I hope we all can find our skin's optimum moisture content! ❤ Love this video, Dr. Dray!
@@jamiehorwitz1227 Hello there. In soil mechanics, moisture content and water content are used interchangeably since they basically mean the same thing. But yeah, for skins in particular, they are different. From Dr. Dray's videos, I have been aware that a moisturizer locks in water that's why she suggested slathering it on wet/damp skin right after showering so as to prevent transepidermal water loss. Have a nice day!
I finally got in with a derm after a year and all she said was “there’s nothing you can do” and prescribed me a tretinoin cream saying it MIGHT help. I asked for product recommendations and all she said was cerave, no other suggestions. So frustrating. So thankful for Dr Dray
I'm no dermatologist or a qualified skin specialist. I can however, provide you a review from a consumer standpoint, Cerave works well for my oily, blemish prone and sensitive skin. And also, most, if not all their products are fragrance free which is something to consider if you have sensitive skin, and it's more reasonably priced as well 😊 I love their: ➡️Eye Repair Cream (one of the only eye creams that don't give me bumps around my undereyes) ➡️AM (with SPF30) & PM Facial Moisturising Lotion (don't recommend for drier skin, it's very lightweight, may not be moisturising enough) ➡️ Skin Renewing Night Cream (has a thick, ointment like consistency but not greasy, helps significantly with my redness and dry patch on inner cheeks) ➡️ Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum (it's like a lightweight gel cream, helps with hydration) I hope this helps in any way!
Emily, You did not say what the diagnosis was - what was the state of your skin when you went to the dermatologist? A dermatologist usually isn't going to recommend products that they know won't be effective. Cerevae is excellent. She could have recommended them to you only making an educated guess that it's what you really wanted to hear to make yourself feel better so you could spend money for no other reason than hope. Try going to an esthetician instead.
Derms don't really know much about specific cosmetic products at most they'll recommend whatever they've been given free samples of or general "medical" skin care like Cerave. You might be better off asking a pharmacist or an esthetician for product recommendations.
@@violetviolet888 She definitely does. But I wouldn't expect that kind of knowledge from every derm out there. They know the important ingredients but they don't always keep up with new technology or the nuances of different products. And they're not gonna try out a bunch of different products in their free time just to offer better recommendations to their patients.
Dr Dray, I started watching you ten years ago. I was 40, skin was dull and lifeless. I’ve followed your advice and I just turned 50 and my skin looks amazing! Also, La Roche Posey Cleanser is my new favorite! My skincare routine uses trentinoin and ceramides/peptides and sunscreen! Thank you so much! You have worked so hard for success and have stayed true to yourself and have educated us on the industry and that we can have a simple skincare routine that is effective and affordable! Thank you so much.
@@mufferducker822 I asked my pcp and she gave it to me. It can be hard to schedule with a dermatologist. Primary care physicians are great for simple derm issues
@@DrDrayzday You've never mentioned Bepanthen (the pink stripe one)? Maybe it's not sold there? Dexpanthenol it also says on the tube. It's very thick and absolutely the best for dry and slightly damaged skin, cuticles etc (the blue stripe one isn't as good). I wonder why peole praise La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5. I bought it and I don't like it very much. The consistency is odd and it smells funny. I don't think it's off, not like that. Just mildly unpleasant. It also doesn't do wonders for my skin. Only okay. The Bepanthen cream does leave the skin sticky for a little bit but that goes away. That would be the only negative side.
This wonderful lady who my hubby also loves, bc I had a bad habit of buying too much skin care products. Now I just use what I need and my skin has never looked better love Dr. Dray💕
Your advice helped me fix my skin barrier/maskne, went to the derm, got prescribed retin a, & all I use is la roche posay cleanser, moisturizer, & sunscreen❤️ no more maskne!! Thank you so much😭
Hi Dr., my boyfriend has palmoplantar keratoderma. I can’t find a lot of info about it on the web, it would be really nice to see you talk about this mutation :) He struggles a lot with his feet, the skin is always breaking doesn’t matter what he does to take care of it.
With my dry, Winter skin, I don't think I have to worry about over moisturizing! Lol!! Thanks for the interesting info. Happy Friday, Dr Dray!! I hope you, your sweet momma and little Tybee have a fantastic weekend! 💜
@@jenathent4840 No she hasn't. I hope she's doing well also and I really miss the weekend vlogs with her. I also am trying to respect her privacy by just wishing them a good weekend without asking any questions. Enjoy your weekend! 😊
You have helped me SO,SO much in my skincare. Since I've started watching your videos, I've changed my routine, and almost never get breakouts like i used to. Thank you so much Dr. Dray, you are a skin saver ❤
When you mentioned overhydration as a possibility! I was thinking back to when I was a little kid and never wanted to get out of the bathtub. I would come out with prune-y fingers and toes, which I thought was neat!
This makes me think of this I shouldnt be alive type show I watched. These men were stuck in the ocean for days and their skin fell off in chunks because they were submerged for so long.
@@dezb8510If it's total immersion then generally you don't see huge bits falling off until a week usually. But, sores can start to appear and if they water is not sterile an infection can set in causing necrosis. That might have been what happened. Either way, submersion long enough will just cause your skin to slough off, nasty stuff.
You've been such a help in my skincare journey!! You've helped me combat my KP, taught me that the products I used to think we're boring are actually what my sensitive skin needed, and have made me feel so much more confident
If you are prone to heat/sweat rash under your breasts, armpits/crevice areas (it's a problem for me in the Summer) I highly recommend using a body powder that contains salicylic acid like Gold Baum and/or a lotion that has an AHA in it. Avoid "wet" deodarants or dry them with a hair dryer after application. Keep your skin moisturized but "dry" as much as possible.
This is very interesting and Dr. Dray, I would love it if you made more videos about lasers and which type of lasers are safe for Asian and African skin.
@@TyraStanks right, some people try to make everything political. She could have just asked her own question if it was that serious to find out if its safe for Caucasians. As if most health/ beauty devices and products aren't mainly made with "their" safety in mind from the start. The nerve.
Dr Dray I want to ask your opinion about astazanthin. Is it better than other anti aging products? Should we take it topically or ingest it? Thanks so much!!
Dr Dray is actually a doctor who’s interested in products and trends and understanding the population and her patients and not just sitting there listing to people for a few min and charge 100s of $. I hope more doctors would actually be interested in what they do and what products are out there , but not just derms but all doctors.
This helps me so much! My skin LOVES moisture but I think I’ve recently overdone it and I got a ton of small tiny dots on my face…I’m giving my face a three day break before applying anything to it to let it rest and heal ❤
Forever loving Dr. Dray's intolerance for idiots of the world! Please keep being amazing and sassy because it makes me laugh every time (oh and of course thank you for always giving us great info!!)
Your channel is like crack. My combined obsession with having to KNOW the scientific explanation to EVERYTHING and my serious skincare addiction makes me just love to watch you!!!
This is literally something I'm dealing with right now. My face during these months (and using Retin-A) is so dry and my face needs a lot of moisturizer. But my neck oddly isn't dry at all and I thought it was good to hydrate it anyways. What I have now is a rash on on my lowest neck line that has gotten pretty bad. I'm using Canesten on it right now, so hopefully it'll work. Edit: Come to find it was actually eczema.
I would use a little bit of witch hazel. Obviously don’t use frequently and try to dilute with water or glycerin but it can maybe balance out the hydration
The cream I was using (Canesten) wasn't working so I went to my Dr. I was told it was eczema. I never put the Retin-A on my neck, so I knew it wasn't that. I was prescribed a hydrocortisone cream but it too, didn't do anything oddly enough. Ive resorted to purchasing Cetaphil Pro Eczema lotion. It actually is working quite well. Even aquaphor was irritating it. But with this Cetaphil, so far so good. I apply it about 4x a day. I like it so much that I use it on my whole face and neck. But I make sure always even to apply it to my neck first before my face so that I don't drag any residual Retin-A on my neck.
It is a year from this video now. I thought I had watched every one of your videos, but somehow missed this one, and this has been one of my big questions. I've tried moisturizing AM and PM, but I am OLD, and by about 1pm, I am dry. I live in a dry climate in SoCal. HA doesn't seem to help me much even with a nice occlusive moisturizer on top. SPF seems to dry me out even more, even those that everyone else thinks are moisturizing. So, I am going to try moisturizer at mid day for a while, and see how that goes. Somehow, I don't dry out overnight as much as I do during the day. I've been watching your channel since 2019, and the single thing that has made the biggest difference for me is applying moisturizer on wet skin. Thank you. Oh, I am a lap swimmer in summer, and didn't get so dry. Thank you again for helping me feel happy with my ancient skin.
I have noticed that I can definitely overdo it with hydrating products (e.g. hydrating toners and serums). Layering too many of these is almost as bad for me as using too many actives.
@@hanamacquoid1427 there are tons of hydrating toners (not “astringents”), especially if you look at Korean beauty. Hydration is one of the main purposes of a toner.
The best luck I've had with layering is: 2 drops The Ordinary niacinimide, 2 drops hyaluronic acid, a few dabs of neutrogena hydrating gel/moisturizer, and 2 drops of rose hip seed oil & 2 drops of squalene oil mixed together!
@@jenessastrickland1555 if you’re looking at toners for hydration beyond a moisturizer and a serum then you’re wasting your money IMO. Dr Dray doesn’t even use or recommend them. 🤷♀️
@@hanamacquoid1427 I like to use CosRx’s Pure Fit Cica Toner. I find it has helped with my dry skin (more than my moisturizer alone) as long as I don’t use too much (hence my original comment) and I follow it with a relatively occlusive moisturizer. But to each their own, of course.
Since beginning to watch your videos, I’ve become a devoted CeraVe cream user (something lighter in the hot months because CeraVe stays sticky), been smarter about the use of serums and more selective in facial skin care. Thanks!
@@patriciamays8873 yes, thanks. It has been hard to find since COVID started. Much to my surprise, Curel turned out to be a decent summer lotion. It comes unscented, though the normal scent is inoffensive. Also has ceramides. I had no idea until going on the hunt for a readily available lotion that Curel is a Japanese company and historically, I’ve had good luck with those formulas. Anyway, it worked nicely during the hot months, but isn’t suited for colder, drier months.
I started watching you when I was on Accutane. I'm not on it anymore, but you helped me through it every step of the way with your videos and even fixed my skin barrier with simple steps like face wash, and moisturizer and SUNSCREEN. SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN!
I noticed you've applied moisturizer right over your eye lids. I find if I get any sort of product NEAR my eyes they will run all day long and get irritaed in the outer corners. Have you found any effective products for extremely sensitive skin/eye area?
vaseline !!!! I have a very sensitive skin and especially very sensitive eyes, i apply vaseline over my eyelids and it's perfect. I learn that from Dr Dray.
Dr Dray has a very calm, conversational, and knowledgeable cadence to her speech that reminds me of my favorite professors from college. I find myself nodding along and following her thought process through every video
I have over moisturised my chin, I now have perioral dermatitis, a little bit pimply, a little irritated and some bits dry :( I've been prescribed doxycycline but had to do my own research as the dermatologist didn't tell me anything. I subsequently found out I shouldn't take my medication with dairy products, within 2 hours of the antibiotic. Annoying that you get so little information from some specialists. Thank goddess for you, Dr Dray!
I have been using doxy off and on for 20 years for PD. I've never experienced issue with dairy but I have had SEVERE reactions to sun so be careful with that! Good luck!
I did not know the term for "trench foot" until this video, but my boyfriend developed trench foot after 2-3 days of walking around British Columbia in the rain without adequate waterproof shoes. His feet became very swollen and painful. I on the other hand had my good GORE-TEX hiking boots and did not have this issue.
When I see any Skincare RU-vidrs apply moisturizer, I get shocked. They apply such tiny amounts. This made me question and wonder if I'm overdoing it but I guess I'll never know...
When I get heavy handed with Cerave or anything with ceramides I get large sebaceous filaments. Happy Friday, Dr. Dray. And if you’re reading/watching too hope you’re doing well Mama Dray!
Living in Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦-I don’t mess around with how dry it gets in the winter. I moisturize twice a day otherwise I’m itching and flaking into the next world.
Hmmm. A few years ago I was applying CeraVe Healing Ointment under my nose pretty religiously while suffering from a cold. After maybe a week, I got a terrible case of perioral dermatitis in that area. I thought this was from too much occlusives trapping moisture in the skin. Is it true that you can cause issues by over-application of highly occlusive products? Not hyper-hydration but…I don’t know…not letting the skin breathe? Also, I agree - that blue color looks really great on you! Thanks, Dr. Dray, for all the work you put into your videos. Yours is truly the best kind of “modern day information sharing.”
I've heard people having success fighting 'maskne' by brushing teeth/using mouthwash once or twice throughout the day. I'm going to try this along with using cereve healing ointment around my jaw and chin. Thanks!
I do find the lipikar balm does not sink into my skin at all! I love the way it feels though and just finished the bottle I bought. Will probably be trying something new though.
Question - when you shower, is it ok if the moisturiser doesn’t wash off completely? I find the body wash and moisturiser ingredients can be immiscible, like oil and water.
@@cleleoleo I double cleanse my face but, for my body, just a body wash. I should've been clearer - I was referring to washing moisturiser off the body.
@@laineyl8752 Yes, it's fine. You don't need to wash the moisturizer off. Really the only parts of your body that need actual SOAP/CLEANSER would be armpits and groin. Just use a washcloth/scrubbie/etc for the rest of your skin (except face). Look up Dr Dray's mightime routine. And Dr. Jame's Hamblin's interviews on his book called "Clean"
Dr Dray! I recently went to a new dermatologist and he suggested that in order to keep clear skin I need to use NO moisturizers. He said he is in the “no moisturizer camp” for the majority of people. Could you speak to this? Not needing it and shouldn’t be using it?
Everyone needs to keep skin moisturised. When I had acne I went to a top dermatologist and he prescribed Cetaphil lotion (the original one that is semi-clear) as both a cleanser and moisturiser and stressed the importance of keeping skin moisturised this way. When acned skin dries out it gets worse because of the irritation and inflammation and thickening of the skin plus more oil production to compensate.
I have tried many moisturizers but the ones from BIODERMA definitely are THE BEST I've ever tried. It's incredible HOW MUCH your skin changes I guess thanks to niacinamide on their formula. After a few weeks the skin looks flawless. The lack of perfume has a lot to do IMO. The ones from La Roche Posay are kind of sticky & the fragrance is kind of disgusting.(the Lipikar Balm AP+ is the exception to me..) Both from BIODERMA, the milky one is more rich and the gel cream is fantastic for his refreshing effect and goes perfect for perfect absorption and summertime. Absolutely recommended.
@@madlenj.4644 Yes! Is for body & face! And definitely BETTER than La Roche Posay. Even for baby's sensitive skin.Their formulas are so gentle that you can use even on your eyes area unlike La Roche Posay which I find a little bit irritating for face perhaps for the fragance. Bioderma has not fragance. I use the Atoderm creme for those days my skin needs more hydration and during winter and I use the Atoderm Gel creme that is fantastic for summer and the effect is similar as putting hyaluronic/based gel. I think the secret is the niacinamide between their ingredients.
Over all I did learn a lot about this. I have a younger brother (7) who due to covid has turned into a huge germaphobe. Whenever he can was his hands he will, whenever he can moisturize with lotion he will. He has eczema, so knowing the lotion helps to some degree is nice. He applies it maybe even as often as 7 times a day if he can get away with it. I worry that it will dry out his skin, and I actually watched this video to try and see if it would, only to find that you just gave examples of extreme being “oh, if they apply every 2 seconds that is what extreme is”. To someone with autism like me, that description of extreme does nothing but confuse me and make me wonder what the hell extreme really is, or “too much”. He recently has been dealing with dry skin, my guess is that is due to his new fear of germs and his constant hand washing and lotion using. You talked a lot about over moisturizing, but I heard relatively little about the effects that lotion could have on drying ones skin, if anything at all. I couldn’t say where or when I heard about it, but if there is a *reasonable* “too much” what is it? Every twelve seconds is obviously an over exaggeration, and won’t help me. Is there anybody who can give me the knowledge so I can help my brother avoid messing up his skin? If that is even a danger
I can relate! It’s definitely the washing that is drying out his hands. It would be helpful for your brother to fight the urge to wash even if he reduces frequency only once or twice. Have him apply vanicream and then Vaseline and then gloves so he doesn’t need to wash so often. Good for him for trying to be safe though! And you are a wonderful sibling ❤
Can someone help me? i Have oily forehead and whatever moisturizer i've put on it i get forehead pimples. And i obviously avoid irritating ingredients such as fragrance.
Personally, ive found that The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Cream by Tonymoly has helped me a lottt. I use a retinoid daily/ every other day so i needed something that packed a punch without breaking me out. I also didnt want to be greasy. My skin so so sensitive and this moisturizer was the first one ive tried that didnt give me cystic acne alongside burning& redness. What works for me might not work for you, but I definitely recommend checking out the brand Tonymoly as their products seem to have good ingredients
I've been using the neutrogena hydro boost body gel cream as a face moisturizer, and that stuff is amazing!!! I have dry, sensitive skin. I rarely get pimples but found that when I put any kind of moisturizer or foundation on my face, I would be finding a new pimple everyday. It was getting frustrating because without moisturizer my face would be so dry and scaley and itchy. This stuff is amazing! My face hasn't ever been this soft and smooth, and I don't get pimples! Not to mention, the itchiness on my face has gone down significantly. A big part of this moisturizer is petrolatum, and I think that is what has helped so much.
Maskne is a definite issue for me, largely around my nostrils. Thankfully I work from home so don’t need to mask unless I’m out and about. Will try a more occlusive cream.
Didn't need to know about oily skin and swimming, most people aren't regular swimmers. Instead of "moisturizers and oily skin" maybe you should have named that section for how it relates to swimmers, misleading and time wasting : P Anybody feel free to bash me for hating
I have to wear a mask at work all the time and I find that it dries my skin out instead. Have you heard of this happening to other people? I will say I am always cold and rarely sweat while at work. It's so cold in the office that I am in sweaters and scarves year round...even during the hot and humid summer weather!
I am a teacher, so I am wearing + talking in a mask all day (as well as having rosacea), and I absolutely find this! I have it drying out (eventually) even when it’s hot in the warmer months & my face is sweaty. Not at first, but after the sweat evaporates. At night, I find I have to moisturize way more when I’ve had a mask on that day. Maybe it’s the barrier disruption of wearing it that causes it?
Yes! I wear washable cotton masks and they seem to pull the moisture right out of my skin. My sunscreen is very emollient, so it helps with this, though.
My holy grail moisturizer is the cetaphil moisturizing cream. I LOVE it! I tried the la roche posay lipikar balm but it kept pilling up on me. For some reason my skin loves cetaphil so I just stick with them mainly.
I got some at Costco but I thought it said formulated for body, so I didn’t use it on my face. Do they have different creams or is this safe to use on my face?
@@reilley4268 I find it amazing for my face too! But I have insanely dry skin especially living in Michigan so if you have oily or acne prone then I wouldn’t suggest it but if you have dry skin I would definitely give it a try on the face!
