2:18 is where he turns around and sees her... When I'm really in the music, I sometimes see myself standing there on that building, underneath the vanilla sky.
It isnt technically the vanilla sky version. It is a live version recorded i think somewhere in denmark iirc but i forget the name of rhe place that is actually qhat im trying to remember hahah. P.s. i found it it is Roskilde live version
That's right! This is the original version from the movie! He played this song at this concert long b4 it was on any album and long b4 vanilla sky came out! At the end paramount desided to put this version into the movie and not the final version from the album! And that was the best desicion ever, if u ask me! I realy like the movie and love this song! Even after all this years i get goose bumps every time i hear this original version! And sorry for my bad english, but i hope u understand what i mean! ;-)
This is more than music, this is the voice of the conscience with the sound of the most beautiful feeling. And I think most of the people here get it. I feel connected with everyone with this song.
Oh my god, I can't believe this exists. I have been looking for this version since I first saw this movie 11 years ago. For years it was impossible to find and all versions of the song just didn't compare to this version. You can really tell this is from the movie. There's something in the wailing guitars that no other version captures. My mom said it sounds like people crying. Thank you uploader.
totally agree... The thing is this version which is used in the film has had the most editing done in order for it to work in the film i.e removing the crowd and pitch.. the director must of used the direct PA recordings to do this..so after all that work it still never made it on the soundtrack..it beggars belief.
The studio version hadn't yet been released! I remember well, having seen VS in my freshman year at college -- the () album didn't come out till my sophomore year.
beautiful version, very subdued, i like it. any idea why vanilla sky chose to use a live version rather than studio? maybe they realized how much better this version was?
9 years later I will answer you this (although you probably already know lol), but it is because the studio version wasn't even out yet. Sigur Rós played many of the Untitled songs live before the album was released. I think Cameron Crowe probably heard this bootleg and liked the song so much that he used it, even though there was no real studio version. However, I think this version is the best version of the song anyway.
