I never got any airband signal with this though I will say it's a fairly good radio for its price. The quality is not exceptional to a Chinese model. I recommentd it for occasional use only.
Look up the frequencies to your closest airport and save them you need to be fairly close or on a big hill maybe 10 miles away! or there is national frequencies that should get planes you see overhead.
Haha no, I don't make a habit of this I wiped dry and put it on the dashboard with heating on when I got to the car only thing was the antenna was a little rough used a little WD40 great radio this one of my favorites out of many 👍
Check global and local frequency on Google the closer to the airport the better just scanning around though I have had some nice military in commercial airspace though it doesn't have the military air and frequency which is a sme because this is a fantastic little receiver.
@@alberrs4313with this a small piece of speaker wire helps off the main antenna say one foot but will only clarify what is heard, I have not tried a specific antenna on this but this for air and was better than my icom i6 you have to be close to air traffic though and it doesn't scan anywhere near as fast as most scanners including the icon but sounds a lot better than most and has decent range.
@@gagejowouldn't make a lot of difference on this but at the range depending on mobile or not it's best to be at a high elevation aircraft transmit at low power for air comms and only speak to the tower when in range
