@@cvcoco Interesting. Though I've heard completely conflicting stories about the origins of the D808 and that it isn't anything to do with the Skywave. Who knows!? I'm in the UK and we don't have anything on the frequencies covered by the weather band. I wouldn't be interested in it anyway. RDS is invaluable to me on this radio as we've recently had amazing Tropo and E Skip conditions here in Europe. Well, mainly Tropo. But the RDS on the D808 really helped ID some of the stations coming in from overseas. The D808 has become a very popular portable with FM DXers.
I had a problem with XHDATA D808. The chassis around the bottom of the telescopic antenna wasn't strong enough to endure for every day use and it doesn't hold the antenna properly now. So I have to plug in wire antenna instead of the telescopic antenna. Then I asked the dealer if they sell the back panel only but they don't. A bummer.
Nice Informative video Sir...... Does Radiwow R 108 have overloading issue on SW & FM in comparison to Xhdata D 808 when connected to external Antenna..
Don't forget Radiwow's other name brand "Sihuadon" which comes in both models including the R-108, & D-808! These are both newer models than the Radiwow R-108, & XHDATA D-808. I also like the yellow amber display light that comes standard on the Sihuadon D-808! The Radiwow Company is a leading producer of quality DSP & RDS portable shortwave radios!
FWIW, Sihuadon now also have a D-808. From what I've been able to determine, its the same in every respect as the XHDATA, even coming from the same factory.
Thank you for this. I agree with you. In essence, the R108 is a stripped down and simplified version of the D808. The D808 is better because of D7435 chip and the larger aerial. It is also better on MW. Unfortunately the R108 also has software bugs. Ticking on MW when displaying the signal meter and poorer MW reception which is cured by switching the radio on/off.
I sold my D808. It is a very good radio, but mine had a problem with batteries: when fully charged it looses the energy in 48 hours, so you are the whole day charging it
I want a radio for air wave. I already have the sw7600gr for the other bands. I was looking at the d-808. Does it have synchronous demodulation mode? Ty.
Hi! thanx a lot for the info! I got XHData and love it a lot! My question is: the ferrite rods in both are probably not the same size XHdata's rod being slightly longer. Is there much difference in LW reception?
@@OfficialSWLchannel Salut! I get that. Probably I should've phrased it a bit better. but in this video you kinda said that it as overall better than 680. I dont think is. is it? be safe and 73s!
