I agree with you that this was one of the best styled of the Porche line. You did it justice in this restoration. We had some visitors from the UK this last weekend, so we showed them some of your videos. They became subscribers.

When you said you didn’t know what color to paint it, I thought “metallic blue would be so beautiful”, so I thank you double the beautiful display of your craft...

You can make spacers out of anything , metal tubing, heck even a coffee stirer

The color is beautiful. It has both a metallic and satin feel to it. As the line from the movie said, "Porsche. There is no substitute."

Siku do some lovely trucks,and our german friend will probably know,most are to 1/55th scale i believe,rather than 1/50th.not come across any cars,as yet.good resto by the way.It is a 911 Targa,and the wheels look very BBS,which a fair number of 911 owners fit.

hi rob ive recently been introduced to siku myself, they have some amazing casting new and old. "im all ears" lol that was a pun without you even knowing, best thing for axle spacers in my opinion is a cotton bud mate the plastic tube type. great content thanks for sharing.

The nice detailing and the freedom to do a paint job however you like is why I like these customs more than restorations! The original toy makers were thinking on how to cut corners on mass production to make a buck, I see no reason to lower your own standards when you're the one doing the job. Looks much nicer than factory standard! For spacers on the wheels, depends what kinda base you have, how good looking do you want it to end up being, and the amount of time you want to put into it. This is a common method watch?v=Tk0a29JXBbg (you just leave the tube longer and handing out more. But if you have enough material on the side where the axle pokes out of the base, you could glue a "half nut" (any stubby cylinder with thicker walls cut in half vertically will do, can easily make your own with whatever material as long as it glues to the base) since you can glue it wall to wall and extend the base that way. Whichever option you take, once you paint the base, it will look much more natural and hide anything, and it is under the car too, so adding just about anything, honestly, works.

The blue body and gold rim wheels look great. As far as spacers, four small diameter pieces of silver tubing between the tire hubs and the chassis would work to fill in the gaps and still look like an axle. Don't know if that was already suggested,but to many comments to read to find out...LOL.

Hello mate. I am really appreciating and enjoying your videos. In watching this one, you talk about needing spacers for the wheels. I use a very fine piano wire as my axles and then glue black glass jewelry beads as hubs. These same beads could be used as spacers between the chassis and the wheels. Also, to achieve different ride heights, I have used bits of hollow tubing to run the axles through. I hope these ideas help. Keep up the good work! Tschuss!

as spacers what i use on my cars is the rubber wrap from electrical wires i take the metal wires from inside and i put a little bit in each end of the axles

Lovely! Never heard of this brand before, but they shine up as well as the others. (Weird about the doors, though. I mean, you would think the Germans of all people...) It made me laugh when, about 20 seconds after I thought, "Oh, nice wheels," you said you didn't like the wheels. Shows you what I know. :) That "Made in West Germany" stamp has nostalgia value for old-timers like me. I've got a screwdriver they gave me at my first job (which was doing telephone tech support for a PC manufacturer, but they gave me a screwdriver, weirdly enough) that says the same, and is, unsurprisingly, by far the nicest screwdriver in my toolbox.

Thats one of my fav shades of blue blue is my main fav color and you picked just the right style of wheel for this car people back in the day here in the u.s would put that style wheel on there 911's the wheel was manufactured by bbs and they were used on alot of high end cars like porshe bmw used them as well even specific models of the late 80's and early 90's specialty trans am's the transam firehawks and the gta transams as well

It's a 'TARGA'. It has the 'TARGA' rear window. Just tape it off and hit it with black paint.

Wow I wish new Siku were still this scale. I have a couple new ones (Bugatti and Apollo), they are painfully big. They are probably 1/50? Shame. This 911 would be welcome in my collection any day. Great job!

I only had one Siku in my childhood car collection, a BMW 320i, it was one of my favourites as the detail in the model was so good compared to my Matchboxes.

As a Dutchman I grew up with a collection of Siku cars, they were always the 'quality' brand, I liked them better than Majorette and Hot Wheels. We didn't really have much Matchbox over here.
