If you were to do the "Wishbone" comparisons for "Phantom of the Opera", "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde", "Don Quixote", or "Oliver Twist", could you also do the comparisons for the respective musicals those stories are based on ("Phantom of the Opera", "Jekyll & Hyde", "Man of La Mancha", and "Oliver")? But you may want to listen to snippets from those musicals first.

Oh, that's a really interesting idea! I certainly want to do that for the Phantom of the Opera, the others I may listen to/watch first to see if there are any connections to the Wishbone episode worth noting. Thanks so much for the idea!

I read George Eliot for the first time last Victober (Adam Bede)-and fell in love. Now I will have to track down the Wishbone episode! What fun!

I remember this episode! Every time the intro plays I just get a wave of nostalgia and it makes me so happy :) This really made me want to read Silas Marner, may make it my first George Elliot novel.

I remember reading Silas Marner in high school and being way too callow to get anything out of it. You make me want to try reading it as an adult and seeing how my opinions have changed! Also, agree that the message about pet ownership is a strong one for the intended audience of Wishbone and a good adaptation of the themes in the book.
