I must say, I enjoy your approach to Silat. I honestly get flustered because of how many teachers on RU-vid and real life approach combat techniques as if their assailant/opponent were a static target. You actually seem to be bothered with combat applicability, and approach Silat accordingly. Have you or any of your friends checked out the PPS championship by chance?
HEY THANKS! I've always Been taught that martial is first. As a result I've always focused on real world application as primary and when something stretches that reality I try to be honest about it. I'm not familiar with PPS.
Professional Pentjak Silat Championship. They are a young full contact fight league for Silat. I think it is a step in the right direction to get the martial art out of its compliance based coma.

You don't always have the option of working to the outside. Outside is the preference most of the time but the system isn't about always having the option of doing what is preferred. It is about learning to use what you can get.
