Good technique...The symbol in the wall next to the mirror reminds me a lot the one used in Ed Parker's American Kenpo
@t.kentnelsonkskmartialarts3403
Sergio, thank you for your comment. The school we are demonstrating at is a Parker's Kempo school that became an Affiliate school in our program. The logo you see in the video is fusion of our two logos together. Check them out at MassAcademyMA.com We do two seminars a year there.

Am I wrong in assuming Kent is a student of M.M.? With the continued use of " does that make sense" I'm betting he is, lucky guy. Big ups. No unnecessary violence unless its called for. Cool. Smooth. Grow the arts.
@t.kentnelsonkskmartialarts3403
Thank you Stefan. My primary Silat instructor is actually Guro Dan Inosanto, although I have researched & trained with others as well. When you say "M.M.", I'm assuming you're meaning Guro Maul Mornie. Maul & I do know each other, and I have trained with him a few times. He is a fantastic representative of Silat, and a very nice person.

@@t.kentnelsonkskmartialarts3403 thanks, I feel the same way. After a short time, if we are lucky we find highly skilled teachers whom can be easily identified by their warmth, inner happiness and general good nature. When I was young I was confronted with the harsh realities on the less hospitable streets in the ghettos of D.C. and Baltimore. Through clairvoyant experiences I met my first teacher. A hard as nails product of Karate in Japans wartime culture. It worked. But I could only, when so blessed, hurt people. I was on a spiritual journey. Looking for a more effective and yet gentle path. In 1980 or 1981 I had another clairvoyant experience which led me directly to my last teacher. He gave me the tools to hurt a person gently. But it does take great patience, perseverance, and good fortune. The closest thing to the way I teach my students is how Maul and yourself deal with aggression. I try to avoid fighting if possible. The world makes the practice of Ahimsa challenging.. I stay in the EU for now. But would enjoy an afternoon with Maul or yourselves at sometime. Currently my go to mentor for joint manipulation is still Dr. Yang. He is only one of five men in the world I would spend my time with. As you grow older there is no commodity more precious than your time. Respect, and kind regards. Overcome the darkness. Return the light. Laoshr #60 Ching Yi Kung Fu Association. Vienna, Austria.

Nice to hear Dan's name and that you acknowledge Mornies Brunei an SSBD which he's obviously more skilled than many. Ever checked out the Silat girl with the iron leg etc, kicking light posts, concrete pillars etc-she's badass.. Nice skills, nice name. Kent/Kenta is quite common here in Sweden and well Lord Nelson was no slacker. I have an appartement on a street in Stockholm named "Nelson stigen" (Nelson's path". Local pub is called 'Lord nelsons' etc etc :P Which Silat style had you learned some from did you say besides JKD etc? From which peninsula/whatever.?

Do you include Kali/Arnis/etc stick fighting as Silat/KunTao varieties? If you where in Philippines you did Pencak Silat no?
@t.kentnelsonkskmartialarts3403
Thank you for your comment. Yes, our curriculums have a heavy Kali & Silat background. Our primary Silat root is the Madjapahit/Maphilindo Silat taught through the Inosanto lineage.
