A bad incident is like a tangled knot, It sits there, waiting for someone or something to untie it, but until then… scars may be left behind …
The Silence Channel is essentially a First person Horror Adventure video game that have a different game play and story compared to our previous project , "Dark Room".
You play as John Martin, an Investigative reporter sent to a remote location to check out rumours of unexplainable sightings. Convinced it is nothing more than local folklore and myth, you arrive an early morning in dense fog with the aim of taking a few photos, make a couple of interviews with the locals, and quietly depart to write up your local piece of gossip. Dare you enter the mysterious mansion?

Shazam identified the song that starts to play at 12:06. It's called "Ayneheh" by Farhad Mehrad, and it's on youtube as well. just type in the title and the singer's name and it'll return the result. wikipedia writes that he was a popular singer before the iranian revolution

If over half or more of the jump scares were cut this would be much creepier by virtue of the atmosphere. It has potential and I'd certainly enjoy a part 2.

OMG! that was Farhad's song that was playing on the radio. Also, all lost girls had Persian names. Is this game made by an Iranian team or something?! Because that note about masks actually was part of the song's meaning!

This is kinda interesting. Its nice to see a game without all the usual common assets too 😆. I think it's trying too hard with the jumpscares though. I like how the jack in a box was watching as you read the letter.

The jumpscares get me ALL OF THEM - even the ones I'm prepared for. And when I see you get jumpscared in the cam at the end. I get jumpscared all over again even though I already seen it once.

If this is the developers first time making a first-person horror then they did a superb job. Hopefully it serves well as a lesson for further growth. Some of the jump scares are better than most other horror games

Gotta admit, that's not what I call a cottage either. also, would trees be afraid of nightmares if the nightmares were about fire? ;oP Jumpscares and protagonists who arrive unprepared aside, this has my interest. Curious to see how this pans out. Part 2... yes, please!

This reminds me of the protag from The Door in the Basement, where he makes the decision of investigating the paranormal basement without bringing a flashlight. In this one though, not only did he not bring a flashlight, he's not toting a camera as well. I guess he'll be using his forefingers and thumbs as frames and do clicking sounds on the fly. Anyways, even if the jumpscares became repetitive, I still wouldn't mind seeing a Part 2 of this.

I'd like a part two. This game gets a lot right but as you said it could definitely be improved. But i like it enough that I'd like to see more! It needs an actual enemy so the jump scares mean something, and the power switch could've been used to swap back. Maybe swapping back and forth between times/areas and they change would be a nice addition. Add another layer to the game.

The jumpscares are not always working and there is "some" eveidence there would be "some" translation issues but I don't mind it. Would like to see the 2 part.

totally subjective but i find the game's [the very first spoken voice] narrator's voice to be amazing and perfect for this kind of game. :) the younger diary voiceover is not quite as amazing but again -- just subjective opinion. good one. lastly, wikipedia "safavi[d]": Safavid Dynasty was one of the most significant ruling dynasties of Iran [1500-1700s].."

a small tip from me to other game devs. Try to avoid sounds like that typical jumpscare slenderman sound. It is too well known since it became famous and thus makes your games feel cheap.
