Silent Hill turned 20 this year. And RU-vid gave me a chance to make some videos about Silent Hill even better. Let's find out why Silent Hill is considered one of the best horror games in the world.

Lisa Garland's (literally) bloody transformation, along with the eerie song appropriately titled "Lisa's Theme", was definitely the most emotional cutscene for me in Silent Hill. To this day, I still get the chills when I listen to it and my mind keeps re-living the images.

Oddly enough the song only consists of very few instruments. She helps you out no question and witnessing her existential crisis firsthand in real time but there is nothing you can do to help is dooming. Was really cool to see her still make an appearance in the movie though. That quick five to ten seconds is my favorite scene in the entire movie.

As much as I liked p.t, without Team Silent there is no Silent Hill. Every game that came after SH4 does not deserve to, and should not, be called Silent Hill.

A couple of things: the burning of Alessa is not Dahlia concealing it, the boiler explodes by accident due to the stress Alessa was enduring during the ritual. The soul separation is intended by Alessa, it doesn't happen by accident, she sacrifices herself in order to boycott the ritual. The 2 bad endings are not cannon, since if those 2 happened, there would be no Silent Hill 3. The only reason there's a SH3 is because Cheryl actually survived.

People have said that Capcom made multiple attempts to buy the IPs of Silent Hill and Metal Gear but Konami refused. I do not know how true this claim is, but if it really did happen then I have no doubt Konami refused to sell the rights to its games to milk those franchises with slot machines.

One of the developer did confirm that the ending where cybil dies but harry escapes with the baby is canon, in an interview; although when he looked back at that, he wished that the one where cybil survives and makes it out with harry was canon.

I thank you immensely for this video brother. Even if it's a reupload. I love this series. Damn I wish I could go back to the past. During my schooling days. When I first played sh1 on my baby ps1. I actually took the instructions to play it in a dark room work headphones on seriously lol. And I'd happily do it again. IMHO resident evil games are horror games with you as Rambo. Silent Hill games however are horror games with you going in naked at first. Stay blessed brother 🙏

I had my first taste of silent Hill in 2004 when I found silent hill 2 restless dreams for Xbox. It was truly haunting. At this time I had played a ton of RE, especially Code Veronica. So naturally, I figured I'd be fairly prepared for whatever horror this game has to throw at me. Then I met pyramid head and still to this day that f*cker haunts my dreams! Still a die hard Silent Hill fan no matter how many busts they've given us. I love the entire series!

One thing that I think it's worth mentioning here is the fact that some things in earlier versions of this game were misintepretated, badly translated in EU version mainly, which lead to increased difficulty when trying to solve some puzzles (Remember the piano?? that's the most famous one...) Other than that, the "Newspaper from 7 years ago", which usually didn't appear in US version gameplay, despite the fact that it is present in all the retail editions of the game... PS: Nice work! I really liked that you talked about the historical backgrond of the town...

Back when I was a kid, the Silent Hill games always looked way too creepy for me to play and I avoided them like the plague. Years and years later I watched a speed run of the 2nd game (Punchy at GDQ). After that I started to become very interested in the series and I fell in love with the masterpiece that is Silent Hill (mostly the Team Silent games)

This video prompted me to run my demo CD from original MGS for the second time in 21 years, now on the ps3. After the initial shock that it still works, I am quite impressed with the graphics, not so much with the combat: it takes about a full second of delay to actually start the attack animation. Also, the cutscene at the dinner is terrible, people who likes to make fun of OG Resident evil should take a look at it.

But the bad combat works for silent hill... it's no worse than resident evil. Which makes no sense as the characters in resident evil are trained special operatives, harry Mason is just a guy. So the poor combat adds to the fear and realism. Just my opinion of course

The first time I played this game I had a mental issue I was so scared to the point I did nothing for 2 month all I did is just sitting on my bed and stirring at the door of my room I was 10 at that time and when I grow up I started loving this game because after all that fear I became much more stronger and the only horror game that scared me a few years ago it was pt the demo of the new silent hill game (silent hills) and I was 20 years old at that time By the way I really enjoyed this video and I’m looking forward to more silent hill videos

Wow... that's rough... I was really scared when I played Resident Evil for the first time. When the very first zombie turned his head I was just like "nope, not today" 😁 But I still had that face in front of me every time I closed my eyes. He basically had to. RU-vid demonetized his entire channel and the Silent Hill videos were likely part of the reason. Getting his account and videos flagged are just another example of the long, ongoing issue with RU-vid and advertisers. You'd "think" they'd figure it out by doing something easy like, ask their advertisers the simple question "what type of content are you okay with having your ads played with?" But then RU-vid would probably lose .0000001% of their profits by "limiting" ads in that fashion. *cough*

There were insect monsters because Alessa didn't like insects. I learned in Ann Rice's channel that the fear of insects is often related to experiences of being raped, both in literature and in life (or something like that, I don't remember clearly). The theme of sex is incorporated in the game in such a subtle way.

You know...I actually don't know the reason. I can't find them either, the folder is just empty. It's been a while since someone asked me about them, so I haven't checked them for a very long time.
