Giromancy's level viewer is actually made with Unity engine and yes there's no texture warping because that was a psx rendering quirk. The textures are not upscaled so those actually look that good, it's really impressive when you see them without warping and in high resolution. It's not that the textures where high res or anything for that era but just how they are made.

31:06 jeeeeezus! Team Silent weren’t playing any games with the nightmare fuel for Silent Hill 1 lol. ESRB saw this shit and was like *YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO chill! Ya’ll gotta calm the fuck down* 😂 4:25:31 Also, I find the sewers is when the game abandoned the uncanny, unnatural horror style it had established so well earlier in the game and stooped down to Resident Evil’s basic “claws and fangs = scary” formula it used back then. The generic layout of the sewers didn’t help much either. This whole section just seems out of place and more in line with Resident Evil’s level of horror with giant cockroaches and reptilian creatures with big claws. If this was the only section of the game I had played(say at walmart or gamestop) i would have definitely dismissed it as a RE clone. Thankfully the game picks back up again at the Amusement Park onwards.
