it seems to me that fungo wants to distance himself so much from TRSHE and TP that he is willing to go full no boiler explosion team even if that means over theorizing the cult's intentions with little evidence to back it up . Or he could just have changed his mind....

Hey Fungo, love your content since TRSHE! My major problem with Silent Hill 2 is that out of all the cannon Silent Hill games, Silent Hill 2 does not give a good enough explanation - in my opinion- as to how James, Eddy, and Angela can "use" the spiritual power of the town to manifest their trauma. Remember, every other character be it Alessa, Heather, or Walter, either have inherent psychic powers, are deeply connected to the cult and its teachings, or both. However, in Silent Hill 2 all we have is three very disturbed individuals who are "called to" Silent Hill or have some tangential tie to the town "We had our honeymoon here" etc. Had the game been called Heaven's Night and been a very powerful poetic holdover till Silent Hill 3, no one would have been the wiser. Am I wrong?
