Shanice & Johnny Gill singing 'Silent Prayer' LIVE on 'The Arsenio Hall Show'. This is one of my favorite songs because I believe in prayer and how powerful it is.
One of my favorite Shanice songs. Nice live performance and duet with JG. This is when women singers still dressed respectable. Boy have times changed!
Clayton Eatmon hard to believe this was over 20 years ago. They're up there but not as old as Gladys Knight and Patti Labelle who can still hit the high notes.
VintageModernWoman you're so right Shanice has always been classy that's why the record labels didn't want to sign her anymore because she wouldn't dress slutty, what a waste of talent she a beautiful woman and can really sing.
Yes it was It brings back memories of that year in Norfolk,Va. and all the military personnel were gone. This was a very eerie and sad time.I think the song is fitting for this time in our country. This virus is an invisible war.Prayers for us all.
Two very talented vocalists putting their talents on display live not recorded, not lip sinking but live...step ya game up artists of today's era you know who you are.
Why on earth didn't such a uniquely talented and beautifully gifted singer as Shanice become just as famous as those even less talented than her? Even her name and smile are so uniquely beautiful, yes Shanice Willson, "I Love Your Smile" deeply also! Her life-giving energy and smile light up the whole world!
This is a very unique live performance. I never herd them perform it live let alone hear Johnny sing anything but the chorus. This was awesome! Way better than the album version. I love these two 3000.
I start to cry as soon as I hear this song. So many memories. My Army buddy's wife sent him this song while we were stationed in Desert Storm. I remember listening to it over and over again on our Walkmans, it gave us so much inspiration and determination. Unfortunately my buddy passed away a few years ago, and it is really difficult every time I listen to this song, but I close my eyes and enjoy those memories.
Ohh Sam . . . I'm so sorry. I'm thankful you made it through. Your service and others that have crossed over means the world to me. We wouldn't nearly be as safe if you all didn't sacrifice your lives for us. A Silent Prayer goes a long way and deep within 🌹
Shanice's label never released this beautiful song as a video way back during it's rotation. But regardless of it still we played it much in our homes and headphones. Thanks to Arsenio Hall' we can see Shanice and Johnny in this awesome performance. Thanks GingerSpice414 for sharing!!! 💯💯
It was huge on late night radio rotation back in the day. Back then I remember songs like Silent Prayer, Prince's Adore, Teena Marie's Oh La La songs never released as singles and had no music videos but were favorites of everybody.
I remember this live when it happened, Johnny was pushing her vocally.. To bring the best out of her. I see Jonny’s talent intimidated her at first! But she stepped up in the end!! Beautiful song!!!
I remember when I first Shanice Wilson, she was on Star search... We are the same age so I was amazed at that age she was a very confident singer....Her career ranges or 30 +years... she needs more recognition.....
I love!!!!! Johnny Gill & Shanice singing this duet together. They sound beautifully together. They should have sung more duets together. WOW!!!!! Thanks! GingerSpice414 for uploading this video.
Back when they were very young. I so do remember it especially, when my cousin went to fight in the desert storm wars. He didn't survive but, this song is still my favorite.
What a duo. Underrated talented. It's sad I have to go back to old school music to actually hear talented singers. I don't mind cause the music is so good.
This song still gives me chills from over thirty years ago so both are talented. Now this is real talent, not that crap music out today! We need RnB like this again!
