The process of taking a log and turning it into a wooden cooking spoon.
I take a cherry log and split it into quarters, then into eights. I then use an axe to process one of the pieces into a smooth billet to mark my center line and sketch up the approximate bowl shape. Than I use the axe to take all excess wood off before finishing with my 3” sloyd carving knife to get the final shape. After this it just needs to dry for a week or so before making finishing cuts with the sloyd knife and than burnished with a smooth stone and oiled with walnut oil.
