Thank you many many many,, I am from Bangladesh, have a bike design shop. Yesterday I faced this problem and all day night I have been searching such a helpful video.. Thank you so much.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was about to cry a river, I am from India and I run a sticker shop by cutting stickers on my portrait, there was no other option for me here other than self troubleshooting. I have tried this trick before as well but due to panic mode forgot that I could do this for my silhouette portrait. Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
I just purchased my cameo 4 this morning and already experienced this issue. I eventually figured out the solution (same as yours) and I honestly think the head travel is the issue. The autoblade is sensitive so the design is flawed already but I think if the head doesn't align with the little circle under it once it shifts right to plunge x amount of times to set the tool depth it won't set properly. They need to update the software so the head travels back to far left position everytime and have a sensor to verify that position. Also, the lock should be clamped down as opposed to clamped forward to hold the tool down on place. Overall engineering design flaw. Btw I used to be a process engineer for a major automotive manufacturing company this problem was common in manufacturing parts as well lol
You made me SO FREAKING HAPPY...I've been just a *wee bit* frustrated with the autoblade not working correctly and this solution totally fixed the problem!!!
This absolutely worked for me. I was getting so upset with this new machine I was ready to haul back the old one. Thanks for all your help with your video, saved my sanity and machine
Thank you. I had problems from day one. Mine either didn't cut or sliced thru the mat. Silouette wouldn't help since I didn't have their mat. Total rip off. I have to adjust for everything. This should help many frustrated people. :)
@@louisesuydam4604 I swear my husband was telling me I’ll buy you another one but then I found you and I swear tears where going to fall!!! Like I said Thank you you saved my Silhouette!!!
ITS NOT YOU ITS THE BLADE!! If this excellent tip still doesn't fix your problem - just get a new autoblade! 99% of the time the blade is defective but of course Silhouette doesn't want you to know that and lets you keep trying to fix it until you are crazy. Also do your test cuts on cooy paper - medium setting. No point wasting good materials. If it doesn't work on that it won't work on anything else. You might need to increase force until it cuts clean but new blade should work. Keep in mind blades are delicate and break way too easily!
thank you so much! this video helped me. My machine started cutting opposite direction, it wasn't working correctly. I've been searching and searching for help. what are the silhouette groups you belong to?
OMG YES! This is a problem I have been fighting with for days now on the machine I got for Christmas 2021, Thank you ever so much this help!!! Any suggestions on how to stop the paper from spinning itself even with the rollers down? Oh and how to turn on the cut feature since the icon doesn't work in the send panel.
I just unpacked my new, first one, Silhouette Cameo 4, plugged it up, took all the tape off, and when I turn it on, it makes a horrible, loud noise for about 2 minutes, then quits. My housing is not moving at all, kinda like is is locked. I have read the comments from as many as I could and have watched a dozen videos. Nobody mentions this. HOW is the housing locked and unlocked?
damn i was hoping this would work. I have tried everything. Cleaned my blade, switched off and reinstalled software and now this but still not ratcheting.
It didn't matter what I did mat or no mat. This fixed my issue and ****knock on wood*** no issues since then and I have been cutting both way vinyl, cardsyock, plastic
Im sorry. Silly question but was it off when you did it? If so im out of options. There is a calibration setting for the machine you could also try that or a new auto blade. I do know some of them have been defective
