Sili (Ladakhi Name) or Tibetan Sand Fox (Vulpes ferrilata) is one of the rare mammals of Ladakh. Over the past couple of decades, this mammals has been hardly spotted and filmed.
Here is a video of this rare mammal of ladakh shot on a mobile phone with the help of Scope by Wildlife guest of Ancient Tracks, - a local travel company rendering wildlife tours in Ladakh. The team who spotted this rare sand fox were 1. Lindy Scheider (Kaas Tjappings on facebook), Netherlands, 2. Stijn Hofhuis, Netherlands, 3. Mumammad Ridwan, Indonesia, 4. Namgyal Raja, Leh Ladakh, and Karm, Agling, Tibetan, Leh ladakh. It was spotted in eastern Ladakh near Tasabuk Tso, Tsokar Lake, Ladakh on 18th May 2018 early moring at around 06:00 am.
