Warhammer, has to be, Tyrannids and Imperial guard, i'm sure some russian modder will do it, if theres one thing the russians do good, it's warhammer mods lol, (and tbf, mods in general, but warhammer ones, Men of War 2 w40k mod, Arma 3 "there is only war", thoses 2 are amazing, and i'm sure theres more)

I never realized how strongly I have desired a RTS/FPS Hybrid like this until I saw Silica last year, and I am even more excited about all the progress you are making with development! I’ll be keeping a close eye on your updates and avidly await the full release 🙌

Adding modding to early access when the game isn't even finished is an awful idea, finish the game first to give a solid foundation, then extend with mods.
No. Every update will just break the mods, all the modders will get frustrated and quit, and by the time the game is stable enough to be a good modding environment there will be nobody left to develop mods. Seen it literally dozens of times.
Omg this is amazing this is the kind of stuff ive been asking for. One thing i would love to see implimented in the game is for the infantry to be able to build trenches, barbed wire, small fortifications. just an idea for you guys, but im assuming that you have already had something like that in mind planned out. over all this is amazing!
Sandbox game mode sounds super cool. I can play till my hearts content. But what I would really love is a type of grand campaign mode. Sort of like what Total Conflict Resistance has where you have a world map you can take over.
i absolutely love this game. i play it a LOT. i hope commanders can give units to players to command and formations, i would love to command a group of behemoths that fire on my target and such. oh man i'd be so OP with 10 behemoths all hitting 1 target >:D
Id love to see improved pathfinding with the wheeled vehicles like the armored cars. Whenever i try to order a cluster of units (especially and type of car) to move somewhere, it turns into a monster truck rally of cars trampleing each other to get to the point. It would be cool if they did it like how empire at war does where the units automatically take a formation when going to the same place.
I just discovered this yesterday and I was blown away by the idea, the setting, the units and how it all comes together! Wow, I am so impressed! I immediately bought it and will dive right into it. I love the alien design! The roadmap sounds promising. You talked about new maps with new biomes..Will you have real jungles and natural temperate forests? I would love that. Forest/jungle maps would focus on close range encounters and so might favour the aliens but there are ways to deal with that. Lifelike forest areas, some.maybe more densely grown and some more lightly, would create a very cool.dimension to the game as I see it. I would love it. First of all I want to get right into the game 😊

you should offer an option to keep troops in same formation they are selected in. Maybe middle mouse click to keep them fanned out for instance. Otherwise they just pile up and cant depart quick enough.
A brightness slider or a bloom toggle would be a welcome addition. I get a lot of the game is set in the desert though are we seriously suggesting soldiers of the future don't have sunglasses or the bugs haven't evolved an equivalent? Speaking of sunglesses this is the first & only game I have to wear any to make it playable though I'm more worried about monitor burn out.
People don't realize the details of the models is pretty crazy but yes definitely need to work on the UI / the text on top attack this etc is abit weird can't wait for next update
I think it would also be good if there was a way to make money without harvesters. Ideally it would make less money than harvesters, but still enough that in the late game you can still make enough money to keep producing units. This will make it to where you no longer have to depend on harvesters moving to silica patches far away from you to make enough money to defend yourself once the close silica patches run dry. Also you should be able to go first person into turrets. Anyways good work on the game so far, keep it up!
This is like my wet dream of a game, but I'm worried about getting it due to recent reviews and not really seeing any updates on the game's progress. I'm just worried it's been abandoned...
@@TheDogtag2336 Yea patience is key with this game. The vision and groundwork is great. It just takes time to execute it. I've been playing rts games since a long time. Personally I like multiplayer most, but single player is played more often. For example the FAF client for Supreme Commander Forged Alliance. This is a multiplayer client, but it's being used even more for single player. Crazy.
I just learned about this game today. Super looking forward to this game! Will it be possible to play with multiple FPS teammates and one teammate is the RTS builder?
Hehe, completely get you, but it is not surprising. People are waiting for more features, content and most importantly, the improvements to AI and performance, both of which are on the way, so by 1.0 I expect player numbers to rise significantly.

Man I honestly dont want to see skill based matchmaking in this game. I dont feel like it has anything to add, but it stands to fragment the already small playerbase pretty significantly.
Completely understand your concern and rest assured the idea is not to make a competitive environment but rather a fair and fun one. I intend it to mainly avoid situations where a new player is matched against a veteran and just has a bad time. That said, matchmaking will not be mandatory! It is meant to just help people hop in and play. But I completely get you and 100% agree. I do not want a toxic community.
@@DramTheThief That makes sense, but really only for commanders. I've seen in other games with relatively small communities where the more experienced players will for the most part help guide new players instead of take advantage of their inexperience and I don't think Silica will be any different

And whats more important for 2024, continue nerv units, weapons, vehicles and sights more into the ground as ever bevore. You had fun with weapons and tech before? Well, we have to change that. It was a good game at the start but with all that 'ballancing' changes for the special part from the community it is only boring crap. Imagine Bohemia would change ArmA in that way.
Yes it will be left out of there, no worries! The main idea is not to create a super-competitive environment, but rather match players of similar skills to ensure a fun match for all.

Now we have September 2024 and I was like buy it now cheap on steam, bought it after i realised still no shit save possible in Solo play,, what a crap. This is the last time I bought a game from Bohemia, you people never hold what you say.
I think (in my humble opinion, playing the game for many hours) Things that *NEED* an update/need to be added, is better AI pathing overall, and some sort of repair unit for the humans. Pathing is still painfully bad, to the point where aliens are MASSIVELY overpowered compared to humans, purely in the fact their harvesters never get stuck, so they always have a constant smooth income. Yet the humans, you build more then one or two harvesters, and they fight to the death for the resources that already deplete way too quickly. My friend (Who was new to RTS games, and had no clue what they were doing) was able to beat me purely in the fact that they just spammed out Shrimp at the start, and were swimming in cash, while I spent *too long* manually taking control of my harvesters to get them unstuck. Now for the second half, repair units for the humans. Aliens heal over time, so they can just poke you now and then, leave come back, leave come back, and because there is no way to repair your already ludicrously expensive turrets. Dumping 2k into a turret that yes, hits like a truck, but once it gets hit by a wet noodle it keels over, because a horned crab was able to walk right up to it cause it can't hit the broad side of a barn. Clicking on a base building, and seeing it at low health and knowing there is nothing you can do about it just sucks. Don't get me wrong, I adore this game and play it lots with my friends. Just giving my two cents on what should be done *before* adding more maps and modes, and lots of content when I think at least, these are two major issues that need fixing first. If you've even made it this far, thank you for your time 💜
Thank you so much for the feedback! 100% agree and that is indeed the plan! Some things need to be completed before diving into AI because it has adverse effects on its implementation, such as the Queen, but otherwise the plan is to overhaul the AI to be more performant and much more capable. I am really looking forward to this task btw :D As for balancing etc, yeah, totally agree the state is aaarg, but it is an in-between step until AI is sufficiently capable, in which case it will be time to do a balancing pass. Right now it wouldn't make much sense, so please bear with me until that is done. Thanks again!
