Unofficial soundtrack?? You could have fooled me man, this fits the series PERFECTLY. Dark, eerie, jarring, you can feel the static racing down your spine! Amazing work.
Never thought about putting it into words as the "heart of a dying synth" but I'm totally gonna steal this from you next time someone asks me for a description of my music. Thank you x1000! Means a lot to me
The silicon life's Netsphere interface was absolutely insane. Later I went back and read the chapter where Cibo and her team tries to connect to the Netsphere, and their interface (the subject's) is very similar but more humanly mechanical, whereas Davine Lu's was very alien looking. Such an incredible world Nihei created.
This is *_fantastic!_* I've just finished Blame v6, and I was always fascinated by what everything would've sounded like with the setting's crazy acoustics. Now I have a clearer picture! Was thinking of making a motion comic or something out of it one day, practice up my shoddy sound effect skills.
I think some of the tracks of C&C Tiberian Sun fit Blame! quite well. Imagine Killy wandering the endless megastructure while listening to the Tracks Gloom, the Menu Theme, Approach and Ion Storm.
"Now, contradiction catapults my soul into a new, triumphant birth. Rhapsodic, bathed in perfect grace, I sail for eons -- blessed, in beatific tranquility, alive in a universe of glory -- at play with angels above this fierce and holy sun. But, transient as elemental thought, my voyage lasts but brief millennia. Sweeping on a high, wide spiral turn, my ship of rapture flounders, grounded on mortality's reef. Particles reassemble and memories coalesce around my swelling sense of self. I must start the long return to corporeality and reclaim my body's tawdry clay."
Haha thanks my dude. And hey, this is just my interpretation of the Blame universe and one perspective doesn't invalidate other ways of seeing its world and lore :)
