The lower level streets of The City are as unforgiving as they are grimy. Thousands of years before the we are introduced to our protagonist, there was only murder, harsh labour and a doomed species. Aeons later, we come across the wanderer, who found himself in the now empty, menacing and labyrinthine streets of The City. But by then, the City had already expanded beyond Jupiter's planetary orbit. Despite its sheer size, it's the streets and alleys where forlorn inhabitants roam, albeit without any real purpose or one that is long forgotten.

When I was reading Blame, this was sounding while I firts saw Shanakan revealing herself as the killing machine she is. Since then, this is Shanakan's theme to me, it was incredibly fitting
