you would probably also love parker, cinq a sept, aritzia, joie, vince, zimmermann,rebecca taylor..they tend to have nice silk blouses/shirts too

I know this video is old but it was so helpful. I've just bought 2 silk shirts from Zara. In ivory and black. They look so beautiful on that it does justify the price tag. They do look amazing and lux

Great video! Thanks for the information. I have an Ann Taylor silk-like blouse but based on your recommendation, I will now be purchasing an Equipment blouse 😊. Oh, and I purchased a steamer from Amazon a couple of years ago and it has significantly reduced my dry cleaning bills 😊! I now can't live without one.

thanks for this. i wish more people would ask for silk so they stop producing pretty shirts in Polyester for the same price! that's a pet peeve of mine!

I know everlane silk is $98 and some blouses like ted baker which is polyester is $7i and that is for a red baker cami. Most of my blouses are silk and I never looked back. ☺

Couldn’t agree more.. I saw some nice blouses around $99 in Australia, no doubt they are BEAUTIFUL but 100% polyester. I don’t mind getting them if they were $39 as the material isn’t worth that high price

I hate how it's just about everything polyester these days. I don't think most people realize how many chemicals are used to produce synthetic fabric, and they're basically wearing plastic sprayed with fire retardants because they catch fire easily.

Awesome!!! How do you like it??? hehe Which one did you get? A signature slim? They're definitely a bit pricey at full retail, but so infinitely wearable!

I did get the signature slim and it is absolutely perfect!! It was pricey but I already love it so much and want to get more haha I'm starting my first job in NYC soon and knew that I needed to upgrade my cotton button downs. Thank you so much (P.S. I also bought a pair of J.Crew Elsie pumps from your other video haha)

lol those equipment shirts ARE ADDICTIVE. this is why i have so many haha. but seriously, check out the sales at saks off 5th or nordstrom rack. they always have some patterned options on discount once you've exhausted all the solid options ;) and yay, elsie! they're so comfy.. i may need to get another pair soon hehee

I was just wondering whether or not buy a silk shirt because I HATE putting a cotton shirt underneath sweaters in winter (even though i really like them in spring/summer). I think I can try the Equipment shirt on in my city in Italy. Thanks for the suggestion. Are they sheer or completely opaque?

Well this convinced me. I was eye-ing a white silk shirt from Equipment and went home to try my old white shirts - just to see how I feel about them and whether I should take the plunge. Basically - you said it! I love the look of white shirts but they don't really fit or drape the female body right - so I'm going for it! Thanks!

Can you do a video on styling silk shirts that are more sheer, like the Everlane white silk shirt? I have trouble finding what to wear underneath so my bra doesn't show!

Ah, most critical is a nude bra that is a perfect or close to perfect match for your skin! I find if I can find that, then the sheerness of silk shirts isn't usually an issue.

Joanna, check out Aritzia as well! They have wonderful silk shirts in the Everlane price range... maybe 80-130? Super super cute blouses! Chic, but work appropriate as well!

OH! Yes, I love Aritzia. They have such few stores in the US... but mostly, they have kind of crappy e-commerce (like no free ship/free returns) which is my fave way to shop #lazy lol. But, I always go there when I'm in Toronto. One of my favourite dresses is from there... the Wilfred brand! If I could go back and buy 3 of them, I would!!! It's seriously the best. dress. ever. :) Unfortunately, a bit worse for wear now

I've been looking into Equipment blouses, which is how I came across this video. Would you recommend this for petites? And did you have to size up or down?

I think the sleeves will be long for petites but I often roll up my sleeves anyway orrr they're under a jacket so it's not a big deal! For the slim fit, they are true to size (european sizing not American generous sizing like at the Gap or something). For the classic fit it is a looser fit so up to you on your fit preferences whether to size down or not!

Depending on brands, i am usually 2-4. Signature fit i have a S--it is loose but that's the look. for slim fit, i think S is perfect.

Love your videos. I have a small Collection of luxury bags (7) but sometimes I am in a bad mood about it if the stuff is waste the money? Sometimes I love the things sometimes I wish I never bought some expensive bags. Did you have the same thoughts sometimes? : /

I do! But less so with the bags that I consider 'investment bags' because I know worse comes to worse, I'll be able to recoup the cost :) I definitely feel that way about bags that have not stayed valuable and that i rarely use... it doesn't even matter if it was $50 or $500 or $5000. Waste is a waste!

Love you video. I am crazy about silk shirt either. Equipment is awesome, the re are also some other brands like Vince and Theory. Especially Theory, their silk shirts are really heavy and have luxury touching.

ooo i haven't tried theory silks. i have vince. the thing i think i like most about equipment is that they're super consistent with the styles and you know exactly what youre getting when you get one of their signature silks since that's their bread and butter! but my fave dress ever is a silk tunic from vince. i literally could have that made in 20 different patterns and wear it every day.

Hi Hilary! I'm not sure what 66 means? I just googled and sounds like that is a US medium? The shirt Im wearing in video is Actually not the slim version. I have a size small. It fits more loose like a medium or even bigger. My patterned one I believe is a slim signature. That one I have in medium and it is true. I would say slim signature is True to size. For me, I could probably do the small in slim signature too, but I like looser fits :) If you are US medium, go for the medium in slim signature.

What size do you wear for everlane and equipment? I want to try equipment but the sleeves looks long even on a 5 10” model:)

There are many styles but I generally find the small size to be suitable in the signature style. I agree the sleeves are verrrry long in the signature style but I always wear mine rolled unless under a blazer so it’s not a problem. If wearing under blazer, the cuff is tight enough to prevent the sleeve from slipping lower.

A lot of the items of on Equipment are not silk, they are a polyester viscose combination and usually cost around $230.00. In fact their "Essential Shirt" is a blend with no silk for $230.00. If you want to buy silk on their site, you're going to pay a minimum of $280.00. I go on Nordstoms and other sites all the time and will see a great price on an Equipment blouse only to find it's polyester ergo the price. The blouses on Equipment are all silk and approximately $110.00 I'm curious to see how badly they wrinkly, as you say. Fwiw, JCrew for years made beautiful silk blouses for approximately $110.00, I just ordered two-one was a leopard print and while is was billed as silk and is nice only God knows what it is made of. The black blouse was an embarrassment-it was crinkly and almost "hard". It also came so badly packaged it was a wrinkly mess. That store is just lost.

Hi! Love your videos and your style from what I've seen so far! :) I love white/ ivory silk shirts myself and hence can never have enough in my wardrobe, even though they might all look the same, haha... Also love your dainty necklace you are wearing in this video! Is it the Tiffany & Co Diamond by the Yard one? I'll be getting this piece soon! ;) Looking forward to more videos to come!

Thanks! I've got one scheduled for this evening (trying to keep up my Thursday schedules ;)). The necklace is definitely like the DBTY, but mine is not. It's just a diamond solitaire (don't think it has any known designer) on an 18K white gold chain.. If you're looking to save money and don't care about the brand but want the look, definitely just look for a diamond solitaire from any jeweler! You'll save a bunch vs. Tiffany's and probably get yourself a bigger carat diamond heehee

Is it creepy to ask what kind of undergarments you wear with white silk? I tried on an equipment shirt from Nordstrom and it was beautiful. But I was scared of how thin and delicate the white is :O

No! Not at all. I forgot to mention this in my video. Get a nude bra that's closest to your natural skin tone. Nude bras are the only way to go when wearing white!

The whisper weight cami from Commando in nude is what I wear with white shirts. Commando is great for undergarments. It lasts forever and is totally worth the money. I have this cami in nude and white.
