You remind me of a friend I had back in High School. He would put on his flowered tropical shirt and lip-sink his ass off. If you hadn't heard the song before you would swear it was him. His name was Roberto DeFrates. He died in Vietnam in 1972. You looked like him to me. It was a great memory. Thank you.
My opinion on the short track list. 1. Quality > Quantity 2. They have to leave us wanting more or we won't wanna be listening to it 24/7 3. 9 tracks is perfect for a vinyl which is the old school stuff they're going for

Jamel, An Evening With Silk Sonic Takes me back to the 1970s, specifically, 72-77. I’ve listened to it twice and I heard the influence of James Brown, Joe Tex, Earth Wind and Fire, the Isley Brothers, Bootzilla himself and a thread of MJ shot through the fabric of Silk Sonic. I’m sure as I listen again and again I will pick up on other influences. I’m grateful I lived in the 70s. R&B had such a profound effect on me growing up as a teen. All I can say is it made me feel good!
So many different sounds on this album. Along with those you mentioned I’m also hearing a little billy Joel. Jamiriqua. Stevie Wonder. Chi-lites. They used everyone that inspired them to become musicians. Now hopefully with this style it’ll inspire some kids to learn how to make music with real instruments and real voices instead of a computer.
After listening to it the third and fourth time I could hear Marvin Gaye, The Stylistics, Rare Earth and the usual greats i.e., Temptations and Four Tops.

Fantastic reaction! There is SOME good music today but as a 61 year old I truly, truly appreciate this album! They really, really get it and ALWAYS exhibit excellent musicianship! Agree that it was way too short and three more songs would have been perfect. That said I appreciate these Brothers giving us a gem in a world filled with rocks!💯
