I second that. Without a proper setup and Sony or Marvel wasn't willing to put Cindy Moon with either Holland or Garfield spiderman it would be doomed to fail anyway

silk is one of my favorite female spider-character. i even like her better than spider-gwen. so hearing this just made me sad.

No it wouldn’t. And I actually genuinely enjoy silk but there’s no 2 hour movie you’re squeezing out of her without a Spiderman to lean on

I know that it’s related to the maker or whatever but you can change that for like Morlun and the inheritors. And you can set up a live action spider-verse that way

i would say silk has much more of a strong personality type than spider-gwen.

you know silk had more stories recently. sure they were mini-series but they did come out. people were reading those. i at the every least i was there for those times. i was there reading the Thompson run on silk (2015 - 2017), Maurene Goo's mini-series from 2021), and both of Emily Kim's mini-series - the 2022 and 2023 series. she does have a fanbase; it's just marvel doesn't push her into the limelight like spider-gwen. which for me, i think silk is a more interesting character than spider-gwen. all spider-gwen got going for her is that she's a cool design. she is so boring as a character, that she can't have her own story in her own universe. she has to jump to another universe for her stories to continue.
