One thing that stood out to me was how Matt flipped the script on how Cyrus operates. Robbie said he wrote Cyrus as the archetypical perfect noble sibling...and Matt somehow twisted it perfectly to make sense. Robbie's description and writing of his brother became less how Cyrus is and a lot more of how Dorian saw his older brother, which is so cool because it fits with how younger siblings can put the older ones on a pedestal in a sense....But now i really wanna know how much the changes in Cyrus affected how Dorian evolved as a character during his time with the group (and possibly in Kymal but I'm not sure Cyrus is in it much or at all but I'm about to go watch it)

Love how much Matt seems to appreciate Liam going that extra mile with his descriptions in combat, that was one of the small things in C2 that I absolutely adored how Caleb would always be so descriptive of casting his spells. I'll never forget those wall of fire and other dramatic moments.

I think next time Robbie is on this show, all of the papers in his mug are going to have the same question: Who was Dorian crushing on?

Robbie's chemistry with the main cast and his attention to character details and RP are so ridiculously good. Major bummer that he's not in the main campaign anymore

the idea that Laudna was inspired by a nightmare, and not only that, it was such a vivid one, she was later able to USE it in game as an illusion to terrify a guard, is incredible. i bet matt caught that, cause i know she would've told him about that. Isn't that the one where the guard just straight up passed out from fear?

Going off on a spirit journey to find yourself & coming back with a 40,000GP bounty is just going to college in the US. It's expected at this point.

I feel like my brain explodes every time I remember that Robbie's first game was EXU. Like, hot jesus he did so fucking good. He's so good at roleplaying and getting into character, and surprisingly good at the mechanics. The man must have done a lot of studying.

Robbie explained PERFECTLY the thing I love the most about D&D. Being able to let go of your preconceived notions about yourself by convincing yourself you are another person, letting you express and feel things in a new way, can lead to some amazing realizations.

What Matt is describing at 1:13:32 is one facet I love about DnD 5e. Mechanics and flavor are almost completely divorced in 5e. This allows the rules to remain simple while giving you all the leeway for creativity with your character concepts. I love how this is further enhanced by Backgrounds. Back in the day, if you picked Thief, you were automatically a Criminal. But now, you can choose to be a scout in a respectable military unit thanks to Soldier or a plucky Robin Hood type with Folk Hero, or an inquisitor of the church with Acolyte. The most unlikely matches are possible and spark the imagination.

I gotta say, if this was just Talks but with different host it would've been super weird, but this format is actually pretty fun

The Flower child encounter in a dream has some interesting history to her. Even when Marisha created the illusion in the game it has some powerful authenticity to it.

It made me really happy to see Dani again. Like an instant serotonin hit

As a man with ADHD, Travis' story about getting into whittling for exactly 3 minutes hits hard. I can't even count the number of pseudo-hobbies I've gone through in my life, and I'm only 26! So it's good to see a proud, successful man like Travis admit to the same behavior. He's good representation of people like us. 🙂

I feel like Chetney's current mission has him hunting down the Easter Bunny. In a 2020 NYCC they joked about Chetney taking out all of the holiday characters, so with wolves naturally hunting bunnies and rabbit folk being a thing, it just makes sense. The Easter Bunny might be living in the Feywild as well, which is why he's trying to get in close to Fearne, a possible gateway into that realm so he can complete his mission. That would be a great little arc for him and lead to future one-shots or stories with Chetney centered around the other holidays.

Totally late to the party, but finally able to catch up after a year. Finding out about Laudna, then quicly going back to look at LoVM S1... that episode at the end, and there she is, front and center... followed by the last words of the episode being Marisha saying, "It's us..." Chilling. I love Laudna so much more than I already did.

The ABSOLUTE chaos that began this episode has not only met expectations but went beyond them. What an incredibly joyful group of people

I actually did do a Master's essay on D&D and how it impacts dialogue and social growth (and cited CR at times haha). There's quite a lot of interesting information on how TTRPGs can provide people with spaces to explore their own insecurities.

I'm kinda shocked at how many people ship Dorian-Imogen or Dorian-Laudna. It's not in a bad way, It's just not what I was expecting. But I really enjoyed this first episode of 4-sided dive

I can't stop thinking about a lot of the reveals on this show, but The fact that even the people at the table were not sure what the "Romantic Vibes around the table" was referring to is still the one that gets me the most, and not because I am dying to know who Robbie meant. Robbie had just been going over his intention of seeing whether he could play a character that was truly insecure and deeply vulnerable, but that was also charismatic, if that were possible. I have adored real people who are just like this I admit, when he first brought up the idea I was sure I knew exactly what he was talking about. I had been reading a dynamic between Dorian and Oram that made me think that in the time offscreen between EXU and their arrival in Djrusar there had been more than one of those Romance Manga Trope moments. The ones where both characters see each other blush and acknowledge what it means but it stays so achingly pure despite that. Just a lingering hand on a cheek after a flower is grown over the ear, or a few flute notes lingering in the wind in a way that only those attuned to that element would really appreciate. It was so obvious and adorable to me until Marisha got all cute and excited and yelled Imogen's name at Robbie. I was immediately impressed that what had looked obvious to me could have been so easily applied elsewhere. I think the whole table really knocked it out of the park playing together and making this kind of content frenzy possible.

So I'm watching this after only seeing some highlights of C3 and damn, now I understand why they invited Robbie to be a part of the campaign. He's got a different energy than the rest, he's extremely funny and quick-witted, and it's a joy to listen to him talk here.

The show is already a 10/10. Great job everyone involved! Can’t wait to see more of this!💚💚💚

As someone who has also won a competitive video game they never played before, I feel Travis's joy and I'm LOVING it.

1:16:00 AHHHH Stephen Colbert is coming back???? His Red Nose Day episode was the first CR episode I ever watched the whole way through! I freakin loved it! That was before I even played D&D, since then I have started DMing and I ended up writing it that whole adventure out. I ran it for players twice now! It's turned out to be an excellent little railroad that's easy to play for new DMs and new players (: Fun fact: when I ran it with my family, and the Necromancer asked "Where do you mortals keep your generosity?" I was NOT prepared at all for my sister to **ACTUALLY ANSWER HIM** and tell him it was in the heart. I answered both in-and-out of character "What? What did you say?" before another PC shushed her. She recovered beautifully with a "Uhhh, I said it's in your... fart!", which started the fight off.

Matt saying that Travis needs some Gamer Goop is such a good callback to when he played Monopoly with Arin.

I'm just saying, I'd totally watch 2 hours of the cast just talking to themselves 😂

So happy to finally get to hear the cast talk about their characters (and whatever else comes to mind) again! The format worked pretty well - the advantage of no host being that it maximizes time spent for the cast to talk - although I don't really see the point of the Chega tower as of yet. (Hoping the penalty for toppling it involves dancing and/or singing!) Only once a month will be a LONG wait... But I do see the production-side logic in (at a guess) shooting this during the 1-2 week interval between the last main-campaign episode each month and the first of the next.

This is so damn casual and I love that. I keep laughing and giggling along, it just so, I don’t know the word… it’s like that stupid warmth you get around your close friends are just hanging out. There’s gotta be a word for that.

Geez! Just make Robbie permanent already. We all want it.

I’m glad they went with this concept instead of bringing in a new host to replace Foster. It will be hard to find anyone who cares and understands all the campaigns, characters and lore as much as Brian, not to mention the skill to host and chemistry with the casts. Edit: Speculating about Brian’s departure is unnecessary and harmful. He’s clearly still in good terms with the casts, based on their social media posts. Laura even gave a shoutout to him and Talks when 4 Sided Dice premiered. I know many of us miss him, but there’s no need to play the blaming game.
