the hunt for the truth in flycasting continues.
Michael Rebholz is revising and reevaluating the sport of fly fishing and shines a different light on the fly fishing influencer swamp in our beloved sport as well as he is showing major flaws of a silly system that fly fishing has been brainwashed with.‪@LoopTackle83‬ ‪@SexyloopsTV‬ ‪@AprilVokey‬ ‪@swingthefly5110‬

Michael, it would be great to see you actually fishing and showing various casting methods. I believe that your largest potential audience are single- handed rod users mostly fishing upstream. Your input on leader setups would be useful too.

Dear sir, I have watched several of your videos and just getting into two-handed flycasting. I was impressed with some of your unusual casts. It is unfortunate the way that you have been badly treated, but I believe that if you want to start changing things, you need to start teaching and stop complaining about others. I don’t care what other casting instructors are teaching. I want to learn what you have to teach. thank you. Please start doing that or else I will seek out somebody who will. You didn’t demonstrate one casting technique in this video. thank you

I agree. Lots of talk, no action!

Oh yea guys !!! 😤…he is talking about fly casting, you want to catch fish, and it’s nothing wrong with that other than maybe that it’s exactly what the problem is in the media field CATCHING it’s the filter that it doesn’t allows us get through deep enough to see the full picture os this beautiful game, and ask questions like in the actual fly casting approach clip. In other words, it’s a lot successful incompetent fly casting influencers catching fish, but they can’t tell the difference between casting arc and casting stroke, action or power on a rod blank… and so on. Open your mind and enjoy the sport more outside the catching mode but from the essentials that makes everything so enjoyable 😃 It’s time to get more young people in to the sport from the essentials and less from the marketing of tight loops and hero fish pictures 😒

I agree. Moan, moan, moan. I know a better way to then show us.

Hi, just wanted to clarify one thing from the physics point of view. There are several kinds of energy and transfer mechanisms. Fly casting deals mostly with mechanical energy (kinetic + potential energy). The main transfer mechanism of mechanical energy is work (in a physical meaning as force over a distance), but waves are not related to all energy transfer, in this case the rod as a moving object transfers the energy to the fly line through work. Loops in a fly line are just the result, as a shape, of material properties and geometry of a fly line and the mechanical energy acting in it. I assume you are educated, for the way you talk, there are interesting papers made by physicists and engineers in google scholar just typing fly casting, they have studied the mechanics of fly casting and fly line behaviour, just from a scientific point of view. Cheers!

The question is how we control it. Nobody cares about the physics. Just clarifying. I m talking about the mindset and the loop in flycasting is a conceptional mistake in itself. Have u heard of the science of control theory? Much more valuable to the caster, check out the upcoming FlyQ S1E8 . Open loop vs closed loop control. I win. U can win too.

There is no way that you can come close to Lefty Kreh when it comes to fly casting. He was the best ever.

Kreh was a great caster but more importantly a great teacher. His audience was mostly novice to intermediate and he was an excellent self-promoter. He's probably among the best casters, but there's a multitude of people equally proficient.

@@tommythompson9090 I agree with everything you said and there certainly are many excellent casters these days. I should have expanded my comments to include that Lefty contributed far more than just casting to fly fishing. He was an ambassador, innovator, teacher and generally positive influence on fly fishing.

🫡 Changing is hard because you have to admit you were feeding students with the wrong approach to fly casting

I agree, but ut s also easy. Just change and get on with it and enjoy the sport even more and grow much faster
