A low intelligence Legion affiliated Courier breaks Silus out of NCR imprisonment, somehow... 5:13 button to skip the sexual tension between Carrie and Silus.
@@blainwhitton1170 According to the Fallout Wiki, Silus had an Intelligence rating of 4. Just below average, so, yep. Interrogation tricks would work if they're persistent enough.
@Alvi Syahri There's an idea. Another variation might be something like: My Courier: [Per 8] "So I understand at least one of the Legion's co-founders was Mormon." Silus: "Yes, the man we shall not speak of." My Courier: "Not what I'm getting at. We have a working coffee machine to the left of the lockers, outside..." Silus: "Ceasar is showing signs of a terminal health condition, and there appears to be a disagreement in methodology between Legate Lanius and Vulpes Inculta. Coffee. Now." My Courier: *Sets a fresh cup in front of him* "Go on."
I was sure he was lying at first, about to either say something like "His name is captain Dumbass, and you two look like twins. Did you really thought I'd believe you?" or frame an actual NCR officer whose face he doesn't like.
@@mr.intruder1536 Indeed, some people will not like you because of your stupidity or even refuse to talk to you. Other will treat you like a child and others still try to take advance of you. XD
@@cameron-yo6zp Driver Nephi is an infamous meme FNV character as you can speak with him with a mod that restores his dialogue, his farewell to you is just "get fucked".
He says that, because he tries to be inconspicuous. Talking to the Courier who like Boyd said, "sticks out like a sore thumb" isn't very inconspicuous... XD
Pretty sure if you saved a guy from getting killed in a harsh prison and he's trying to escape via disuise who doesn't want your help; you'd probably not want him to be near you, huh?
"this is nothing compared to the legion's training" Then literally before your hand even touches his face he lets out the most audibly pained groan produced by mankind
“Caesar has taught us that over reliance on tech and guns make us weak. A gun can jam on the battlefield. A legionnaire is trained so that his body is a weapon and that no matter the situation, he’ll be ready and able to fight” “Get me my gun so I can fight my way out of here please”
@@CIA871 I mean not really. Assuming the NCR training resembles old world training, like everything else does about the NCR, you can assume the NCR trains their soldiers to handle torture. So really, it's nothing special when you look at modern world training.
I wish there was an option for low intelligence players to interrogate him so amateurishly that he just tells you everything he knows out of pure annoyance.
One of the very few things that annoyed me about fallout is when you get your stuff back after being taken off you, it goes through every single item. I dunno, it used to annoy me
Never until visiting the comment section of this video have I seen so many people let alone anyone in particular view the tension between Silus and Boyd as being “sexual.” Yall nasty
@@useless2482 probably shouldn't be in the habit of abbreviating everything, cbt has two definitions I know of and they're on opposite ends of the spectrum, is it the BDSM term or the mental help term you're referencing?
I thought there would have been an option to Say something like "no Silius. You are a coward. You betrayed Caesar's trust and, if you talk, ill make sure you regret every letter you spill."
I like how the guy playing is actually roleplaying a low INT character for real. Pressing the "wha?" dialogue option 3 times (he cut out the 3rd one), hesitating to punch Silus and trying to block blows and standing still even though Silus said it was going to be a fake fight.
It weirded me out a little that he wanted you to rough him up before you went to retrieve his holdout weapon. I could picture Boyd just standing in the shadows puffing her cigarette while she watched...
I like to imagine that low int courier is putting his face against the glass and blowing to inflate their cheeks like a 5yo. Now put yourself in the legionaire's shoes. That would be fucking terrifying.
Courier on the other side of the wall: *Hears everything Boyd and Silus are talking about* Boyd on the other side of the wall: *Totally does not hear what the Courier and Silus are talking about*
It always amazes me that they actually got the classical latin pronunciation 100% right. Even Hollywood blockbuster films don't do that. Hoc certe est ludum optimum.
DIRECT RULE FROM GAMER CHAIR It’s a pretty good detail, you can know an NPCs alignment by how they pronounce Caesar. The spy in McCarran pronounces it correctly and it’s one of the tip-offs for the player to keep an eye on him
@@directrulefromgamerchair3947 Unfortunately they don't, but it totally works. There's a different way of making a "Kuh" sound in Latin and Italian that English doesn't have, and most notably no one trills the R in Ceasar. Check out Polymathy for some really good Latin pronunciation. That said, it totally works. Ceasar is a fucking tool who misunderstands Hegel, and his Latin tries to be accurate but isn't. On brand, and I'm here for it regardless.
This vid perfectly encapsulates FNV: well-written dialogue, good characterisation, interesting quests and multiple ways to resolve said quests. Also your character build influences those choices! And glitches.
Man, reading these comments. **Warcrimes** NCR fans: how horrible! **Warcrimes with women** NCR fans: omg femdom mommy! Well, I guess you have to be at least a little weird to think the NCR are good.
It's because of things like this that New Vegas has high replay value. There's so many factors you had to consider that playing it once or twice won't be enough to even consider that you've been thorough on this game as a whole.
I remember thinking this quest was throwing shade at the second US invasion of Iraq and both it's mistreatment of prisoners and private military contractors. You see until 2006 the PMC's that followed behind the US led coalition were just that private companies. And as such they weren't subjected to the UCMJ ( Uniform Code of Military Justice) so.... yeah as a result of not being held to account by the American code of military justice those PMC's got away with a LOT of misconduct on the battlefield
@@killswitch_-ud7kf I don't support invading other counties and murdering their people who aren't attacking us but how much oil did the US take during the war? And even if the US did get some oil out of it, the cost of the war itself was way, way higher so much so that we'll probably be paying it off through inflation for the rest of our lifetime. If the US was there for oil it seems not only did they fail to actually get the oil, they spent more then oil was worth in the process.
@@177SCmaro They weren't there to literally take the oil with them, they were there to install a regime who would let them trade for it easily. Basically all the US Military does is maintain enough order in the Middle East and other unstable places that the US can keep trading without any problems.
@@v3rri309 First of all, that wasn't how it was sold to the american people. It was sold as some sort of self-righteous crusade against the terrorists...the part that was conveniently left out was these terrorists were created by the US and it's allies who refuse to leave the people in the Middle East the hell alone. Secondly, if installing yet another regime that would trade us oil was the case then epic fucking fail. As I said, the US and it's allies spent more on 10 years of war then the oil could possibly be worth. I'm not blaming you or anything, I'm just responding to if your explanation is true. Also, I wasn't the one to suggest it was literally for oil, I was responding to someone else who suggested that.
@T B Funny how the US didn't invade Saudi. And hold on, so the US invades other countries, murders thousands if not millions of innocent people, to prevent their governments from manipulating oil prices in their favor in order to manipulate oil prices in the US's favor? Isn't that blantent hypocrisy? Basically, acting like an Empire by forcing/manipulating/threatening other countries to behave in ways benifical to the US (government)? On top of that, even if you believe in political mythology and the legitimacy of government, by their own standards the military is supposed to used only as a defensive force to keep citizens safe from foriegn invasion, not as a freaking political hammer against other countries. The USA has become the very thing it rebelled against at it's founding.
I know it’s probably been said before but i LOVE that foreshadowing train noise they use around 5:53 when Silus is talking about the Legion Spy McCarren.
1:40 the amount of backstory for this one npc; i mean, this is one of the few indications we get that NCR troops have lives outside of their jobs. one of the best quests in the game right here
I don’t understand. What are the requirements to do this? Low intelligence, friends with legion, and neutral with ncr? Gonna see if I can make coffee. Really don’t want this to be a mod.
I think you have to be friends with NCR and legion at the same time. do this by befriending the NCR before killing benny then the legion will forgive you for what you did to them and you can do a couple things for them to make them like you or maybe you only have to be neutral to the legion.
@@chinojosa4563 yeah he was helping him, you can also help blow up the monorail. the only difference I noticed with the low intelligence is him saying he can't believe he's trusting an idiot like you
Low intelligence (3 and below), positive reputation with both NCR and Legion; as Boyd won't allow you to assist with the interrogation if you are neutral or disliked by the NCR.
I loved the grayness and the inner details of the game. NCR is a good organization but has the flaw of beuracracy and oversight. The legion is brutal as an organization but even has some good qualities as far as order and laws. And both are filled with gray men. Secretly evil people making greedy deals, good people who are confused and make bad decisions, bad men with strong character and codes. Tons of side deals going on both sides. I loved all the small skirmishes and cold war stand off moments before the actual war. It felt like real factions trying to gain supremecy
