SUBSCRIBE to Our Channel: www.youtube.co... There is no first quarter on record with this size of Indian silver import throughput, following the nation's record-breaking over 76 million oz silver bullion import month of February 2024.
India continued pulling silver bullion float off the world market to the tune of nearly 28 million ounces last month, March 2024.
About half of the Indian silver import demand for March 2024 came through lower-duty UAE grain trade. My assumption is all of that is heading towards new green energy initiatives in batteries and solar demand inputs, helping to subsidize the effort to build an allegedly cleaner energy grid.
So, a large portion of this record Indian silver demand is not driven by store-of-value demand but rather by an emerging industrial powerhouse ramping up its silver inventory levels while spot prices are relatively still cheap.
To put this record size near 123 million ounces, the Indian market has imported through the first quarter of 2024. Think of it this way.
India, in the first quarter of this year, 2024, has imported as much silver bullion as the US Mint struck and sold off in 1 oz American Silver Eagle bullion coins in 2019, Covid 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and through Q1 2024 combined.
All this we covered this week.
It is basically the underlying silver market in the East at the moment.
A systemically mispriced powder keg market is waiting to explode in higher spot prices based on uber-bullish factors building.
The silver and gold spot price markets finally had a large selloff in price this week.
The spot gold price closed this week just under $2,350 oz, while the spot silver price closed the week above $27 oz.
The spot gold-silver ratio, which we will focus on to conclude this bullion market update, finished this week at 85.
Buckle in and get position-ready. When the pathetic $30 oz silver spot TAMP resistance price passes into support, the ride will still get windy and funner.

Don’t forget the big fat elephant in the room regarding silver consumption, the US military. They are using more silver than solar and batteries combined, they just don’t report it. Their consumption has been hidden for years, thats the real reason Yellen went to China to beg them to stop producing solar panels. In reality, they just want it all for missiles, bombs, torpedoes and the like. Nothing but a bunch of liars in the US government.

India has most of the world's gold. Of course they want the silver too. They might make a few solar panels with it but I'm guessing this is hoarding before the great rug pull....I mean reset. It's a lot easier to store than oil and it represents energy and wealth simultaneously. I can't think of any promise to pay better than silver.

the UAE-INDIA lowering silver duty agreement through 2031 AD says otherwise, India is a growing industrial powerhouse and they will need tonnes of silver bullion for industrial inputs to do so

Great update James. The India silver numbers are staggering. With mines only producing about ~800 million ounces annually, if India continues buying at these levels they will soak up over half of the newly mined silver. 👍🏼👍🏼

China bought and owned the LBMA. They are pricing the metals higher than here in the west causing an arbitrage. This encourages people to sell to them through the LBMA!

In March of this year, 14,000 solar panels were destroyed by a hail storm in Nebraska. The demand for Silver used by the solar power industry will be much bigger than most people realize. Most figures given are counting on the solar farms not being destroyed by simple weather patterns.

USGS projected reserves and it seems everyone is running around claiming this means Mexico runs out by 2026: pubs.usgs.gov/periodicals/mcs2022/mcs2022-silver.pdf Come back in 2027 and MX will still be there with Peru, bet.

Well done. It's interesting to see Asia get "into" silver now! Chinese couldn't care less about silver when I was there over a decade ago. I told the Chinese Mining Bureau that silver would become most important due to the technology explosion ahead. It took longer than I would have guessed, but once turned on, it would be nearly impossible to turn off. Thanks, James--

Here’s a wild theory. Market Caps matter. This spike in silver price happened right when BTCs market cap overtook silvers. So it could be a matter of future potential ROI of silver vs BTC has flipped on a market cap level.

Lots of silver in Mexico is known but not economic to mine at these prices, but if we get into a price channel in the 40s rather than the 20s you’ll see lots of mines opened that are just as profitable or more than today’s mines. Impact silver (ISVLF) has lots of silver never mined and part of a huge deposit(s) known since the Aztecs. This stock is a prime candidate for an easy 10x.

The inference he was making was that Mexico is running out of silver reserves in the ground (not true), and also politically, they may be shutting down many open pit mines (TBD politically soon, unlikely though)

Good question; I recently saw rumors in the tin there is a 90% stranglehold of Chinese interest from a whale trader. Ridiculous concentration. I have not heard anything other than Western Bank derivative desks on the massive short side for PM derivatives thus far.
