Interesting to see soldering on stainless... good to watch. As usual you make stuff look easy. Here's to gravy jobs! Hope the incoming rain does not make for a problem - looks rather excessive. Take care Terry.
I did not watch each one so may have missed an explanation but am just a wee bit curious what these pipe fittings are used for? I assume the pipes remaining open serve a purpose otherwise a solid rod could have been used.
@@txsviking We would braze the cutters in and weld/braze a tungsten carbide overlay on the rest of the bit. Very interesting work, and very hot. We had to pre-heat them to 1000F before brazing so we could actually braze and not immediately freeze the solder.
Try adding a little vinegar to your pot for cleaning the finished product. Its a mild acid, then go to a solution of baking soda and water to neutralize. Then just a plain water rinse
Very nice setup. I like how you made your workspace clean and productive, the turntable clamp is just the best idea. So I take it stainless steel wont scale with carbon from the heat?
it's right at 90 here in MO. today too, I'm surprised someone hasn't said "you'er gonna blow yourself up using that lighter" lol, well I guess that would be possible if you helt the torch on the lighter for a while.
We've been seeing some screwy weather lately cold with high humidity, sunny and cold, cold rain. O-well New England. So you've been around a while in the welding field. Are you running a mix or just a gas?
Good job....no not good but great....that was to my eye a great silver solder job.....but for me when you stated the jobs you did I would not like the repetitious jobs....not my bag but hey....if it pays good one does it and runs with the money....CHEERS
@@txsviking Thank you, guess that's why a customer didn't jump at a bid for 32 each for mine. Basically, the same thing but my project has lead in it and some detailed TIG welding. They went for the 23 each though and they supply the acetylene and 02.
