This is actually really common for the Hmong Thai who are closer to the city (to struggle with their Hmong). I wouldn't have known this had I not visit Thailand and met the Hmong people there. It's similar to us in America. Being surrounded by predominantly English speakers, we also struggle with our Hmong.

It’s just like how our American kids speak Hmong these days. Most kids in the US can’t even speak Hmong.

Same for Hmong people from France.

Hmong people easily adapt to wherever they live. Those who are stubborn are the ones who struggle to live a progressive life.
