Easily the most underrated musical genius of that generation. And while the first 2 albums are excellent, the stuff Daniel would write after Freak Show cemented him as a legit musical genius. Neon Ballroom, Diorama, Young Modern, and the Dissociatives album(as well as the ICBINR EP) are all absolutely perfect. And so diverse....no two albums sound the same. So much creativity in this guy. I hope he's doing alright now. He's had his share of genuine suffering....and I just hope he's doing alright now. I'd love new music....and love even more if Silverchair made a new album. But honestly, I love Daniel so much that more than anything I just hope he's happy....

I checked his instagram and he’s been gone for a year so I don’t know if people have other ways of finding out where he’s at, maybe I’m not of a fan enough and don’t have the right sources (I sound like a stalker lmao no I am not). I know he is in a band called Dreams with his stepbrother or whateva but it was from 2018 and that is the lastest information I have. On instagram it was like music with Dreams etcetera... I hope he’s happy and well, in that 2018 interview he seemed bad af and really anxious and freaked out on the inside. We love you Daniel !! ❤️ (that’s just a bottle in the ocean ^^)
Daniel is a genius! Any kind of musical style he does is just brilliant. The fact that they all started when they were literally just a kid. Daniel and Silverchair as a band is just one of the best band ever. Music and lyrics, SUPERB. Thank you for this video. 🙌🏻
Back in 1991 electric weapons were used to get me to jam with some other students from the school I went to, we made and recorded some songs on my cassette player in my bedroom at home, we gave some of those songs names like “Tomorrow”(a song about school fighting), “Freak”(a laugh at me), “Pure massacre”(a song about the new local abattoirs) and “Israels son”(inspired by the religious schools we went to). Probably really tired. Interviews and school work with tutor in between lots of gigs and he’s an introvert so being around lots of people would be draining.
He seems pretty shy definitely a kind of person that love to play music but maybe doesn’t enjoy the fame part of must have been hard to deal with so much attention at a young age
I think it would have really hit him (metaphorically speaking) after he stage dived and they didn’t catch him. (should have warned them before jumping I guess) and then got his clothes ripped off by the crowd in Melbourne, while unconscious and security had to drag him out. Probably felt like people don’t care at all. Just think he’s a circus act.
@@spacebud7028 Stage dive without being caught and clothes getting ripped off ? It was late 1995. Sometimes trauma kicks in later when too busy or pre ocupied to deal with it at the time. Also got a glass bottle thrown at his head in the U S in 1995 at a music festival. In Australia at all ages gigs we were only allowed to take in plastic bottles in and they did bag checks and had metal detectors at silverchair concerts (Not for other Australian bands) A guy threw a plastiic bottle at Daniel's head and it was full of water. He said if you're gonna throw bottles don't throw em full cos it fuckin hurts. Guy in front of me who chucked it got elbows to the head while I moshed on top of him. I got chucked out before the last few songs cos I think they thought it was me who chucked it (or that I was moshing on top of his head lol) which sucked.
I'm a huge Silverchair fan, and have been there since the beginning, and I've never heard this tale at all - I've just finished Chris and Ben's book, and there is no mention at all of this. Australia loved Silverchair and still do, and we were only allowed plastic bottles into gigs since the 90's. R U sure you've got the right story there mate?
