Silverstone SX500-LG - galloping sound

Background noise - Swiftech H220 pump and 2x120mm fans on minimum RPM. (1160 RPM for pump)
This SX500-LG galloping sound is really not that bad, H220 pump is definitely more annoying. But sometimes it can get louder and will be noticeable from my sitting position (2-3 feets).
There is no GPU in the system and the load was only 3-4 hours of light 2D gaming.

I've been through 3 SX500-LG's and all have made noise. I am just going to open it and replace the fan.

were you abe to do it? im about to buy one and a gelid wings low profile fan to replace the stock one.

A quick and dirty soldering job was all it took. -Be sure to get a 3-pin fan that starts at or close to 0.16A I recently screwed up a brand new Noctua fan because I wasn't paying attention and it never got enough amperage to start spinning. No fun.

+Aleksejs Belezjaks (Alex) Scythe Slipstream Slim 3-pin 120mm @ 1200RPM. It was the quietest in the line and starts at a low enough amperage.

Have you ever had the SFX 450W bronze or gold, and if so, is this one more quiet? I've had the bronze and gold and both are pretty loud, even at idle. I decided to keep the bronze though, since that one was the least loud for me.

Nope, I've got nothing to compare it to. But check SX500-LG thread on the Hardforum, most people there are complaining about "galloping" sound, but all of them also admit that it's the quietest SXF/SFX-L PSU. hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1834746

Luc Reinink I have the SFX 450w gold in my Ncase M1. Still deciding whether or not to sell that psu and get the SX500-LG psu for my Dondan A4 build. SFX 450w is pretty loud under gaming loads and that's with a 4.0 GHz i7 4770k and GTX 760 Reference gpu.
