Silvertone 1484 Amp - 1966 

thanks for showing this amp in a good light and letting it breathe deeply. its been my main amp recording at home and occasional local gigs. A few mods, and its attained a great versatility without losing its characteristic charm ^_^ i love my 60 year old trash factory

Played through one of these in about 1967 or so. The next time I saw one, Steven Stills was playing his electric through it on the concert stage. Thanks for the video.

I just found another one locally with original tubes and speakers still sounding great. Its an earlier 1964 with the brushed metal faceplate, not the shinier chrome looking ones on later 1484’s. I’m now up to (3) 1484’s, (2) 1483’s, and one 1482. Watch out Tom I’m creeping up on ya!! Jk I’m not that crazy yet haha

These were really great amplifiers and they sell them at the Sears stores I Although most of the Sears stores are out of business nowadays and they were one the first to have payment plans you put $10 down pay 10 bucks a month and you could walk out of the store with a brand new amplifier and if you lived out in the middle of nowhere on the farm you could order a Sears amplifier or a Sears guitar they were called Silvertone guitars and amplifiers in about four days later you had a brand new guitar amplifier awesome man I think they build all the stuff in Chicago Illinois they were built by the harmony guitar company💰💰💰💰💰🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

How do you produce the gain in these video's, do you use pedals, or do you just crank the amp? Totally love the amp and your playing, currently figuring out the possibilities, about this beauty.

It was a day of celebration when my 1484 arrived from Sears, the next celebration was the day I sold it.

This amp was on par with the Bassman Amp when played with guitar .Why didnt Danolectric put a descent reverb in it ?

I have the same amp and it doesn't look like your using any pedal to get distortion. What may be wrong with my amp if there is no natural distortion?

Hello, I have purchased a Silvertone 1485, and I am absolutely in love with it. However, I am a bedroom player and looking for a nice breakup without blowing my house down. How does the volume of the 1484 compare to the 1485? Could I crank the 1484 in my bedroom? And if not, would the 1483 be a healthy alternative?

I've had one of these for a few years now but I'm selling it tomorrow morning.

Do they sell these at long and McQuade? Where did you get this amp?
