Finally someone went through the threads of each side of QR

I bought this, and when it was installed everything was fine, but there was a minor issue, which was the steering wheel being installed at a slant, which is shown in video 11:17. I had to install the Xero-Play at an angle to the right side so that I could install the handlebar straight When finished, you must rest the steering wheel in the Simucube app Even the 70mm is mounted at a slant on the left side. I bought it from the HRS website In general, this does not mean that it is a big problem, and I would really like to know if there is this problem, or if I think my installation is wrong. I am really happy that I saw this first and wonderful video of mine and then I bought it and I am happy with this purchase Thx Bro 🌹

Tip if you run into a Wheel side QR that is loose compared to the rest and dont want to adjust for that 1 wheel, Simply add a piece of electrical tape over where the delrin nub sits. it will provide enough to snug things back up.

Great video man. Nice to see videos about hardware that’s not Fanatec. I use a SimCore UH1-105 with the HRS ZeroPlay, both in gold. It’s such a fantastic setup. Replacing the SC2 stock shaft is the way to go. No adapter necessary anymore. Looks super clean too. Also have my SC2 Pro mounted to my P1X with the SimCore UM1-ALN (in gold) I like it so much better then my old DD2 setup.

Nice! I’ll have to check out the shaft replacement - could simplify things a lot and I’m finding I might need another inch to be comfortable.

@@2trackminded It’s such a clean setup. I started off with a black UH1-75 with a gold 50mm Pro XT to get the length I wanted. (You can see that in a video I posted) Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get the two to play nice. Then George released UH1-105 in gold so I got that. It gave me the length and color I wanted in one package.

Great Video, thanks! That’s the same combination I thought about, very helpful.

Glad you found it useful! My only point of criticism is that I wish they used a tighter tolerance when making the holes for the motor side. You have to try and center it before tightening it down as there’s a mm or two of excessive play.

A quick release that requires adjustment every time when changing between wheels. How useless.
@hreker7563
@hreker7563 2 года назад
I had the same thought. I'm honestly really curious why you would spent serious money to replace a perfect QR with one that needs adjustments for different wheels.. It's the biggest flaw of Fanatec ecosystem and one of the reasons I went for Simucube..

The SimLab/LTEC quick release is more secure and is self adjusting. (Krontec clone). NRG also makes a slightly different clone.

So after 2 Months, are you still satisfied with the Sim-Lab Xero-Play Quick Release?
@2trackminded
@2trackminded 2 года назад
Very. The only nit pick is that you may need to adjust the tolerance slightly between wheels. This is unfortunate but we’re talking very factional differences. I’ve got it in a sweet spot now that both wheel side attachments I have will work well without adjusting the screw - though one will have more resistance in sealing than the other. I think every “fixed” position QR will have this problem as you would need insane machining tolerances to get exact matches that are unnoticeable.

@@2trackminded yes just found out in the GSI discord that there is a sim lab simcube adapter.but I just talked to someone and I think I’m gonna do what he did. sC motor > simcore 50mm> AH50 hub from GSI > GSI wheel I read from simucube developer they don’t recommend more than 110mm from motor to wheel

Bolts without washers? Not sure how advisable that would be. Simcore provided those and would have done so for a reason. Did you try and check clearance using the washer before deciding against it? Or ask Simcore for advice?
@2trackminded
@2trackminded 2 года назад
It’s a good point. I did end up testing with the washers with the SimCore included hardware and it did not clear. I ended up filing down the bolt heads to make space with washers 😊

Nothing wrong, just wanted to try a different mechanism. The Simucube doesn’t come with the wheel side adapter so you have to make another purchase regardless. I like using the adapter plate as it allows me to use any adapter in the future. The GSI QR looks really convincing.
